Race 1: MISTER SHADE QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1000 Metres
 
CHAYSE 'N' PENNY – When asked to comment on the performance of CHAYSE ‘N’ PENNY, jockey R. Maloney explained that the gelding raced greenly throughout and could offer no other explanation for its performance. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be stepping short in the near hindleg. Trainer L. Kelly was advised that CHAYSE ‘N’ PENNY will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again. Trainer Mr L. Kelly reported that on returning to its stable that the gelding had aggravated a hamstring and will be sent for an immediate spell.
 
MISHANI FEARLESS – Raced wide for the majority. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
MISHANI REACTOR – Tightened on jumping. Brushed the running rail near the 600m and put in awkward stride. Approaching the home turn, momentarily held up for clear running. Jockey M. McDonald was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, being one more than permitted.
 
RIVER ROGUE – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
MISHANI UNLAWFUL – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Near the 600m, improved onto the heels of MISHANI REACTOR and was inconvenienced.
 
VALLEY OF OWLS – Began awkwardly. Lost the off fore plate in running.
 
 
Race 2: PROPERTY VINE QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP 1000 Metres
 
BOLD COMIC – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn until the 300m.
 
TORQUE I TEE – Slow to begin.
 
BOSSED UP – Began awkwardly. Over raced during the early and middle stages.  
 
TENGUN READY – Raced wide throughout.
 
JOJO RABBIT – Began awkwardly. Momentarily laid out approaching the 100m. Co-trainer M. Hoysted reported that following today’s performance it was the likely intention for the filly to go for a spell.  
 
 
Race 3: JET PLUMBING & GAS CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1800 Metres
 
ANEMACORE (NZ) – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
MANA COMBAT (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
LEERY – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
OLD SONG – Jockey S. Cormack was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, being one more than permitted.
 
MAPLE DOOR – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
SHOWDRA – When questioned regarding the tactics adopted, jockey Damien Thornton stated that there no specific instructions issued, but after beginning well and with limited speed shown to his inside he elected to allow the filly to stride forward.
 
 
Race 4: GOLDSTONE BUILDING GROUP BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP       1800 Metres
 
A BIG CHANCE – Threw its head up on several occasions when being restrained for cover near the 1600m. Jockey M. Butler was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, being one more than permitted.
 
TIME TO TESTIFY – Raced wide until taking up a position outside the leader passing the 1200m.  
 
CHAMPAGNE POP – Slow to begin. When asked to comment on the performance, he was of the view that the mare may have gotten its tongue over the bit, placing it a disadvantage throughout the race, and it was his suggestion to the stable representative to apply a tongue tie next start. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
SHEZA SNIPER – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight obliging its rider to strop and straighten on several occasions.
 
AMBER BLONDE – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 5: BALISTONE POOL MOSAICS CLASS 1 PLATE 1000 Metres
 
HE'S ESSENTIAL – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground. Steadied from heels near the 250m.
 
OUR ROCKETMAN – Began awkwardly.
 
SUNDAY MAIL – Raced keenly between runners near the 700m. When asked to comment on the performance, jockey D. Thornton reported that the gelding over raced badly which would have had a detrimental effect on its finishing effort. He also noted, that in his opinion, SUNDAY MAIL resented the bit and he recommended to the stable representative that they consider a gear change.
 
GERTANIE – Raced keenly leaving the 700m.
 
TANTRUMS – Raced wide throughout.
 
THE STORM – Raced wide throughout.
 
TYCOON MISTRESS – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 6: PROPERTY VINE MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400 Metres
 
NITROGEN – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and was obliged to shift wider near the 300m to secure clear running.
 
CENTRAL PARK – Began awkwardly.  
 
FIRST TO MARS – Began very awkwardly momentarily unbalancing its rider. Lost the off fore plate in running.
 
JOHN'S ROAD – Over raced in the middle stages.
 
UNLIKELY HERO – Bumped on jumping.
 
CASANOVA MAN (NZ) – Near the 300m, was heavily bumped and taken inwards when RICH AGAIN shifted in to improve. Jockey K. Wilson-Taylor, rider of RICH AGAIN, was severely reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident.  
 
OWN TOMORROW – Raced wide throughout.
 
BRING THE CHAMPERS – Slow to begin.
 
CALL ME HILTON – Began awkwardly and bumped UNLIKELY HERO.
 
RICH AGAIN – Shifted in near the 300m, bumping with CASANOVA MAN, then continued to lay in for some distance.
 
 
Race 7:MOES MEDIA CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1400 Metres
 
PICKO ROCKS – Restrained from a wide barrier to obtain a position closer to the rail.
 
HOTSTEP – Fractious in the barriers. Slow to begin, and shortly thereafter steadied from heels.
 
ULTIMATE OUTCOME – Near the 300m, laid in under pressure obliging its rider to stop and correct, and again continued to lay in approaching the 100m.
 
HARMONY REIGNS (NZ) – Over raced during the early stages.
