GENERAL
 
As Jockey K. Gates was indisposed, stewards permitted rider replacements per the race day summary sheet.
 
Trainer Kelly Purdy was fined $100 pursuant to LR 67(1) for the late declaration of rider for BRYDELICIOUS engaged in race 4.
 
Race 1: STEWART SEAFOODS Fillies & Mares BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1000 metres
 
COSMIC SERENADE – Shifted out and bumped MISSIE ARCHER at the 500m. Rider reported that the mare was not comfortable in its action when placed under pressure in the home straight. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery. Trainer M. Morrison advised stewards that mare may not have travelled well owing to the heavy traffic conditions on route to the course. He further added that he would have bloods samples taken and would advise stewards if anything were to come to light that may have had a bearing on the performance of the mare.
 
SET ME UP – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to not having started for a significant period and was clear to start. Slow to begin. Rider reported the mare was resuming from a significant break from racing and would take benefit from todays’ event.
 
YOU'LL BE MIST – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
MISSIE ARCHER – Bumped by COSMIC SERENADE at the 500m.
 
UNLIKELYOCCURRENCE – Slow to begin.
 
SNEAKY THREE - Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after dislodging a tooth in the tie up stalls and was cleared to start.
 
 
Race 2: MAX ROCKATANSKY QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1000 metres
 
JAMAICAN RUMBA – Rider reported the gelding travelled well until placed under pressure in the home straight and failed to respond to his riding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be displaying clinical signs of the thumps.
 
KERNEL BOOM – Slow to begin. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on the staring manners of the gelding. Stable representative advised the gelding would likely be sent for a spell.
 
 
Race 3: RUSSELL SHEEHAN MEMORIAL Colts, Geldings & Entires BENCHMARK 58 Handic 1000 metres
 
MR BROSE – Steadied from heels approaching the 900m and had to be steadied.
 
SAM'S A NATURAL – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival at the barrier due blood being present in its mouth. The gelding was subsequently cleared to start. Slow to begin. Over-race in the middle stages. Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
 
IN'HINCHABLE­ – Approaching the 900m was taken outwards by LEGEND RULES. Raced three wide throughout.
 
BALDASSARE – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
HOT PROFIT – Slow to begin.
 
LOGAN'S BLADE Bumped heavily with PHANTOM SPIRIT at the start and became unbalanced.
 
PHANTOM SPIRIT – Bumped heavily with LOGAN’S BLADE at the start and became unbalanced.
 
DEEP STATE – Raced wide throughout.
 
LEGEND RULES – Shifted outwards approaching the 900m resulting in outside runners being inconvenienced.
 
LIMPET – Inconvenienced approaching the 900m. Raced three wide throughout.
 
RASHEED - Inconvenienced approaching the 900m and had to be steadied.
 
Race 4: ELEVATION PSYCHOLOGY QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1400 metres
 
FLOP TURN RIVER – Began awkwardly. Raced in restricted room at the 1000m.
 
OUR HEART THROB – Cast its off-hind plate. Rider reported the gelding travelled fairly however when placed under pressure was disappointing in its finishing effort.
 
PERFECT POWER – Raced wide throughout.
 
TAPILDOODLEDO – Slow to begin. Hampered shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
THORSBY – Rider reported the colt over-raced in the middle stages and which may have had bearing on its finishing effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to have mild heat stress.
 
ULTIMATE OUTCOME – Raced wide throughout.
 
CHEROKEE GIRL - Raced wide throughout.
 
LADY LE DA – Slow to begin. Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
 
 
Race 5: DAVE MASTERS MEMORIAL Maiden Handicap 1400 metres
 
The start of this event was delayed approximately 5 minutes owing to HOT SAUCE proving difficult to load. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on the barrier manners of the mare.
 
VICTORY'S GHOST – Raced three wide throughout.
 
LYRICAL LOVER – Hampered at the start and lost ground.
 
GASPIPE – Began extremely awkwardly and lost ground. A warning was placed on the barrier manners of the gelding.
 
DREAMING JEANIE - Held in the early stages of the home straight. Laid in under pressure in the home straight and was unable to be fully tested by its rider.
 
SADDLE STITCH – Restrained shortly after the start to secure a position closer to the rail.
 
MITTSY ­– Shifted out at the start.
 
TRIPLE CITIZEN - Raced three wide throughout.
 
 
Race 6: BLUE HOPE Class 4 Handicap 1400 metres
 
The start of this event was slightly delayed owing to a delay in the previous event.
 
AWESOME LAD – Raced keenly in the middle stages. Held up rounding the home turn. Shifted out upon entering the home straight and bumped with COMMAND KING for a short distance.
 
COMMAND KING – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Laid in momentarily approaching the home turn. Shortly after entering the home straight was bumped heavily by AWESOME LAD, which shifted out to secure clear running.
 
Race 7: PD RAMBO MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1800 metres
 
PAINTED BLACK – Brushed by GULLFOSS approaching the 150m. Rider R. Wiggins pled guilty to a charge pursuant to AR 131(b) and was fined $400 for failing to ride to ride his mount out fully approaching the end of the race.
 
EARN OUT– Slow to begin.
 
GULLFOSS – Laid in under pressure approaching the 150m and brushed PAINTED BLACK.
 
SIMON SAYS – Slow to begin.
