QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT SUNSHINE COAST TURF CLUB - FRIDAY 11 NOVEMBER 2022 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Soft 5, Good 4 prior to Race 1. RAIL – 8 metres OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – J Williamson.Stewards – G Goold, P Zimmermann, J Mitchell.Clerk of Scales – J Robinson.Judge – P Chilton.Veterinarian – Dr D Lau.Swab Attendants – J Pedofsky, A Challen.Starter – R Hanson. GENERAL Stewards approved the following jockeys to ride overweight.Race 1 – Michael Cahill (Laguna De Chicabel) plus 1kg at 55kg.Race 5 – Michael Cahill (Danerock) plus 1kg at 55kg.Race 6 – Michael Cahill (Glashabee) plus 1/2kg at 55kg. Race 1: GOLDEN BEACH STATE SCHOOL P & C Maiden Handicap 1000 metres The start of this race was delayed due to the late scratching of Counter Command and the Clerk of the Course losing a stirrup iron on the course proper, which needed to be located prior to the running of the event. Crypto Tycoon – Slow to begin. Disappointed for a run to the inside of TORQUE SENSATION approaching the finishing line and was unable to be fully tested by its rider. Counter Command – Declared a late scratching at 5.06pm after rearing over and dislodging its rider behind the barriers. Jockey T Marshall was cleared by the club doctor to fulfil his remaining engagements. Trainer G Duncan was advised that the gelding will be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to resuming. Deductions are as follows. Chikara (8) – 1 cent win, 2 cents place.Neoclassicism (6)– 2 cents place.Torque Sensation (7) – 4 cents place Neoclassicism – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after being delayed by traffic and was cleared to start. Torque Sensation – Laid in over the final 100m. Chikara – Began awkwardly. Raced wide. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight. Near the 350m was obliged to check from the heels of a tiring runner before shifting wide to secure clear running. Island Lady – Tightened on jumping and lost ground. Nicover – Blundered on jumping, caused its rider to become unbalanced and lost ground. Raced wide. Amanecer – Raced wide. Laguna De Chicabel – Raced wide. Mr Ciccolina – Underwent a pre- race veterinary examination after being delayed by traffic and was cleared to start. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and until approaching the 200m. Leisure Games – Began awkwardly. Race 2: THE SIGNATURE TERRACE PARK SERIES BY PELICAN WATERS Class 2 Handicap 1000 metres Raced 2 was delayed due to the significant delay prior to Race 1. Yourjokingme Right – Raced wide. Rose Of Duporth – Obliged to race in restricted room near the 200m. Kaboom – Slow to begin. Pocketrocket – Slow to begin. Disappointed for a run near the 200m and obliged to check from heels of BRAZETTI which shifted out under riding. Jockey Ben Thompson was charged and found guilty pursuant to a charge under AR131(a) in that near the 200m he allowed his mount to shift out under whip riding which resulted in POCKETROCKET becoming awkwardly placed on the heels BRAZETTI and causing the rider of POCKETROCKET to check her mount and lose its rightful running. After submissions on penalty Jockey Thompson’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence M/N 19/11/22 and expire M/N 27/11/22. Brazetti – Shifted out when tiring near the 200m. Intimidating – Slow to begin. Race 3: MARG GITTIN'S HORSING AROUND BIRTHDAY BASH Maiden Handicap 1400 metres Happisburgh – Forced wider near the 100m. Post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be exhibiting mild heat stress. Private Banker – Slow to begin. Checked from the heels of OZARCH near the 800m and obliged to shift wider. Ozarch – Improved onto heels of HAPPISBURGH when racing keenly near the 800m, obliged to check and shifted out. Set Ablaze – Slow to begin. Alittletiff – Began awkwardly. Over raced early and middle stages. Another Dime – Underwent a pre- race veterinary examination after being delayed by traffic and was cleared to start. Raced wide. Savarosa – Slow to begin. Shifted out abruptly near the 100m.Trainer B Healey was advised that the mare would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards due to poor pre-race manners. Saturday Glory – Bumped and carried wider near the 100m when SAVAROSA shifted out to improve. Jockey A Allen was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident. Frida's