Prior to the declaration of correct weight, M. Hoysted, Trainer of second place getter RICH MINX, ridden by Apprentice E. Lang lodged a protest against first place getter, ESJAY, ridden by Apprentice J. Williams alleging interference in the home straight. After considering evidence from all parties including P. Webster trainer of ESJAY and after viewing the race footage. Stewards determined that ESJAY laid out considerably over the final 150m, bumping with RICH MINX on several occasions and carrying that runner wider which impeded the opportunity for Apprentice E. Lang to fully pressure her mount to the line and when considering the half head margin, Stewards upheld the protest and declared correct weight on the new numbers of 13, 1, 10, 2.
