Loveridge GENERAL Stewards approved the following overweight allowances at today’s meeting: Race 8 – A BIG CHANCE – M Butler +1kgRace 8 – LIKEABEEL – C Bayliss +1kg Race 1: Sunshine Coast Flooring Xtra QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1000 metres TORQUE I TEE – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. SHE'S A ROGUE – Slow to begin. DEFIANT SPIRIT – Slow to begin, raced greenly early and middle stages. Laid in under pressure over the final stages. AVOIDS – When asked to comment, Trainer Les Ross indicated in light of today’s performance he would be discussing with the owners the horses immediate racing future. Race 2: 24/7 Agents QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1000 metres CANNON HILL – After having difficulty obtaining a clear run rounding the home turn, laid in under pressure in the home straight. BOOM KING – Began awkwardly and bumped with CURRY LEGEND. Held up rounding the home turn. CURRY LEGEND – Tightened for room at the start and became unbalanced. STANAGE BAY – Bumped on jumping. When racing greenly, laid in near the 800m and was obliged to steady when racing in restricted room near the 650m. Race 3: Q.E.B.S BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1800 metres AMORE PRIMUS – Slow to begin. LUVYOUANYTIME – Momentarily held up for clear running rounding the home turn. LEORED – Significantly slow to begin, Trainer S. Mackinnon was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding. Race 4: Sunshine Mitre 10 OPEN Handicap 1300 metres INDISPENSABLE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. MAGIC CHARLEE – Began awkwardly, bumped BROOK HILL. BAANONE (NZ) – Slow to begin. KUZCO LAD – Trainer K. Sempf advised Stewards prior to the race that the gelding will attempt to be ridden further back in the field with cover if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. BROOK HILL – Bumped after start. Race 5: Coast Life Homes QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1400 metres CALDANTE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after the gelding contacted the fence as it left the enclosure and was cleared to start. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Jockey J. Bayliss was reprimanded under rule AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip 6 times prior to the 100m. KOZANI – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. FREDDIE – Began awkwardly. WHISKEY AND BEER – Slow to begin. Steadied from heels near the 700m. INVAHIR – Began awkwardly. TATTLE – Approaching the 650m was steadied from heels and had to be steadied again at the 500m. Obliged to alter course approaching the 100m in order to secure clear running. Race 6: A.I.T.C Class 3 Handicap 1000 metres THE RATTLESNAKE – Raced wide throughout, laid in and became unbalanced near the 700m after making contact with DIVINE OKAY and continued to lay in for the remainder of the event. LA PETITE MISSILE – Over raced in the middle stages. MONTANA LADY – Steadied near the 800 when tightened by SPILL THE TEARS. Jockey M. Du Plessis was advised to exercise greater care. UNLIKELYOCCURRENCE – Slow to begin. CHIKARA – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers after making contact with the fence when leaving the enclosure and was cleared to start. Race 7: Caloundra City Autos Fillies and Mares BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200 metres ALAMIRA – Slow to begin. WHAT A SHAM (NZ) – Steadied from its wide barrier to take a trailing position. Held up rounding the home turn and into the early stages of the home straight. BARBARY ROYALE – Forced wide near the 700m. SELFIE TIME (NZ) – Began awkwardly and lost ground. ABOVE THE LOT – Held up for clear running from the 300m and was obliged to check from heels approaching the 200m. SECRET MEMO – Began awkwardly. D'ESPRIT – Raced wide without cover. Race 8: Direct Collective WINTER PROVINCIAL STAYERS - HEAT - BENCHMARK 75 Hand 2200 metres READILY AVAILABULL– Laid in from the 400m onwards. GO MILLO – When asked to comment, Jockey B. Wheeler stated that the gelding over raced in early and middle stages and in his opinion, this had a detrimental effect on the gelding’s overall performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. HILLCREST AVENUE (IRE) – Was disappointed for a run after passing the 400m and as a result was held up for clear running from the 300m until passing the 200m. Lost near fore plate. A BIG CHANCE – Began awkwardly. ROMAN DAGGER (NZ) – Trainer C. Geran was fined $100 pursuant to LR 67(1) in that he failed to declare a rider within the prescribed time. Began awkwardly.
