GENERAL
Stewards permitted the following weight variations at todays meeting:
Race 3 No11 MR MAHARAJ- M. Powell +1kg
 
Race 1: COMMAND PROJECTS MAIDEN HANDICAP 1600M
 
 
Iberian Ruler (NZ)- Wide during the early stages.
 
Word From Above- Began awkwardly and bumped with ANOTHER DAZZLER. Raced wide until approaching the 800m when permitted to stride forward to the lead.
 
 
Power Flash- Raced wide and over raced during the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Troubleshoot (NZ)- Held up momentarily approaching the home turn. Lost near fore plate during the race.
 
Velociraptor- Over raced in the early stages. Post race vet examination revealed that the horse bled from both nostrils. Pursuant to AR 79 will banned from any race for a period of 3 months and must gallop 1000m in the presence of a steward prior to racing again.
 
Another Dazzler- Bumped and tightened for room by WORD FROM ABOVE on jumping away. Over raced in the early stages.
 
Race 2: NELMES BROTHERS CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1800M
 
Without Revenge (GB)- Over raced when leading in the early to middle stages.
 
Makedon- Steadied approaching the 1600m when awkwardly at placed heels. Shifted out approaching the 400m and bumping MASTER MARKO.
 
Enuff He Said- Raced wide throughout.
 
Master Marko (NZ)- Hung in under pressure in the home straight. Bumped and forced wider at the 400m by MAKEDON.
 
Dhakuri (NZ)- Slow to begin. Help up approaching the home turn.
 
Contribute (NZ)- Jockey B. Thompson reported that from the wide barrier he was obliged to settle further back in the field than he would have liked.
 
Gulf Of Saros- Shifted wide at the 800m and raced wide from that point onwards.
 
Pennyworth- Slow to begin. Over raced in the early stages.
 
Jac The Great- Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 3: HAPPY 100TH KEITH COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1000M
 
Prior the start of CAPTAIN BOND was declared a late scratching at 2.10pm by order of the stewards when the gelding was unable to be loaded into the barriers. At the declaration of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on CAPTAIN BOND be refunded with the following deductions on all winning bets.

3rd ZOOCUPLOA 13 cents
 
Groovin' The Moo- Raced wide throughout. Apprentice J. Williams was found guilty of a charge pursuant to AR 132 (7)(a)(ii) in that using his whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m (1 more than permitted).
 
Invinovich- Raced in restricted room for a short distance approaching the 600m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Cast a near fore plate in running.
 
Captain Bond- Declared a late scratching @2:10pm, unable to load. Trainer P. Robl was notified a further barrier certificate will be required prior to racing again.
 
Mr Maharaj- Slow to begin.
 
 
 
 
Race 4: JMJF PTY LTD FILLIES AND MARES CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1000M
 
Prior to correct weight apprentice jockey E. Lang made application to have STEEL MY THUNDER declared a non-runner as she felt the horse was denied a fair start. After viewing the footage and listening to all evidence the stewards found that STEEL MY THUNDER had reared as the start was affected and were satisfied that other than for the geldings own actions had been afforded a fair start and correct weight was declared.
 
Smashingplates- Raced wide throughout.
 
Bringonthebubbles- Raced wide throughout. It had difficulties obtaining clear room approaching the home turn.
 
Casrock- Held up for clear running from the 600m and until the 400m. Obliged to raced in restricted room over the concluding stages.
 
 
Pianist- M. Cahill reported that it had been his intention to ride further back in the field however after beginning well he was unable to sufficiently restrain his mount and raced wide throughout.
 
Steel My Thunder- Reared at the start and lost ground. Over raced onto heels approaching the 800m and had to be restrained. Raced in restricted room approaching the 600m.
 
Sneaky Starter- Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
Race 5: XRAY ADDITIONS MAIDEN HANDICAP 1000M
 
Prior to the start of the event ROCK LOBSTER and MAGNATIC became fractious in the barriers and underwent veterinary examinations and were subsequently scratched from the race by order of the stewards at 3:22pm and 3:23pm respectively. At the declaration of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on ROCK LOBSTER and MAGNATIC be refunded with the following deductions on all winning bets.

Hell Approaching- Slow to begin.
 
A Lot Of Booty- Raced wide throughout.
 
Magnatic- Declared a late scratching on vets advice at 3:23pm.
 
