GENERAL
 
Stewards approved the following jockey to ride overweight.
Race 7 – Larry Cassidy plus 1/2kg at 55.5kg.

Race 2 - Kyle Wilson Taylor was fined $100 pursuant to AR 190 (3) for accepting a ride when overweight. Stewards permitted G Cartwright to replace jockey Wilson Taylor on LICENCE TO THRILL
 
 
Race 1: BARRIER REEF POOLS Maiden Handicap 1000 metres
 
The start of this event was significantly delayed as a result of Jake Malloy being injured in the mounting enclosure when attempting to mount DAULAT MERAH BESAR.
The gelding was subsequentlyDeclared a late scratching at 12:51pm. Apprentice J Malloy was treated by QAS personnel and the club doctor and stood down from his remaining engagements. Apprentice J Malloy was advised he will require a medical certificate prior to resuming.
 
Upon the declaration of correct weight stewards ordered all bets to be refunded on DAULAT MERAH BESAR with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers:
 
First RUBUNKAR: 4c the win 3c the place
Second COBURG: 8c the place
Third HELL APPROACHING: 6c the place
 
HELL APPROACHING - Began Awkwardly and lost ground. Improved onto heels approaching the 300m and was obliged to alter course to secure clear running.
 
KING TAURUS – Slow to begin.
 
RUBUNKAR-Raced greenly under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
DAULAT DIOMIAROSIA-Restrained from the wide barrier to a position closer to the rail. Raced wide.
 
VELVET REVOLUTION- Raced wide. Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight.
 
DRAGON CLAWS- Shifted out under pressure over the final 200m. Rider N Vuille was reprimanded pursuant to AR 132 (7) (a) (ii) in that she used the whip 7 times prior to the 100m, two more then permitted.
 
 
 
Race 2: MARTIN COLLINS AUSTRALIA Maiden Handicap 1000 metres
 
SCHMOOZER– Underwent a pre-race vet examination after being kicked in the race day tie up stalls, examined behind the barriers and cleared to start. Apprentice B Wheeler was charged and pleaded guilty pursuant to whip rule AR132 (7) (a) (ii) in that he used the whip 9 times prior to the 100m, four more then permitted and was fined $300.
 
ASTERN MAGIC – Slow to begin.
 
BERAVA – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after contacting a section of rail behind the barriers and was cleared to start.
 
SUPIDOCHARGED – Began awkwardly. Leaving the 200m became awkwardly placed at the heels of ASTERN MAGIC which shifted out under pressure. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
MONEY BEAR – Slow to begin.
 
ASHILLA – Began awkwardly.
 
LICENCE TO THRILL – Slow to begin.
 
 
 
Race 3: DOUBLE R GROUP QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1400 metres
 
 
DEELBREAKA – Began awkwardly and bumped at the start.
 
OUR DRUMMER – Bumped on the hind quarter shortly after the start.
 
FINE AND RARE – Bumped at the start.
 
FREDDIE – Hampered shortly after the start. Over raced in the early stages and approaching the 1100m shifted in and contacted the running rail. Held up upon entering the home straight until approaching the 250m point. Near the 100m rider S. Collett dropped her whip.
 
IMPENDING RAIN – Hampered shortly after the start. Had to be steadied leaving the 1100m.
 
READY TO THUNDER – Approaching the 500m was momentarily steadied while giving ground between runners. Finished a significant distance from the main body of the field and underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer T Thomas was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding regarding its poor performance.
 
POWERALONG – Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early stages when being restrained. Raced wide.
 
BETTER YET – Shifted in under pressure approaching the winning post.
 
PUSH TURBO – Shifted out on jumping. Steadied leaving the 1100m.
 
ALL NEW HUSTLE – Hampered on jumping.
 
FIDDLER ONTHE ROOF – Raced wide. Became awkwardly placed at the heels of FINE AND RARE approaching the 50m point and had to be steadied.
 
 
Race 4: WIMMERS PREMIUM SOFT DRINKS Fillies and Mares Class 1
Handicap 1200 metres
 
SPRING VALLEY–Slow to begin. Cast the near hind plate. Was unable to secure clear running over the final 50m metres and was unable to be fully tested by its rider.
 
VONZITHER– Over raced in the early stages when being restrained.
 
SILVER PEARL – Contacted the outside barrier partition on jumping.
 
