GOLD REVOLUTION – Began awkwardly and lost significant ground. After passing the 400m was obliged to alter course when disappointed for a run. REVITUP CHARLIE – Raced greenly in the middle stages. Race 2: STRATA COMPLIANCE SOLUTIONS CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1000 M AMERICAN PRESIDENT – Obliged to race in restricted room over the final 100m when racing to the inside of TITANS and had to be steadied. HARDWARE LANE – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and when disappointed for a run near the 300m was obliged to alter course to the outside of TITANS. THATFEELSBETTER – Slow to begin. KEETA – Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a minor laceration on its near fore leg. SHALAA'S MOMENT – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Near the 900m had to be steadied when placed in restricted room to the inside of THETOYBOY, which shifted in. Apprentice S. Champkin rider of THETOYBOY was reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(a) for this incident. Stewards inquired into the tactics adopted by Apprentice E. Lang in the home straight which resulted in her mount being held up for clear running between the 200m and leaving the 100m. Apprentice Lang stated that she would’ve preferred to have settled in a more forward position, however her mount began awkwardly, and she was obliged to settle at the tail of the field. She indicated that, when approaching the home turn and following the stable mate THATFEELSBETTER, she elected to not shift wider and follow the stable mate as she did not wish to race too wide in the home straight and she attempted to improve to the inside of that runner in attempt to secure clear running between TITANS and DELYTH, however, this run closed shortly after entering the straight and as a result her mount was held up. Apprentice Lang accepted that in hindsight she had erred and would have been better served following THATFEELSBETTER and ultimately shifting out following that horse after the straight. Stewards agreed with these comments however given Ms Langs status as an apprenticed, elected to take no further action. THETOYBOY – Slow to begin. Race 3: BOSS BUILDING MAINTENANCE FILLIES AND MARES MAIDEN HANDICAP 1000 M MIDNIGHT SEAS – Approaching the 600m, obliged to race in restricted room to the inside of KISSED BY EVIE and was steadied as a result. HOW YA BEEN ANYWAY – Held up from the 600m up until passing the 400m. Obliged to steady from heels of DAWN PARTY near the 200m when that horse shifted in. DAWN PARTY – Began awkwardly. Attempted to force a run leaving the 300m between NEARA REWARD and OCTAVIO which was racing to the outside. As a result, initiated contact with OCTAVIO causing both horses to become unbalanced. Shortly after this incident DAWN PARTY was obliged to shift back to the inside to secure clear running. Laid out under pressure over the final 100m. ROMEUS – Over-raced badly in the early stages. WILLNOTQUIT (NZ) – Passing the 1300m, raced in restricted room when ANATIN shifted in. RICHUNCLEMONEYBAGS – Commenced to over race approaching the 1400m and was permitted to stride forward to the lead and weakened badly in the home straight. Trainer L.
