Cassidy, rider of TYRESA. Stewards determined that there was no breach under AR132(7)(a)(ii) and no further action was taken. GENERALStewards approved the following overweights:Race 7. J. Huxtable +0.5kgRace 8. J. Huxtable +1kg Race 1: COASTLINE BMW X1 QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1200 metres MISHANI RAIDER – Held up in early stages of the home straight until the 200m. TRIFLING – Over raced during the early and middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. ARISTELLA – Raced wide throughout without cover. CERARED – Over raced during the early stages and as a result had to be steadied from the heels of ADELAD after passing the 900m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. FLYING MAPLE – Slow to begin. LUCKY LENI – Slow to begin. A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be displaying bilateral forelimb shin soreness. Trainer D. Forster reported that the filly will now go for a spell. Race 2: COASTLINE BMW XM BENCHMARK 85 Handicap 2400 metres GREEK HERO (GB) – Forced wider approaching the 800m and raced wide from that point onwards. Obliged to shift in passing the 100m. FIRST IN LINE (GB) – Over raced when the pace slackened approaching the winning post on the first occasion. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in both forelegs. A veterinary clearance is required prior to racing again. A DEEL OF HUMOUR – Steadied near the 900m after being forced wider for a short distance when FIRST IN LINE shifted out to improve. CHAYSE 'N' NOAH (NZ) – Slow to begin. SCILAGO – Slow to begin. Race 3: COASTLINE BMW X5 No Metro Wins Handicap 1600 metres BRILLIANT CONCEPT – Raced wide during the early stages. RUBY'S LAD – Raced wide without cover. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. DANEZEL – Apprentice A. Jones dropped her whip in the early stages of the home straight. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. FINSCEAL – Stood flatfooted and lost significant ground. Trainer C. Munce was advised that a warning will be placed on the geldings’ barrier manners. Mr Munce advised Stewards that he intends to enact a gear change to have gelding start in a barrier blanket at its next start. Race 4: COASTLINE BMW i4 Class 3 Plate 1400 metres AWE – Jockey S. Thornton commented that the gelding was disappointing when asked for an effort in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be stepping short in the near hind. Connections were advised that AWE will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again. BOLD HALO – Raced wide throughout LIABILITY – Raced wide throughout. Steadied shortly after the start to avoid the heels of LOVE SENSATION. In this incident, apprentice A. Jones was advised to exercise more care. Approaching the 1050m, was crowded and raced in restricted room for a number of strides to the inside of ATLANTIC EAGLE. ALERT AND READY – Checked off heels at the 1100m when racing in restricted room to the inside of DE MANARA, which was ridden to maintain a position to the inside of LIABILITY which shifted in marginally. Jockey K. Zechner was advised to stop and straighten his mounts when they shift ground in the future. DE MANARA – Approaching the 1050m, had to be restrained off heels when racing in restricted room to the inside of LIABILITY who was carried in by ATLANTIC EAGLE which shifted in whilst over racing. Apprentice K. Wilson-Taylor was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a). TRANQUIL BAY – Jockey B. Thompson commented that the mare was disappointing when asked for an effort in the home straight. Race 5: COASTLINE BMW 2 SERIES COUPÉ QTIS Three-Year-OldBENCHMARK 72 Handicap 1000 metres STEADY READY – Apprentice A. Jones commented on the colts’ performance said the colt failed to quicken in the home straight and may be looking for a spell. A post race veterinary examination revealed the colt to be displaying a slow post race recovery. Co-trainer Mr T. Sears reported to Stewards that he will have blood tests undertaken and will give the colt a short freshen up. HARD TO SAY – Began awkwardly and lost ground. AL PAL'S GAL – Whilst over racing and attempting to obtain cover was steadied from heels and shifted wider on the track near the 700m. SPOOKY SPIRIT – Became unbalanced when bumped by ALERT STATE near the 400m. ALERT STATE – Shifted out approaching the 400m in an attempt to secure clear running and in doing so came into contact with SPOOKY SPIRIT, causing both horses to become unbalanced. EXTREME BELIEF – Began awkwardly. Jockey B. Thompson commented that the filly was disappointing and may not have backed up from its previous start. A post race veterinary examination revealed minor abrasion to the off fore and slow post race recovery Race 6: COASTLINE BMW 3 SERIES OPEN Handicap 1000 metres REMLAPS GEM – Held up in