Race 1: BRAD READ DESIGN GROUP Maiden Handicap 1800 metres Petrillo (NZ) – Slow to begin. Saint Bartholomew – Held up momentarily when rounding the home turn.American Jazz – B Loy reported that in his opinion the gelding failed to handle the rain effected track surface. Stable representative T Pollard advised stewards that the stable will have veterinary tests performed in the coming days. Post-race vet examination revealed no abnormalities. Bonjour Mate – Raced wide throughout. Triple Citizen – Raced wide throughout. A Devil's Chance – Permission was given for M Powell to ride 1kg overweight. Barta Lines – Riders whip became entangled with the horses mane in the home straight. Marmion – Raced wide throughout. Laid in during the middle stages. Willnotquit (NZ) – Held up when rounding the home turn.Following the running of this event the track was downgraded to Soft 7.S Thornton, the rider of DESTINATION SYDNEY, was dislodged on pulling up and was subsequently examined by the club doctor and cleared of any injuries. Race 2: BENNETT & BENNETT SURVEYORS Class 2 Plate 1800 metres The start of this event was delayed when the bit lifter was removed from the gear of CRAIGLEA KARLY after arriving at the barriers when rider W Peel advised the starter this gear was pulling the bridle down over the ears of the mare. Master Marko (NZ) – Tightened for room when MADAME MO shifted in near the 1200m and had to be steadied. S Thornton, the rider of MADAME MO, was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground. Patmos Island – Over-raced during the early stages. Nina Artie – Laid out under pressure in the straight. Madame Mo – Raced wide during the early stages. Toni Too (NZ) – Steadied when awkwardly placed at heels near the 400m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Race 3: WALSH CONSULTING ENGINEERS QTIS Three-Year-Old Fillies Maiden Plate 1000 metres Due to the delay in the previous event the start of this race was delayed. Capital Meg – Raced wide throughout. Elle Of A Belle – Raced in restricted room and was steadied near the 700m. Gerrymander – Raced wide throughout Li'l Misshonkytonk – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Silver Pearl – Slow to begin. Race 4: COASTLINE BMW QTIS Three-Year-Old Colts & Geldings Maiden Plate 1000 metres Bauhinia Rock – Over-raced when restrained to obtain cover after leaving the 800m. Full Field - Began awkwardly and made contact with the barrier partition. B Loy reported that he was disappointed with the geldings performance and was of the view that the horse may not have handled the rain effected surface. Post-race vet examination revealed a poor recovery. Pocket Full – Began awkwardly. Shifted out when attempting to secure clear running near the 400m and became awkward at heels. Push Turbo – Began awkwardly causing its rider to become unbalanced. Race 5: CARGO TRANSPORT SYSTEMS BENCHMARK 62 Handicap1000 metres Sam's A Natural – Slow to begin. Belistic Man – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Race 6: RAY WHITE GYMPIE RATINGS BAND 0 - 62 Handicap1400 metres Born A Warrior – Tightened for room shortly after the start and had to be steadied. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Archdeacon – Raced wide throughout. R Maloney reported that his mount made an abnormal respiratory noise during the event. Post-race vet examination revealed a minor abrasion to the near fore leg. Set Me Up – Tightened for room shortly after the start and had to be steadied. Race 7: DOUBLE R GROUP BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1200 metres Liability – Hampered on jumping. Raced wide throughout. Knockknee – Began awkwardly. Rising Star – Raced wide throughout. Hard Reyva – Eased from heels near the 700m. Sacca – Tightened for room on jumping. Lady Rain – Lost the off fore plate in running. Post-race vet examination revealed…..
