L Cassidy advised approaching the 200m he was reluctant to improve to the inside of DANEROCK when that runner was weakening and inclined to shift ground, adding that after placing I PONDER under pressure a short distance later the horse, in his opinion, finished the race off to the best of its capabilities given I PONDER is better suited to races over a longer distance than that of today. Awkwardly placed and held up when disappointed for a run to the inside of NORTHERN MELODY soon after entering the home straight resulting in both runners coming together and racing tightly for a short distance before OUT BACK BOOM securing clear running near the 100m.  Stewards spoke with M Potgieter, rider of OUT BACK BOOM, regarding the manner in which he attempted to obtain a run to the outside of REAL TIDY soon after entering the home straight which resulted in his mount being awkwardly placed at the heels of REAL TIDY for some distance. Of concern was the manner in which he attempted to direct his runner out when in close proximity to the heels of REAL TIDY. Stewards in taking the matter no further strongly advised M Potgieter that he should exercise greater care when attempting to shift ground in similar circumstances.

NORTHERN MELODY - Stewards spoke with K Wilson-Taylor, rider of NORTHERN MELODY, regarding his right elbow being placed in close proximity to the head of OUT BACK BOOM soon after entering the home straight.