the early stages of the home straight. STAMPE – Slow to begin.SIMPLY FLY – Jockey J. Orman was harmlessly dislodged in the enclosure and was examined by the Club doctor and cleared for his remaining engagements. THE BOPPER – On arrival at the gates, the gelding was found to have blood present in its off side nostril and was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 3.13pm. Stewards ordered that all monies invested in THE BOPPER be refunded in full with the following deductions to apply:1st SIMPLY FLY 54c win, 31c place2nd RUBIQUITOUS 28c place3rd STAMPE 32c placeTrainers’ representative Mr M. Eggleston was advised that the gelding will be required to gallop 1000m in the presence of a Steward prior to the gelding racing again. BOOM SPENDER – Underwent a pre race veterinary examination as the gelding had not raced in twelve months, and was passed suitable to race. Began awkwardly. MO'S CROWN – Apprentice J. Lloyd commented that he became concerned with the geldings’ action in the home straight and elected not to put pressure on the gelding over the concluding stages. A post race veterinary examination race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be displaying signs of the thumps. IRISH SONGS – Slow to begin. RUBIQUITOUS – Raced wide throughout. Race 7: COASTLINE BMW THE NEW iX1 QTIS Three-Year-OldHandicap 1600 metres MISHANI SPARTAN - Slow to begin. AFFOGATO GIRL – Began awkwardly and bumped with RED TOP. Steadied from heels near the 1400m. Hung out rounding the home turn. Jockey B. Thornton commented that the filly was disappointing and raced flat today. A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be displaying a poor post race recovery and mild heat stress. RED TOP – Began awkwardly and bumped with AFFOGATO GIRL. Over raced during the early stages. DEALING'S DONE – Co-trainers S. Laxon & J. Symons were fined $200 for late declaration of rider pursuant to LR67(1). The colt was examined by the veterinary surgeon on arrival at the barriers and was found to have a minor laceration to its tongue and was cleared to start. DIANA'S AFFAIR – Steadied off the heels of RED TOP near the 1300m, when that runner shifted in. PORKY – Bumped with ALPHA JANE on jumping. SATELLITE SPIRIT – Trainer C. Anderson advised of a potential change of tactics in that whilst the gelding led at its last start, it is the intention to have the gelding ridden with cover today if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. UNDER THE CAP – Slow to begin. Jockey J. Huxtable was reminded of his obligations to not use his whip when out of contention. Underwent a post race veterinary examination which revealed the gelding to be exhibiting mild heat stress. BETTER STRINGS – Slow to begin. ALPHA JANE – Bumped with PORKY on jumping. Race 8: COASTLINE BMW 7 SERIES SUNSHINE COAST CUP 1400 metres LAST CHANCE – Raced wide throughout. Hampered and became awkward in its stride when SEA RAIDER contacted its hindquarters near the 350m. SEA RAIDER – Whilst weakening was tightened for room by ROMAN AUREUS, which shifted out to improve near the 350m. Jockey L. Cassidy was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for shifting outwards when not fully clear. On returning to scale, jockey J. Adams was found to be in excess of 1/2kg overweight. At a subsequent inquiry, jockey Adams pleaded guilty to a charge under AR211(1) and was fined $400. ROMAN AUREUS – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. DERULO – Raced wide throughout. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and had to be steadied from heels when tightened for room leaving the 400m. STAR OF MICHELIN – Slow to begin. MATOWATAKPE – Raced wide for the majority. BOMBASAY – Jockey T. Brooker reported at scale that her mount hung out throughout. A post race veterinary examination revealed that BOMBASAY was displaying signs of the thumps. RELUCENT (NZ) – Slow to begin. Over raced during the early and middle stages. RENOUF – Slow to begin. Over raced in the early stages. Raced wide for the majority. Race 9: COASTLINE BMW PERFORMANCE REDEFINED BMW iBENCHMARK 80 Handicap 1200 metres STARVIRGO – Held up on rounding the home turn. PERSEIDS – Slow to begin. Obliged to race in restricted room for a short distance near the 300m, when unable to improve. BUNDYANDCOKE – Harrison – Over raced during the middle stages. Jockey T. Harrison commented that the pattern of the race didn’t suit the horse and she would have preferred to get out on the crown of the track. A post race race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be exhibiting signs of heat stress. KUDU – Over raced in the early stages. CHARGE ON (NZ) – Was found to be lame in the near forelimb when the gelding was found to have shifted a plate. CHARGE ON was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 5.04pm.
