SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

GENERAL

Race 1: BARRIER REEF POOLS QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1600 metres

MISHANI MISSILE – Leaving the 500m shifted out to improve and in doing so made contact on a number of occasions with KING’S HALO.

TORQUE LEICA STAR – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the middle stages due to the slow tempo and shifted three wide for a short distance near the 1000m.

Race 2: MARTIN COLLINS AUSTRALIA Maiden Handicap 1600 metres

PRIVATE BANKER – Near the 250m shifted in under pressure resulting in RUFUS WINRIGHT being inconvenienced.

SET ABLAZE – Jockey T Brooker was reprimanded AR 132 (7)(a)(ii) for using her whip in a forehand manner 7 times prior to the 100m, 2 more than permitted.

TYSON'S FURY – Leaving the 400m shifted out slightly causing PLAYING HOOKIE to be tightened out onto the hindquarters of RUFUS WINRIGHT.

RUFUS WINRIGHT – Leaving the 400m made contact with PLAYING HOOKIE.

GAME STAR – Raced wide throughout.

HUSH PUPPY – Slow to jump.

PLAYING HOOKIE – Slow into stride. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. Leaving the 400m was tightened out onto the hindquarters of RUFUS WINRIGHT when TYSON’S FURY shifted out slightly.

A protest was lodged by the 3rd placegetter E Chaves (RUFUS WINRIGHT) against the 2nd placegetter PRIVATE BANKER (J Huxtable) alleging interference soon after entering the home straight until leaving the 300m.  After taking evidence from all parties it was established that TYSON’S FURY shifted out on the home turn resulting in PLAYING HOOKIE racing tight and being taken out onto the hind-quarters of RUFUS WINRIGHT. After passing the 300m PRIVATE BANKER did shift in under pressure resulting in RUFUS WINRIGHT having to alter course to the outside of that runner. Stewards could not be satisfied that the interference sustained warranted a reversal of placings and correct weight was declared on the original numbers.

Race 3: DOUBLE R GROUP Class 4 Plate 1200 metres

BADGERS NUTS – Reared as the gates opened, lost considerable ground.

AGARN – Raced wide throughout.

MENARI MAGIC – Leaving the 700m put in an awkward stride and became unbalanced.

WARRIORESS – Raced wide throughout.

SNEAKY THREE – Raced wide throughout.

KAYLEEN – Slow to begin.

Race 5: HAYMANS ELECTRICAL CALOUNDRA QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1000 metres

Jockey T Brooker was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.  Returned to the parade yard with blood in both nostrils.
