SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
GENERAL
Stewards approved the following jockeys to ride overweight.
Race 3 – Andrew Mallyon (Tracy’s Spirit) plus 1/2kg at 55.5kg
Race 3 – Michael Cahill (Miss Emma) plus 1/2kg at 55kg.
 
Jockey M. Powell was charged pursuant to AR218(4)(b) in that he had in his possession a mobile phone in the jockeys’ room. Jockey Powell pleaded guilty and was fined $200.
 
Apprentice K. Wilson-Taylor was charged pursuant to AR218(4)(b) in that he had in his possession a mobile phone in the jockeys’ room. Apprentice Wilson-Taylor pleaded guilty and was fined $200.
 
 
Race 1: WJM ACCOUNTANTS Maiden Plate 1600 metres
 
KARAPIRO – Shortly after the start, crowded between runners and shifted out marginally. Raced wide throughout.
 
PRIVATE BANKER – Shortly after the start was bumped and inconvenienced when LEINSTER shifted out. Raced wide for the majority. Laid in over the concluding stages.
 
ENVIABLE – Shortly after the start was bumped and became unbalanced when KARAPIRO rolled out. Rider J. Guthman-Chester reported that the gelding performed fairly and in his opinion would appreciate a step up in distance.
 
LEINSTER – Shortly after the start shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider. Near the 1400m, steadied from heels of UNCONVENTIONALLADY.
 
ROCKED – Jumped awkwardly. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the home straight.
 
BODDINGTON – Began awkwardly.
 
TAVIESLASS (NZ) – Shifted out across the heels of FAT FINGERS near the 200m.
 
UNCONVENTIONALLADY – Jockey N. Beriman was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that she used her whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
 
FAT FINGERS (NZ) – Shortly after the start was heavily bumped on the hindquarters, turned in and became unbalanced. Raced very wide in the early stages before restraining to a rearward position with cover approaching the 1000m.
 
 
Race 2: ARCHER PARK RACING Class 3 Handicap 1000 metres
 
ALLEZ ZOU (NZ) – Bumped heavily between runners on jumping and as a result lost ground. Forced wider near the 600m. Jockey J. Huxtable was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m, 2 more than permitted.
 
LIGHT OF BOOM – Began awkwardly. Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
I AM FEARLESS – Connections advised that the gelding will be ridden midfield and attempt to find cover. Ridden accordingly. Began very awkwardly and shifted out. Overraced in the early stages. Near the 600m, when the pace steadied and whilst over racing, shifted wider on the track. Continued to over race for some distance. Disappointed for a run near the 250m, before  shifting back to the inside in an attempt to gain clear running.
 
MISS BALTIMORE – When over racing passing the 500m, and shifted wider momentarily.
 
ALBERT'S IN CHARGE – Began very awkwardly and shifted in. Rider L. Allen bumped her right foot on the barrier partition on jumping.
 
 
Race 3: DUNLOP SUPER DEALER CALOUNDRA QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1000 metres
 
SHAMEDY – Began awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
SONNY DAZE – Began awkwardly and jumped inwards. Raced greenly over the final 150m and shifted out.
 
CHILLED – Slow to begin. Rider B. Thompson reported that after beginning poorly, he was obliged to settle further back than anticipated. Held up for clear running and in the early part of the home straight.
 
TRACY'S SPIRIT – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and until a point leaving the 300m. Raced very greenly over the final 200m.
 
FRIENDLY SIZZLE – Jumped awkwardly. When tiring, raced in restricted room leaving the 300m.
 
MISS EMMA – Slow to begin. Raced very greenly throughout and inclined to lay in which placed it at a disadvantage. Approaching finishing line obliged to steady from heels of a tiring runner. Trainer S. Foster was advised that the filly will be required to trial prior to racing again. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
 
Race 4: KLEIDON MASTERBUILT HOMES BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1600 metres
 
BETTER LAD – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running in the early part of the home straight. Disappointed for a run near the 300m between KELLERS SHELTER and ABOVE THE LOT. Disappointed for a run between those runners again near the 100m and went to line without being fully tested.
 
SINGER SARGENT – Slow to begin. When asked to comment on the performance of the gelding, jockey A. Mallyon reported that that the gelding raced flat and did not let down as expected in the home straight and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
KELLERS SHELTER – Laid out in the early part of the home straight.
 
SCAT'S SURFER GIRL – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Jockey G. Cartwright when asked to comment on the mares’ performance stated that after over racing early, proved very difficult to settle and was disappointing. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no significant findings.
 
 
Race 5: BLACK PLATINUM GROUP Class 2 Plate 1800 metres
 
HE'S VIRAL (NZ) – Approaching the 300m, obliged to steady from the heels of MAGIC MIKEY, which was tiring and rolled out slightly.
 
LEORED – Slow to begin.
 
VANTASTIC – Required adjustment to its crossover noseband prior to the start being effected. Over raced during the early stages. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn before improving, and again had difficulty obtaining clear running to a point passing the 200m.
 
MAGIC MIKEY (NZ) – Over raced and proved very difficult to settle in the early and middle stages, then laid in throughout. Jockey T. Harrison when asked to comment on the performance of MAGIC MIKEY, jockey Harrison reported that the gelding refused to settle and when attempting to restrain the gelding it may have choked off, and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
CASSOWARY – Slow to begin.
 
WILLNOTQUIT (NZ) – Over raced in the early stages.
 
 
Race 6: BASSETT BARKS Class 1 Handicap 1200 metres
 
DATA PATCH – Trainer A. Campton was advised that a warning was placed on the gelding when it reared on several occasions dislodging its rider behind the barriers.
 
 
Race 7: TAB MAGIC MILLIONS COUNTRY CUP QUALIFIER BENCHMARK 75 Handicap 1000 metres
 
DARE TO SHARE – Had its tongue tie refitted on arrival at the barriers. Raced wide throughout.
 
LA AMIGO – Began awkwardly.
 
FIVE OXFORD – Apprentice Y. Lewis was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m, 2 more than permitted.
 
KOSCIUSKO – Began very awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide throughout. Held up for clear running between the 300m and 120m.
 
STELLAR POWER – Stewards questioned Apprentice A. Jones regarding her vigour approaching the finishing line. After taking evidence, and in considering the proximity of runners directly in advance of Apprentice Jones, Stewards were satisfied with her explanation and noted the circumstances.
 
ZINGALONG – Raced very wide throughout.
 
SWAN ISLAND – Held up for clear running between the 200m and the 100m.
 
CHANGE IS COMING – Raced very wide throughout. Jockey R. King was asked to comment on the geldings’ performance, she reported that CHANGE IS COMING travelled wide throughout, despite that she was disappointed with its finishing effort and it was eased down over the concluding stages. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
