Stewards approved the following overweights:

Race 1: CMBM GOLD COAST Class 1 Handicap 1800 metres
 
ROCK UP (NZ) – Jockey M. Butler was fined $300 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
BURNT BY BERNIE – Over raced during the middle stages. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight. On return to scale, it was noted that jockey Loy’s saddle slipped in running.
 
AMERICAN PIONEER – Over raced during the middle stages.
 
TEXAS HOLD'EM – Slow to begin. Cast the off fore plate in running.
 
NOTHIN' BUT LOOKS – Underwent a pre- race veterinary examination on arrival at barriers after knuckling over in the enclosure and was cleared to start. At the 200m obliged to alter course to secure clear running.
 
CITY MISSION – Began awkwardly. Near the 1700m when racing keenly, had to be steadied when crossed by BURNT BY BERNIE.
 
STAR DIVA – Slow to begin.
 
Race 2: CMBM TOOWOOMBA Class 3 Handicap 1600 metres
 
ASWAAT – Slow to begin. Over raced during the early stages. At the 800m, had to be restrained off the heels of SEEFELD.
 
BETTER EXPLAIN – Over raced during the early stages.
 
CHANEL (NZ) – Began awkwardly. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
ABAN (NZ) – Approaching the 250m, was obliged to alter course after ATLANTIC EAGLE shifted in under pressure. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
SEEFELD – Began awkwardly. Shifted out over the final 50m.
 
Race 3: CMBM SUNSHINE COAST Maiden Handicap 1400 metres
 
VICTORY'S GHOST – Began awkwardly. Raced greenly in the home straight when placed under pressure. When asked to comment on the performance of VICTORY’S GHOST, trainer Mr G. Taylor advised he may consider adding winkers to the gelding’s gear at its next start and also indicated he would now look to step the gelding up in distance. Trainer G. Taylor was advised that a warning will be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
 
I AM ARTIE – Began awkwardly.
 
ROCKATHON – Held up for clear running on rounding the home turn.
 
GLEN MASSEY (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
SHOOTING JET – Displaced nose roll in running.
 
CUVEE – When questioned regarding the performance of the filly, jockey K. Wilson-Taylor could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. A post race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the off foreleg. Trainer Mr D. Vandyke was advised that CUVEE will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
WHIZ BY – Laid out round the home turn.
 
ROMEUS – Hampered shortly after the start.
 
WELCOME MY LADY – Began awkwardly.
 
CANNY BOY – Raced wide throughout
 
CHANCE WITH WOLVES – Began awkwardly. Improved onto heels at the 800m and was obliged to shift wider.
 
ENOLABA – Hampered on jumping.
 
TORQUE ESPAGNA – Began awkwardly.
 
JESTER STATEMENT – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running approaching the home turn. Obliged to alter course near the 300m. advised that the mare would appreciate a step up in trip where it may be able to secure a position in the run. Jockey S. Race 4: CMBM BUNDABERG Maiden Handicap 1400 metres
 
DARK TANGENT – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Raced wide throughout. Rider J. Orman advised at scale that his instructions were to secure cover on the gelding, however, from the wide draw and the slow early tempo he was unable to comply with these instructions and was caught racing wide throughout.
 
CALDANTE – Laid in early stages.
 
KUBWA – Began awkwardly. At the 1000m when the pace of the race was only steady, improved onto heels and shifted out. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. At the 250m was obliged to alter course to secure clear running.
 
SCHMEICHEL – Jockey J. Byrne advised Stewards at scale that the gelding would derive benefit from today’s event.
 
SECRET RED – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide throughout. Leaving the 800m improved onto the heels of SCHMEICHEL when the pace was only steady, resulting in the rider having to check and shift wider.
 
HALLSIDE MARTINI – Slow to begin. Raced keenly middle stages when the pace was only steady. Held up rounding home turn and early stages of the home straight. Jockey C. Bayliss reported that his mount raced greenly in the early stages.
 
CEE EYE CEE – Approaching the winning post improved onto heels and had to be steadied.
 
TOPTIMISTIC – Jockey S. Collett was replaced by T. Marshall. Stewards accepted Ms Collett’s reasons for being unable to ride today. Began awkwardly. Steadied from the heels of CEE EYE CEE at the 900m.  
 
HUSH PUPPY – Stewards questioned apprentice M. Potgieter regarding the tactics to lead in today’s event which was against the horses usual racing pattern. Mr Potgieter stated that he was advised of no specific instructions, apart from having the horse travel where it was comfortable. However, after beginning well he found himself in a forward position and with no other pace shown by other runners, he elected to take up the leading position rather than racing wide. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer K. Afford was advised that a warning would be placed on HUSH PUPPY for poor performance.
 
Race 5: CMBM GLADSTONE QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1600 metres
 
MISHANI SPARTAN – Slow to begin.
 
FEARLESS KNIGHT – Leaving the 1400m raced in restricted room for a short distance. Held up on rounding the home turn.
 
ALTAR BOY – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Jockey M. Cahill advised Stewards that the gelding had a tendency to hang out and proved difficult to settle during the event. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be coughing. Trainer S. Kendrick was advised that ALTAR BOY will require a veterinary clearance including the results of a endoscopic examination.
 
REBEL NEWS – Began awkwardly. Leaving the 1400m, had to be restrained from the heels of LAST CHANCE SALOON which shifted in when not fully clear. Jockey K. Wilson-Taylor was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.
 
LAST CHANCE SALOON – Trainer Mr D. Vandyke advised Stewards of a change of tactics in that they will endeavour to ride the gelding in a more forward position. Ridden accordingly. Cast the near hind plate in running.
 
PARISIAN LADY – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
 
Race 6: CMBM MACKAY Fillies and Mares BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1000 metres
 
DON'T DOUBT KATIE – Began awkwardly. Checked shortly after the start between O’MISS BEHAVING and ARQUERA which both shifted ground. At the 750m, improved onto the heels of O’MISS BEHAVING and had to be steadied. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
RELIABLE RUBY (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Held up for clear running on rounding the home turn. Approaching the 350m, shifted out to improve and bumped SMASHINGPLATES.
 
DREAM ENTITY – Laid in approaching the 350m and bumped ARQUERA. Apprentice D. McGillivray dropped his whip near the 200m.
 
O'MISS BEHAVING – Improved onto heels near the 50m and had to be steadied.
 
SMASHINGPLATES – Near the 350m bumped by RELIABLE RUBY.
 
ARQUERA – Approaching the 300m, was crowded for room and had to be steadied when DREAM ENTITY laid in, and SMASHINGPLATES was taken outwards by RELIABLE RUBY. Rider of RELIABLE RUBY, Mr J. Orman, was reprimanded for this incident under AR131(a). In issuing a reprimand only, Stewards were mindful of the movement of DREAM ENTITY which played a part in this incident.
 
Race 7: CMBM FACILITY SERVICES Colts, Geldings & Entires BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1000 metres
 
GROOMED – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped ADONISEA.
 
THE RATTLESNAKE – Laid in during the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
TERSANE (NZ) – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
BACK WHEN – Slow to begin.
 
SONGZILLA – Began awkwardly.