 
Tycoon Torque- Became awkward in its actions approaching the 400m and was restrained from the event. Post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have fractured the near fore sesamoid. After undergoing treatment on course was transported to the Sunshine Coast Veterinary surgery for further treatment.
 
Final Selection- Slow to begin.
 
With Intent- Obliged to raced in restricted room at the 800m and was steadied when racing on the inside of ANOTHER JACK.
 
Boom Boom Bella- Held up for clear running when approaching the home turn and until the 200m.
 
Ready To Boom- Over raced during the middle stages.
 
Emily Ninetynine- Raced wide throughout.
 
Vagabond Prince- Slow to begin.
 
Rock Lobster- Declared a late scratching on vets advice at 3:22pm. Trainer R. Kelly has been notified that ROCK LOBSTER will require a further barrier certificate prior to racing again. Post race examination revealed to be lame in the near fore leg and trainer R. Kelly was notified that vet certificate will be required prior to racing again.
 
Race 6: CLOAK AND STAGGER CLASS 6 HANDICAP         1200M
 
The start of this event was delayed due to the transportation of TYCOON TORQUE off course in the previous event and further delay when FIXATED became fractious and was examined by the vet, it was found to be lame in the near hind leg and was declared a scratching on vets advise at 3:58pm.At the declaration of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on FIXATED be refunded with the following deductions on all winning bets.

Trainer R. Heathcote representative was advised FIXATED would require a vet certificate prior to its next start.
 
Kingston's Here- Obliged to race in restricted room passing the 800m.
 
Reality- Slow to begin.
 
South Parade (NZ)-Obliged to race in restricted room passing the 800m.
 
Magnus Bellagio- Due to a late arrival on course MAGNUS BELLAGIO underwent a pre race vet examination and was cleared to start. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and until the 300m.
 
He Knows- Raced wide throughout.
 
Iring- Due to a late arrival on course IRING underwent a pre race vet examination and was cleared to start. Slow to begin. Over raced during the early stages and laid in the straight.
 
Vetta Velocita- Slow to begin. Over raced in the early and middle stages.
 
Fixated- Declared a late scratching vets advise at 3:58pm
 
Race 7: LASK 0 - 62 HANDICAP  1200M
 
Zhuang Shi- Began awkwardly. Over raced in the middle stages.
 
Rustic Boom- Began awkwardly.
 
Champagne Pop- Restrained shortly after the start to obtain a position closer to the rail. Over racing passing the 500m and inclined to lay out.
 
Ready For Better- A post race vet examination revealed that the horse was found to be lame in the near fore. Trainer C. Anderson was notified that a vet certificate will be required prior to racing again.
 
Duly Elected- Raced wide throughout. A post race vet examination revealed that the horse had Cardiac Arrythmia. Trainer T. Gollan’s representative was notified that a vet certificate will be required with the results of an ECG prior to racing again.
 
Sugarpiehoneybunch- Held up rounding the home turn.
 
Brave Maso- Trainer N. McCall was fined $100 pursuant to LR 67 for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time. Raced wide throughout.
 
Prince Of Sooview- Began awkwardly and bumped IN BARCELONA.
 
In Barcelona- Bumped shortly after the start. Over raced in the early stages.
 
Race 8: RDR BM65 HANDICAP 1400M
 
Endless Mystery- Inside the final 100m jockey M. Cahill was forced to shift back to inside to avoid the heels of FINSCEAL.
 
Finsceal- Stood flat footed and lost significant ground. When approaching the 100m after having improved to the inside of MOTION LEGEND was tighten for room between that gelding and FAT FINGERS which had improved to a tight run on the inside of BETTER LAD, as a result as this tightening FINSCEAL was obliged to check. Stewards inquired into this incident and found that after FAT FINGERS had improved into restricted room both BETTER LAD and MOTION LEGEND had shifted slightly, however as both D. Thornton (MOTION LEGEND) and M. Powell (BETTER LAD) stopped riding and straighten their mounts no action was taken.
 
Sempreinte- Raced wide until the 800m.
 
 
Yes To Excess- Bumped shortly after the start by MAKE IT FLASHLY. Raced wide throughout.
 
Make It Flashy- Began awkwardly and bumped YES TO EXCESS. Over raced in the early stages. Raced greenly and laid in the home straight.
