Judge – P Chilton.Veterinarian – Dr D LauSwab Attendants – A Challen, L Chaplin.Starter – M Henderson. Race 1: BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS QTIS Two-Year-Old MaidenHandicap 1200 metres Conquistadores – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped with TORQUE BOSSANOVA. Laid in over the concluding stages. Noble Intent – Slow to begin. Torque Bossanova – Slow to begin. Shortly thereafter taken in by CONQUISTADORES, raced in restricted room and was inconvenienced. Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight. Pacific Harbour – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Shortly thereafter bumped by TORQUE BOSSANOVA which was taken in by CONQUISTADORES. Near the 900m raced greenly when racing in restricted room, contacting the rail and becoming unbalanced. Rider reported that the filly raced greenly throughout. Race 2: GARRARDS HORSE AND HOUND QTIS Three-Year-Old Coltsand Geldings Maiden 1000 metres Another Jack – Began awkwardly. Rider reported that it had been her intention to settle in the second half of the field from the wide barrier. Obliged to pressure the gelding near the 600m in order to stay in contact with the body of field. Raced greenly in the home straight when placed under pressure. Rider reported that the gelding then found the line strongly and would appreciate a step up in distance. Bauhinia Rock – Began awkwardly. Raced greenly and laid in under pressure in the home straight. Berava – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Near the 700m improved onto heels when over racing and was steadied by its rider. Raced greenly and laid in under pressure in the home straight. Invahir – Raced wide. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Rustic Boom – Trainer S Kendrick was fined $100 pursuant to LR67(1) in that he failed to declare a rider within the prescribed time. Began awkwardly, shifted out bumping with PANTHER POWER. Disappointed for a run to the inside of PANTHER POWER near the 300m, before shifting across heels in an attempt to secure clear running however, continued to be held up and went to the line unable to be being fully tested by its rider. Panther Power – Bumped on jumping and became unbalanced. Near the 200m raced in restricted room and became unbalanced. New Arrival – Raced greenly throughout. Obliged to alter course near the 150m to secure clear running after racing in restricted room to the inside of INVAHIR which shifted in. Justin Huxtable rider of INVAHIR was advised to exercise greater care and to stop and straighten his mounts in similar circumstances. Race 3: H & H AIR CONDITIONING Maiden Plate 1000 metres Chance At Midnight –Began awkwardly bumping with MARCH AS ONE. Laid out rounding the home turn. Daintree Dreaming – Raced in restricted room near the 850m and became unbalanced. March As One – Began awkwardly bumping with CHANCE AT MIDNIGHT. Birdie Belle – Put its head down as the start was effected and was slow to begin, shortly thereafter steadied from the heels of UPPER CLASS GIRL which shifted out. Raced in restricted room rounding the home turn and carried wider when CHANCE AT MIDNIGHT shifted out. Talantino – Raced in restricted room rounding the home before being carried wider. Upper Class Girl – Began awkwardly. Raced wide. Hung in at various stages throughout the event. Trainer G Cornish was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare regarding its racing manners. Trainer G Cornish advised that it would be his likely intention to remove the blinkers at its next start. Bemote – Near the 100m raced in restricted room and was inconvenienced when UPPER CLASS GIRL hung in. Deep Fire – Near the 850m raced in restricted room to the inside of UPPER CLASS GIRL which laid in. Raced wide. Easy Company – Raced wide. Carried wider rounding the home turn. Race 4: WILD HORSE TURF QTIS Three-Year-Old Fillies MaidenHandicap 1000 metres Caesaris – Began awkwardly. Held up rounding the home turn until approaching the 200m. Rider accidentally dropped his whip near the 100m. Ancient Mission – Raced wide. Blazing Love – Bumped on jumping and became unbalanced. Ciccone – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Held up rounding the home turn. Helene – Raced wide. Patti 'N' Fay – Began awkwardly. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn until a point near the 200m, Irish Maudie – Held up for a short distance passing the 200m. The Storm – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Race 5: OCEANVIEW HELICOPTERS BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1000 metres Hard Landing – Held up for clear running between the 300m and 100m. Highland Son – Slow to begin. Groomed – Obliged to alter course to secure clear running near the 150m. Kokopo Kitty – Slow to begin then hampered. Held up for clear running between the 150m and 100m. Win Burn – Tightened on jumping. Whoshotthemagician – Began very awkwardly and shifted out. Deep State – Raced wide. Ruinart – Checked on jumping when WHOSHOTTHEMAGICIAN shifted out abruptly and lost ground. Disappointed for a run and steadied near the 200m between LEPREEZY and WIN BURN which rolled out before obtaining clear running near the 150m. Race 6: BATTERY WISE SUNSHINE COAST BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1600 metres Daring Man – Forced wider near the 1200 and lost ground when VYNER shifted out when over racing before regaining a position nearer the rail passing the 1000. Whitewater – Bumped on jumping. Vyner – Shifted wider near the 1200m when the pace slackened before regaining a position nearer the rail passing the 1000m. Apprentice B Wheeler reported that after beginning very slowly the gelding began to over race when the pace slackened and proved difficult to settle which may have had a detrimental effect on its finishing effort and proved disappointing. Post- race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Alatar – Apprentice R Wilson was reprimanded pursuant to AR 132(7)(a)(ii) in that she used the whip 6 times prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted. Alvin The Bold – Began awkwardly. Buon Acquisto (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Raced wide early. Roman Heir – Bumped on jumping. Raced keenly early. Eyeleftit – Slow to begin then hampered.
