SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
Eagle Farm 15/10/22 – Race 4
ZA CEIBAS - Following a disappointing performance, Trainers representative Mr Brett Killion has advised that the gelding will now be sent for a spell.
 
GENERAL
Stewards permitted the following weight variations:
Race 7: Dale Smith – ABOVE THE SKY – 55.5kg (+0.5kg)
 
Race 1: XXXX GOLD QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 65 Handicap
1000 metres
 
BRING ME KASH – Began awkwardly.
 
MAGINNIS – Rider S Collett reported the horse was under pressure from the home turn and was disappointed with its performance over the concluding stages of the event.A post-race veterinary examination revealed signs of the thumps.
 
RUBY CHICKS – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages of the event. Raced three wide throughout.
 
 
Race 2: CANADIAN CLUB OPEN Handicap 1000 metres
 
SUPERARE – Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
PIZONIE – Blundered on jumping. Inclined to lay out under pressure in the home straight. Lost near hind plate in running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off fore pastern.
 
SAY HAYA – Slow to begin.
 
MISHANI FRAUDSTER – On arrival at the barriers the saddle on the horse was readjusted. Held up and unable to improve in the early stages of the home straight before shifting to the inside passing the 200m to obtain clear running. Cast the near fore plate in running.
 
 
Race 3: BARINGA TAVERN Class 2 Handicap 2200 metres
 
KOMATA – Slow to begin.
 
ON BAIL – Following the disappointing performance trainer C Anderson advised the horse would now be sent for an immediate spell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
OCTOBER JOY – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SIMON SAYS – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. When asked to comment on the apparent improved performance rider L Tarrant advised at its most recent start the race was not run to suit, adding that today SIMON SAYS was able to settle more comfortably further back in the field as per its preferred racing pattern. Stewards noted the explanation.
 
 
Race 4: YALUMBA Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
SCAT'S SURFER GIRL – Held up for clear running from entering the home straight until passing the 300m.
 
VAN NUYS – Bumped and forced wider leaving the 600m.
 
VELOCIRAPTOR – Over-raced in the early stages. Raced wide with cover for the majority of the event.
 
ALAMIRA – Jumped out at the start and bumped LOVE ON DISPLAY.
 
LOVE ON DISPLAY – Bumped at the start. Raced greenly for the majority of the event. Passing the 600m, when racing ungenerously, shifted out and bumped VAN NUYS which was forced wider on the track. Trainer B Ainsworth was advised a warning would be placed on the racing manners of LOVE ON DISPLAY.
 
NAOMI'S REIGN – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
PERSUAL – Raced in restricted room to the inside of GOODSCENT for a short distance passing the 100m.
 
GLENEAGLE MISSILE – Crowded on jumping and lost ground.
 
Race 5: BRIGHTWATER HOTEL Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden
Plate 1200 metres
 
The start was originally delayed due to an interstate thoroughbred event running behind the advertised starting time, and further when the tongue tie on VIRGO VISION needing to be readjusted.
 
COUNTER COMMAND – Jumped in at the start and bumped IMMY THE GYMNAST. Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
PATTI WAGGIN – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
VIRGO VISION – Held up for clear running entering the home straight.
 
KINTAMANI – Shifted in abruptly on jumping away. Held up for clear running for the entirety of the home straight and went to the line without being fully tested by its rider. Lost off hind plate in running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
KUBWA – Jumped out at the start. Held up for clear running from the 200m until inside the 100m before shifting to the inside to obtain clear running.
 
MONEY BEAR – Checked at the start and lost ground when KINTAMANI shifted in abruptly on jumping away. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
JIMMY THE GYMNAST – Jumped out at the start and bumped COUNTER COMMAND.
 
PAMPLONA LAD – From the wide barrier was restrained shortly after the start to a rearward position closer to the rails.
 
ON THE MANTLE – Began awkwardly.
 
 
Race 6: BUNDABERG RUM BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1600 metres
 
DAULAT TAI PANAZIZ – Steadied from the heels of LOVING MISS passing the 800m.
 
MISS TOO FLY – Obliged to shift wider on the track rounding the home turn to improve.
 
LOVING MISS – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
 
THE GOLDEN SOUL – Held up rounding the home turn and the early stages of the home straight.
 
SALSONIC – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
 
EVITA LA VIE – Began awkwardly. Near the 1300m momentarily steadied from the heels of MISS TO FLY which shifted in.
 
 
 
Race 7: PARKLANDS TAVERN RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1600 metres
 
MOTTRAM – Forced wider from the 700m.
 
ICE ELITE – Bumped at the start. Near the 1300m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of HAPPISBURGH which shifted in. Raced wide from the 700m. When asked to comment on the performance rider J Cornish reported she would have preferred to have improved into the race earlier, but was obliged to race further back in the field than anticipated, which is not the usual racing pattern of ICE ELITE. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
SIDEWALK – Jumped in at the start and bumped ICE ELITE.
 
ABOVE THE SKY – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Following the disappointing performance, Trainer T Hurley advised he would now send ABOVE THE SKY for an immediate spell.
 
 
Race 8: BLI BLI HOTEL COMING SOON Class 1 Handicap 1000 metres
 
DUSKY DANCER – Raced three wide for the majority of the event.
 
ROARING THUNDER – Slow to begin.
 
NEXT TO EXCEL – When asked to comment on the disappointing performance, rider B Thompson reported the horse was first up today after an extended break, did not let down as expected and could offer no explanation for today’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery. Co-trainer M Hoysted advised he would report back any condition which may come to light in the coming days.
 
STAR SEEKER – Passing the 600m raced in restricted room to the inside of DUSKY DANCER for a short distance.
 
SIRIANNI – Raced three wide for the majority of the event.
