QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT SUNSHINE COAST TURF CLUB SATURDAY 19 NOVEMBER 2022 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Good 4, Good 3 after race 5 RAIL – True entire PENETROMETER – 6 OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – D. Hanson GENERAL Stewards permitted the following over weights for today’s meeting:Race 2: J. Byrne + 0.5kgRace 3: L. Tilley + 0.5kgRace 5: R. Maloney + 0.5kgRace 9: J. Orman + 0.5kg Stewards permitted the late scratching of LORD MARKEL (NZ) at 8:45am after trainer A. Campton advised the gelding had sustained a minor injury at its stable. Stewards advised trainer Campton a veterinary clearance would be required prior to its next start. Race 1: ARCHER PARK RACING QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1200 metres The start of this event was slightly delayed as a result of MISHANI PERFECTION proving difficult to load. Trainer L. Ross was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding. BOOMSTER – Raced in restricted room approaching the 900m. SHAMEDY – Bumped at the start. MISHANI AVIATOR – Laid in approaching the 900m. Bumped leaving the 100m. ON THE AMAZON – Began awkwardly. Shifted out under pressure inside the final 100m. MISHANI PERFECTION – Slow to begin. Laid inwards approaching the 900m and had to be steadied from heels. Forced wider momentarily leaving the 800m. Raced greenly throughout. Trainer L. Ross advised he would be removing the winkers prior to its next start. RINGER'S REWARD – Bumped at the start. Improved into a narrow run at the 900m and had to be steadied when MISHANI PERFECTION hung in when racing greenly. Shifted outwards leaving the 100m and bumped with MISHANI AVIATOR. MISHANI TWILIGHT – Began awkwardly and shifted outwards. Race 2: BROWN AND HURLEY BENCHMARK 78 Handicap 2200 metres KING'S CHARISMA – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. SAVVY OAK – Began awkwardly. A DEEL OF HUMOUR – Raced three wide in the early stages. EVRYNOW'N'THEN – Raced three wide until the 1100m. HILLCREST AVENUE – Forced wider rounding the home turn by GAMBU. POPULIST – Raced three wide from the 1400m. SIMON SAYS – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the middle stages. GAMBU – Began awkwardly. Race 3: RICE BOI 3YO Handicap 1600 metres SOOTHSAYER – A Post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to displaying signs of heat stress. TAPILDOODLEDO – Raced keenly in the early stages. SIAN STAR – Raced three wide throughout. ROADTRIP – Slow to begin. Held up in the early stages of the home straight. Approaching the 100m momentarily steadied when awkward at the heels of TAPILDOODLEDO. LADY LE DA – Raced three wide throughout. Race 4: SC PUNTERS CLUB Class 3 Handicap 1800 metres MOKTAFFY – Slow to begin. GREEN REIGN – Laid out under pressure in the home straight. BALMAURICE – Slow to begin. ENDLESS MYSTERY – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages. FLYING ROTHE – Raced wide throughout. Tired noticeability in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer R. Heathcote advised he would have tests conducted in the subsequent days and would advise stewards of the findings. NOAH 'N' A DEEL – Slow to begin. MILKA – Raced three wide until the 1400m. Race 5: INNOVATIVE PLANNING SOLUTIONS QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1000 metres THELWELL – Slow to begin. Improved onto heels at the 500m and had to be steadied. JEMELDI – Raced wide throughout. ALL THAT PIZZAZZ – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages. JOHNNY ROCKER – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. GOLDEN BOOM – Following the running of this event rider R. Maloney was examined by the club doctor and was declared unfit to fulfill his remaining engagements. HIDDEN WEALTH – Slow to begin. Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to a Good 3 Race 6: DEFINE PROPERTY BENCHMARK 85 Handicap 1400 metres STAR OF MICHELIN - Stewards permitted T. Brooker to replace R. Maloney as the rider of the gelding. Slow to begin.UCALLEDIT – Taken wider by THE DROVER over the final 200m. N. Beriman, the rider of THE DROVER, was reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(a) for failing to stop and straighten her mount when it began to shift ground. STARVIRGO – Raced three wide throughout. Raced keenly in the middle stages. ADELASE – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the middle stages. LOGAN STREET LION – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Rider J. Byrne advised the due to the slow tempo in the early and middle stages it was difficult to make ground from where he was positioned, and he was not disappointed with the performance of the gelding give the way the race was run. FLEETWOOD MACA – Shifted out under pressure at the 200m. THE DROVER – Shifted out under riding over the final 200m. Race 7: THE WHARF MOOLOOLABA SWISS ACE Plate 1000 metres SIMPLY FLY – Hampered at the 800m when CENTREFIRE laid in. Steadied from heels and lost ground approaching the 600m when CENTREFIRE laid in and away from MASTER JAMIE which also laid inwards. MASTER JAMIE – Laid in approaching the 600m. Raced wide throughout. SNEAKY FIVE – Steadied from heels at the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off foreleg. The mare was treated by the on course veterinary official. SUPERARE – Began very awkwardly and lost ground. JE SUIS BELLE - Stewards permitted L. Cassidy to replace R. Maloney as the rider of the mare. Slow to begin. CENTREFIRE – Laid in at the 800m. Laid in and away from MASTER JAMIE approaching the 600m. Race 8: TRAVIS SCHULTZ & PARTNERS MOOLOOLABA CUP 1600 metres HASABRO – Checked at the 900m when ULYSSES shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. HAIL MANHATTAN – When questioned regarding the apparent improve performance co-trainer W. Hulbert advised stewards that he had remove the blinkers from the gelding’s gear after its previous start and also at its previous start the gelding settled back in the field and worked home fairly however the horse had been racing well and he was expecting a forward showing in today’s event. TEARS OF LOVE – Held up for clear running at the 200m and had to be steadied. BOTTEGA– Slow to begin. ULYSSES – Raced keenly at heels approaching the 900m and when being restrained shifted in despite the efforts of its rider causing HASABRO to be checked. Cast its off-hind plate. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the off-hind leg. AUSSIE NUGGET – Slow to begin. LINTHORPE LAD – Inconvenienced at the 900m. STREET DANCER - A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off-hind leg. Trainer D. Vandyke was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to racing again. SALSONIC – Slow to begin. WITHOUT REVENGE – When asked to comment on the below market performance, rider T. Harrison the gelding raced very keen when leading and when placed under pressure in the home straight failed to respond to her riding which she attributed to it over-racing. Trainer D. Vandyke advised that the gelding would be sent for a spell. Race 9: KENDRICK RACING Class 6 Plate 1200 metres DR WHY NOT – Connections advised the gelding would be ridden in a less forward position than recent starts if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. SELEQUE – Bumped shortly after the start by ENABLER and lost ground. When asked to comment on the performance of SELEQUE, rider A. Jones stated she expected the mare to finish the race off better than it did and she was disappointed in the mare’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery. ENABLER – Slow to begin. Shifted in shortly after the start and bumped SELEQUE. PERSEIDS- Stewards permitted N. Beriman to replace R. Maloney as the rider of the gelding. Over-raced in the early stages. Improved onto heels and shifted wider at the 800m and raced three wide for the remainder.
