GENERAL
 
Stewards permitted the following weight variations at today’s meeting:
Race 7: DIVENIRE – E Chaves 55kg (+1kg)
 
 
Race 1: BARRIER REEF POOLS QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1200 metres
 
WORX – Slow to begin.
 
VIKING VALOUR – Raced wide in the early stages before being positioned outside the leader approaching home turn. Rider J Orman could offer no explanation for the poor performance of the horse. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
SAGE ADVICE – Began awkwardly.
 
 
Race 2: PERRY'S SUNSHINE COAST EVENT HIRE QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1200 metres
 
LIKE A LARK – Jumped in at the start and bumped NORTHERN PRIDE.
 
NORTHERN PRIDE – Bumped at the start. Shifted in under pressure in the home straight and bumped SIZZLING GAL on a number of occasions.
 
RED STAR RUBI – Slow to begin.
 
SIX SIDES – Passing the 150m rider T Brooker lost use of her offside rein resulting in her becoming unbalanced and being placed at some disadvantage for short distance thereafter.

SIZZLING GAL – Bumped by NORTHERN PRIDE on a number of occasions in the home straight.
 
 
Race 3: ALLCHIN AIRCONDITIONING & REFRIGERATION Class 5 Handicap 1000 metres
 
OVIDIUS – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ZINGALONG – Rider M Powell reported the horse travelled well in the early and middle stages however when placed under pressure in the home straight failed to respond to his riding.
 
OFFICE JIM – Laid out momentarily approaching the 800m. Leaving the 700m when racing in restricted room to the inside of POTENT VIEW, was bumped by that runner, became unbalanced and lost ground. Continued to lay out from that point for the remainder of the event. Lost near side plate in running.
 
KNOCKKNEE – Restrained at the start to a rearward position closer to the rails. Lost off fore plate in running.
 
POTENT VIEW – Shifted out under pressure near the 300m before being corrected by its rider.
 
 
 
Race 4: ROCKTEK EARTHMOVING QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1000 metres
 
The start of this event was delayed approximately 2 minutes when the tongue tie on LORD GOLD needed to be refitted.
 
CANELANDER – Bumped with BOMBOLEO at the start. Near the 900m raced in restricted, became unbalanced and had to be restrained from heels. When racing ungenerously near the 600m had to be restrained from heels.
 
CURRY LEGEND – Jumped in at the start and bumped LORD GOLD. Had difficulty secure clear running from the home turn until a point near the 100m.
 
EXTREME BELIEF – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Lost near hind plate in running.
 
ROCK LOBSTER – Laid in soon after entering the home straight when attempting to secure clear running.
 
RUNAROUND SUE – Crowded on jumping and lost ground. Near the 900m shifted in resulting in CANELANDER racing in restricted room. Leaving the 900m improved onto the heels of EXTREME BELIEF, had to be steadied and shifted out. Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event
 
TAMSIN – Inconvenienced near the 800m.Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
CAPITAL MEG – Inconvenienced near the 800m.Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
LORD GOLD – The tongue tie on the horse was refitted on arrival at the barriers. Bumped at the start.
 
BOMBOLEO – On arrival at the start the saddle was readjusted. Bumped with CANELANDER at the start.
 
HEROIC SPIRT - Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
PARTY SPIRIT - Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
 
Race 5: VILI'S FAMILY BAKERY Maiden Handicap 1000 metres
 
OUR ROCKETMAN – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
OUR ARMISTICE – Bumped at the start. Had difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
LOVEZELADYS – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
JENNATOP – Checked at the at the start and lost ground. Rider A Thompson reported after being checked at the start the horse was inclined to race greenly in the early stages and as a consequence lost touch with the main body of the field, adding that in the home straight when placed under pressure JENNATOP was inclined to lay in. Stewards noted the explanation.
 
PLUMS AKIMBO – Jumped in at the start and bumped OUR ARMISTACE. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
MISS TEFE – Near the 350m obliged to alter course to the outside to secure clear running.
 
 
Race 6: KENDRICK RACING BENCHMARK 65 Handicap1800 metres
 
I PONDER – Caught wide in the early and middle stages before progressing forward to race outside the leader approaching the 800m.
 
KOPANGI – Slow to begin.Leaving the 200m obliged to alter course to the inside of LOOKS LIKE to secure clear running.

FIREBOX – Had to be momentarily restrained when crossed by I PONDER approaching the 800m.
 
TORQUE LEICA STAR – Slow to begin.Over-raced in the early stages when the pace of the race was steady.
 
BOLD DELAGO – Slow to begin.Over-raced in the early stages when the pace of the race was steady.
 
 
Race 7: MOBECA INTERNAL LININGS & PARTITIONS BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1300 metres
 
FASTLING – Crowded between runners at the start and lost ground. Leaving the 900m improved onto the heels of POSSOVER, shifted out and bumped OUT BACK BOOM.
 
UNLIKELYOCCURRENCE – Bumped at the start. Leaving the 500m improved onto the heels and had to be steadied.
 
WITHOUT SHAME – Jumped out at the start and bumped AMBER BLONDE which lost ground.
 
OUT BACK BOOM – Bumped near the 900m.Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
HELL OF A PRINCE – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages of the event.
 
WHISTLING SPIRIT – Over-raced in the early stages of the event.
 
POSSOVER – The saddle on the horse was adjusted on arrival at the barriers. Jumped in at the start and bumped UNLIKELYOCCURANCE.
 
FEDERAL AGENT – Bumped at the start.Raced wide in the early stages of the event.
 
AMBER BLONDE – Bumped at the start and lost ground. Held up rounding the home turn and near the 300m had to be restrained from the heels of FEDERAL AGENT. Held up and unable to secure running from that point and went to the line without being fully tested by its rider.
 
DIVENIRE – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Rider E Chaves reported he was concerned with the horse’s action when placed under pressure and for that reason he desisted from pressuring DIVENIRE in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
 
Race 8: TAB Class 2 Handicap 1400 metres
 
PATTON – Held up for clear running from the entrance to the home straight until a point leaving the 150m.
 
JOLLY RUPERT – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the middle stages of the event when the pace was steady.
 
ELEGANT DROVER – From the wide barrier restrained at the start to a rearward position closer to the rails. Over-raced in the middle stages of the event when the pace was steady.
 
MIDNIGHT RAMBLER – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
CHAMPAGNE POP – Began awkwardly. Held up for clear running from the entrance to the home straight until a point leaving the 200m.
 
KABOOM – Held up for clear running from the entrance to the home straight before shifting wider on the track passing the 200m to secure clear running.
