SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
Ipswich Thursday 3/11/2022
 
Co-Trainer T. Sears advised that following the disappointing performance of MAH PRECIOUS the horse was scoped which revealed trace amounts of bloody mucus. Mr Sears further added that the gelding was also sore in both knees and would now be spelled. Stewards advised Mr Sears that a further veterinary clearance would be required as well as MAH PRECIOUS being required to satisfactory trial prior to being permitted to race again.
 
GENERAL
 
Trainer L. Gough was reprimanded pursuant to LR 36(6)(a) for failing to scratch his dual acceptor BEEN A WHILE from race 4 by the prescribed time.
 
Trainer L. Gough was fined $100 pursuant to LR 67(1) for failing to declare a rider for BEEN A WHILE engaged in race 7 by the prescribed time.
 
Race 1: MURPHY HOMES QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1000 metres
 
HOPETOUN SUNRISE – Jumped inwards at the start. Became awkward in its action shortly after the start. Race greenly throughout when racing wide throughout.
 
MISHANI EAGLE – Raced greenly in the early stages.
 
SHARP DAZZLER – Slow to begin. Shifted in and away from MISHANI FLASH approaching the 600m.
 
MISHANI DIAMOND – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room leaving the 800m. Had to be checked approaching the 600m when racing tight between SHARP DAZZLER and MISHANI EAGLE both of which shifted ground when racing greenly. Approaching the home turn had to steadied from heels when racing erratically. Raced greenly throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be lame in the near hindleg. Trainer L. Ross was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior the filly being permitted to race again.
 
RINGER'S REWARD – Raced greenly in the early stages.
 
Race 2: DIAGEO Maiden Handicap 1800 metres
 
WEWON – Over raced in the early stages when being restrained to a position with cover. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
IDLE DICE – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
GOLD SAMURAI – Over raced in the early stages.
 
BARTA LINES – Slow to begin. Commenced to over-race at the 1300m and shifted wider to work forward to the position outside the leader at the 900m.
 
MEDIEVAL CROWN (NZ) – Over-raced in the early stages. Shifted in under pressure leaving the 200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the mouth of the gelding.
 
Race 3: GLOBAL TURF Class 3 Handicap 1800 metres
 
JAKKALBERRY FINN (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
NOBLE CAT – Shifted out to improve rounding the home turn and bumped RIPCORD (NZ). Rider J. Orman advised stewards that when presented with a run between TONI TOO (NZ) and JAKKALBERRY FINN (NZ) in the early stages of the home straight was reluctant to improve between those runners and failed to quicken as anticipated and only finished the race off fairly in his opinion.
 
RIPCORD (NZ) – Laid out approaching the home turn. Bumped rounding the home turn when NOBLE CAT shifted out to improve.
 
MADAME MO – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running from the 400m and leaving the 200m.
 
 
Race 4: MAROOCHYDORE SLSC Fillies and Mares Class 1 Plate 1200 metres
 
FRAZZLED – Hampered at the start and lost ground when KAYLEEN jumped inwards.
 
GEORGIAN BAY – Slow to begin.
 
SPARKY GIRL – Over-raced in the early stages. Inconvenienced and lost ground when avoiding the fallen runner at the 300m.
 
TICK TOCK QUEEN – Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
 
KAYLEEN – Jump inwards at the start. Fell at the 300m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer S. Kendrick was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to being permitted to start again. Rider L. Tarrant was assessed by QAS officials and was subsequently transported to hospital for further assessment. An inquiry was opened regarding the reasons for KAYLEEN falling at the 300m. After taking evidence from all riders in this event this matter was adjourned to allow evidence to be taken from rider L. Tarrant who was transported to hospital.
 
As a result of the fall in this race all races were put back one time slot with the last race to be run at 5:20pm
 
Race 5: XXXX Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 1 Plate 1200 metres
 
CLAUDIUS – Slow to begin. Commenced to over-race approaching the 800m, shifted outwards and raced three wide for the remainder. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Trainer P. Duff was advised a warning would be placed on the racing manners of the gelding.
 
HELSUN – Over-raced in early stages.
 
SCRIPT WRITER – Slow to begin. Forced wider approaching the 800m when CLAUDIUS shifted out when over-racing.
 
 
Race 6: COTTON TREE MEATS QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1000 metres
 
HOUSTON ROCKET – Slow to begin. Improved onto the heels of the tiring CARDANO at the 250m and was obliged to alter course.
 
JACOB JOE - Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Raced wide throughout.
 
POWERALONG – Began awkwardly.
 
VALANTINO ROC (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Inconvenienced at the 250m when HOUSTON ROCKET shifted out after improving onto the heels of a tiring runner.
 
EAGLE VISION - Raced wide throughout.
 
BOLD AND SMOOTH - Raced wide throughout.
 
GERRYMANDER – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
IT'S HELLS BELLS – Became awkward after improving onto heels approaching the home turn and had to be steadied.
 
CARDANO - Underwent a veterinary examination upon arrival at the barriers after contacting outside fence and was subsequently cleared to start. Began awkwardly. Connections advised the filly would now be spelled.
 
ISSHEGREY – Slow to begin.
 
Race 7: ANGOVE WINES Fillies and Mares BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1400 metres
 
GAP YEAR – Hampered shortly after the start. Held up for clear running from the 400m until leaving the 150m.
 
SHE'S ENUFF - A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
WICKED'N' LOVIN'IT – Slow to begin.
 
BEAN A WHILE – Began awkwardly. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
TRIPLE CITIZEN – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
SERENADE THE CAT – Bumped on the hindquarters by GAP YEAR at the start.
 
GOODSCENT – Became fractious in the enclosure and fell, dislodging its rider. Rider M. Du Plessis was cleared of injury. Underwent a veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was cleared to start.
 
 
Race 8: VISIT MAROOCHY SURF CLUB Colts, Geldings & Entires BENCHMARK 58 Handic 1400 metres
 
The start of this event was slightly delayed as a result of BELLICOSE undergoing veterinary examination after taking charge of its rider during the preliminary.
 
FLYING ROTHE – Began awkwardly.
 
SIAN STAR – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority. Had to be eased from the heels of PAMPLONA LAD at the 600m when that runner hung out and was then shifted inwards by its rider. Obliged to alter course in the early stages of the home straight to secure clear running.
 
AGENT OF MAYHEM – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ATLANTIC ROYAL – Raced wide throughout. Inconvenienced at the 600m when PAMPLONA LAD hung out.
 
ROADTRIP – Fractious before the start. Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
PAMPLONA LAD – Hung out leaving the 600m inconveniencing SIAN STAR and ATLANTIC ROYAL. Cast its near hind plate. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor abrasion to the near hind leg. Trainer S. Dwyer advised stewards that the gelding would now be retired.
 
BELLICOSE – Took charge of its rider during the preliminary before being brought under control near the 800m. A veterinary examination upon arrival at the barrier cleared the gelding to start.