TOKYO SINS – Raced wide. Laid in for the majority. Stewards advised trainer N Hocking that a warning would be placed on the racing manners of the mare. Post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer N Hocking advised the mare will now be spelled.
 
AFRICAN STORM – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Near the 800m when racing keenly improved onto heels and had to be steadied.
 
CARRY ON DRAGON – Raced wide.
 
I AM WINKLES – Raced wide. Raced keenly approaching the 800m, a short distance later when racing in restricted room became unbalanced and had to be steadied.
 
 
 
Race 5: ACCESS INSULATION SUNSHINE COAST Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 1 Handicap 1200 metres
 
The start of the race was significantly delayed when the rider of CHAIRMAN was required to re-weigh. Mr Craig Cavanagh stable representative for T Gollan was charged and pleaded guilty pursuant to AR 227 (a) in that he was negligent for failing to properly saddle the colt which was required jockey B Thornton to re-weigh after the led bag was omitted. Stewards after considering the matter fined Mr Cavanaugh $300.
 
BULIKOV – Began awkwardly making contact with the barrier partition.
 
CHAIRMAN – Began awkwardly.
 
SPICY SONIC – Buffeted on jumping. Raced wide. Improved onto heels approaching the 500m and had to be steadied.
 
TRAITORS' GATE – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Raced wide. Laid in under pressure whilst weakening in the home straight.
 
TWYFORD – Buffeted on jumping and lost ground.
 
AGARN – Began awkwardly. Raced very wide. Laid in under pressure whilst weakening in the home straight.
 
ROCKATANSKY – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Proved difficult to load. Further delaying the start. Trainer T Hurley was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding regarding its barrier manners.
 
 
Race 6: TAB BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1000 metres
 
 
HOROWITZ – Began awkwardly and obliged to steady from heels and lost ground. Raced wide.
 
ROYAL NICCI – Eased down approaching the winning post after the rider had concerns with the action of the mare. Underwent post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Chris Anderson advised stewards that should something become apparent in the ensuing days which may have affected its performance he would advise stewards.
 
IMMORAL – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight until the 200m.
 
THE POWER OF ONE – Was obliged to steady approaching the 900m from the heels of IMMORAL which shifted in when not fully clear. The rider of IMMORAL C Collis was advised to allow greater clearance when shifting ground.
 
CRACKING THUNDER – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
RALPHIE – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Held up rounding the home turn until approaching the 200m. Leaving the 200m shifted in and away from REGAL CONQUEROR and as a result brushed MARTINI MOMENT
 
REGAL CONQUEROR – Raced wide. Shifted in leaving the 200m point before being collected by its rider.
 
WHAT A SHAM (NZ) – Restrained from the wide barrier as the start was affected. Over raced in the early and middle stages.  
 
CARRIER BUSTER – Approaching the 200m momentarily steadied when RALPHIE shifted out to improve. Rider S Cormack was advised to exercise greater care in the future when shifting ground.
 
MARTINI MOMENT – Leaving the 200m was bumped. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed the mare to be displaying the effects of Heat stress and clinical signs of the ‘thumps’.
 
CUSHY (NZ) – Bumped shortly after the start. Raced wide.
 
EVERLASTING STARS – Raced wide.
 
 
Race 7: KLEIDON MASTERBUILT HOMES BENCHMARK 58 Handicap
1400 metres
 
BRENTWOOD – Approaching the 100m shifted in under pressure resulting in the rider having to stop and straighten the gelding.
 
DO WELL LEGEND – Shifted in under pressure approaching the 200m.
 
SLEIGH QUEEN – Raced in restricted room approaching the 200m between IRONSIDE and DO WELL LEGEND which both shifted ground.
 
IRONSIDE – Began very awkwardly and lost ground.
 
ULTIMATE OUTCOME – Raced wide from the 800m.
 
AGENT OF MAYHEM – Approaching the 1100m raced ungenerously for a short distance. Had a tendency to lay in approaching the 600m until the 500m. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
KALEA – Became awkward at the heels of IRONSIDE which shifted out to improve.
 
PARISIAN LADY– Began awkwardly. Held up rounding the home turn. Approaching the 250m improved onto heels and had to be steadied before shifting inwards to secure clear running. Improved onto heels again at the 50m and was unable to be fully tested.  
 
TICINO BELLE – Bumped on jumping.