Time – Hampered on jumping. Raced wide. Inconvenienced near the 800m and carried wider. Game Star – Raced wide. Laid out in the early part of the straight. Yourjokingme Right – Cast the near hind plate. Race 4: COLD CONTROL Class 3 Plate 1400 metres Air Marshal – Underwent a pre- race veterinary examination after being delayed by traffic and was cleared to start. Slow to begin. Better Lad – Near the 1300m inconvenienced when forced to race in restricted room. The Brumby – Bumped with HARD REYVA and raced in restricted room near the 1300m. The Drover – Blundered on jumping. Hard Reyva – Near the 1300m inconvenienced and raced in restricted room when forced inwards bumping with THE BRUMBY. Tarex (NZ) – Inconvenienced, restrained and lost ground near the 1300m when placed in restricted room to the inside of VIENNA EMPRESS causing it to be taken in and onto HARD REYVA which was taken in and bumped with THE BRUMBY. Jockey D Smith pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a). Jockey Smith’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days to commence M/N 11/11/22 and expire M/N 20/11/22. When asked to comment regarding the performance of TAREX, Jockey L Dittman stated that after suffering some early interference the gelding did not travel comfortably throughout the event and proved disappointing The Stifmeister – Raced wide. Race 5: CADE MEDIA BM58 Handicap 1600 metres Exalted Crown – Began awkwardly. Aliraaj (NZ) – Shifted out near the 200m when tiring. Tuki Twelve – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Point The Wagon – Raced wide. Kinkuna – Bumped on jumping. Soobpurb Dancer – Trainer advised that the gelding would be ridden midfield with cover. Ridden accordingly. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. Kellers Shelter – Began awkwardly. Harmony Reigns (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Set Me Up – Slow to begin. Race 6: HAPPY 40TH CRAIG WATT 'AKA' WATTY Class 2 Handicap1600 metres Absolute Charmer – Rider reported that the gelding was inclined to lay in and felt awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Contreras – Checked near the 200m when disappointed for a run to the outside of THE GOLDEN SOUL which rolled out. Enjouee (FR) – Jockey B Thompson reported that it had not been his intention to settle in a forward position however after being caught wide he elected to allow his mount to stride forward during the early stages. The Golden Soul – Shifted in on jumping. Laid out near the 200m when placed under pressure. Glashabee – Rider reported that the gelding coughed several times on pulling up. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Shopping Wise – Began awkwardly then bumped. Ay Bee Are – Disappointed for a run near the 200m and steadied. Boom Storm – Raced wide. Race 7: COLD CONTROL BM58 Handicap 1200 metres Winston Smurfhill (NZ) – Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight. Tycoon Hallie – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Mista Busy – Over raced early. Sebring Girl – Raced wide. Birkin Black – Raced wide. Race 8: CASTAWAYS POCKET WATERFRONT LAND BY PELICAN WATERS QTIS Three-Year-Old 1000 metres Mr Encore – Improved onto heels near the 500m and steadied. Zoumeteor – Trainer S Kendrick was fined $100 pursuant to LR67(1) for not declaring a rider by the prescribed time. Hung in throughout, particularly near the 300m and became awkward. Post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to be exhibiting clinical signs of the Thumps. Trainer S Kendrick advised that he will report back to Stewards anything further that comes to light regarding ZOUMETEOR’S performance. Deb's Ellie – Began awkwardly. Raced wide. Laid in during middle stages. Craiglea La Vie – Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight. Jockey H Richardson was advised to stop and straighten her mounts in similar circumstances. Race 9: CADE MEDIA Class 4 Handicap 1800 metres Shopping Esprit – Severely checked near the 200m. Jockey R Maloney pleaded guilty pursuant to AR131(a) in that he allowed his mount to shift in under pressure when approaching the 200m which resulted in Jockey S Collet having to check her mount from its rightful running and lose its position. R Maloney’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 days to commence M/N 19/11/22 and expire M/N 29/11/22.
