Race 1: LIEBKE BUILDERS QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1600 M
 
This race was delayed thirty (30) minutes due to storm activity in the area.  
 
PANDA DRUM – Over raced to the lead in the early stages and refused to settle during the middle stages causing its rider significant difficulties. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
ONYABIKE CHARLIE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination as the filly had raced at Gympie on the 25 November 2023 and was subsequently cleared to start.
 
THREDBO – Slow to begin. 
 
Race 2: BOLD DESIGN KITCHENS CLASS 2 HANDICAP         1000 M
 
ALLUDE – Hung out under pressure in the home straight.
 
CHIKARA – Slow to begin. 
 
SHAJAEA – Race wide throughout the event.
 
KERNEL BOOM – Slow to begin. 
 
ARTIE PANTZ – Over raced in the middle stages of the event when racing outside of the lead. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
 
Race 3: VIZBUILD MAIDEN HANDICAP        1200 M
 
NICCONIUM – Fractious prior to the start. Connections were advised a warning will be placed on the gelding for its barrier manners. Began awkwardly and lost ground at the start.
 
PEONY SURPRISE – Blundered on jumping.
 
SAINTS WATER – Raced greenly throughout.
 
FLYING D'AMORE – Shifted in on jumping.
 
BEAN ALL OVA – Over raced in the early stages and raced wide throughout.
 
MARVIA MISS – Began awkwardly and bumped WHISKEY AND BEER. Trainer T. Miller was reprimanded pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time.
 
WHISKEY AND BEER – Checked and lost ground when tightened for room at the start.
 
JUNGLE SHADOWS – When questioned regarding the seamlessly improved performance of the filly, Trainer J. Holcombe indicated he had not been disappointed with its two (2) previous starts. He further stated that the filly appreciated a step up in distance and felt the addition of pacifiers had a positive effect on the horse’s performance. Apprentice E. Lang was fined $400 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip six (6) times prior to the 100m, one (1) more than permitted.
 
MARLEE'S ZANDER – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 4: TREASURE ELECTRICAL BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP         1000 M

The start of this event was delayed when BAIYKA kicked out and got both hind legs caught up in the barriers. The mare underwent a veterinary examination and was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 8:32pm.
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered all bets on BAIYKA to be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
1st – OUTWEIGHED - 9c win, 7c place.
2nd - CARIBBEAN KING - 12c place.
3rd - ZOUMETEOR - 12c place.
 
AMERICAN PRESIDENT – Rider C. Robertson was asked to comment on the horses’ racing manners. He indicated that the gelding refused to settle in the early stages and commenced to hang out from the 700m making the home turn wide and continued to lay out under pressure in the straight before changing stride near the 200m and racing more truly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off hind leg. Trainer A Simpson was advised that a vet certificate would be required prior to the gelding racing again.
 
RIGEL STAR – Trainer J. Bruce advised a change in tactics, to be ridden with cover. Ridden accordingly.
 
ZOUMETEOR – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
GOBLIN' DE QUO – Rider D. Smith reported his mount travelled well throughout the event and quickened when asked for a response when entering the home straight however was disappointing over the final 200m.
 
OUTWEIGHED – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be exhibiting clinical signs of the thumps and respiratory distress.
 
Race 5:BOLD DESIGN KITCHENS RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP 1400 M
 
BRAZEN BRECCIA – Rider A. Donald reported her mount made an abnormal respiratory noise post-race.
 
BRONZE DRAGON – Began awkwardly.  
 
SINGER SARGENT – Bumped and forced wider near the 400m when EUROMANTIC shifted out to obtain clear running.
 
TOBA – Bumped on jumping away and lost ground.
 
WITNESS ATTACK – Rider A. Allen reported the gelding hung in from the 600m particularly when under pressure in the home straight.
 
CANNON HILL – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Held up for a short distance rounding the home turn.
 
EUROMANTIC – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 400m was directed out to secure clear running and in doing so made contact with SINGER SARGENT forcing that horse wider and causing that horse to make contact with BIRKIN BLACK. Jockey D. Thornton was reprimanded under AR131(a) as his actions were deemed to be careless in the circumstances.
 
ABOVE THE SKY – Raced wide throughout.
 
PARISIAN LADY – Began awkwardly and bumped with TOBA on jumping. Tightened for room near the 500m whilst weakening when racing between BIRKIN BLACK and SINGER SARGENT which shifted out. Maloney rider of SINGER SARGENT was reprimanded under AR131(a) as his actions were deemed to be careless in the circumstance.
 
BIRKIN BLACK – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 6: LSE CONSTRUCTIONS BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP         1400 M
 
THUNDER MANIA – Raced wide throughout.
 
MONEY MAN – Raced three wide without cover. Over raced in the early and middle stages.
 
CYGNET RIVER – Slow to begin. Became unbalanced when inconvenienced approaching the 1200m.
 
CHIEF ARTIE – Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight causing its rider to stop riding and straighten on a number of occasions.
 
GOLLY HUTT – Shifted out and bumped PRETTY LITTLE LASS.
 
DEEP CLEAN – Stood flat footed and lost ground. Over raced in the early stages.
 
SATASHI – Began awkwardly and raced wide throughout.
 
PRETTY LITTLE LASS – Bumped on jumping.
 
NOBLE STYLE – Laid out under pressure and bumped with MONEY MAN on a number of occasions. S. Cormack was advised to stop riding and straighten in similar circumstances.
 
Following the running of this event, Jockey J. Bayliss was examined by the club doctor after presenting at scale in a distressed state before being cleared to fulfill his remaining engagement.
 
 
Race 7:LIEBKE BUILDERS CLASS 4 HANDICAP         1600 M
 
ALWAYS WRITTEN OFF – Restrained from heels near 1500m.
 
TAIRUA (NZ) – Shifted in near the 1500m and placed SIZZLING GAL in restricted room before being straightened, when straightened became unbalanced and lost ground causing ALWAYS WRITTEN OFF which was following to be restrained from heels.
 
MUWARRAD – Stood flat footed and lost significant ground. Trainer P. Duff was advised a warning will be placed on the gelding for its barrier manners.
