Race 1: TAB MAIDEN HANDICAP   1200M
 
BAMBOOZLED – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
ASHILLA – Raced keenly in the middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be displaying symptoms of mild heat stress.
 
TERRONA – After being slow to begin was hampered shortly after when BOITUMELO jumped in.
 
BEAN SHAMELESS – Held up rounding the home turn when awkwardly placed between runners.
 
MISS BACALL – Over-raced for a short distance passing the 800m.
 
LET'SSHOWEM – From the wide barrier was restrained shortly after the start to rearward position closer to the rails.
 
BOITUMELO – As R Payne was to be overweight, Stewards permitted CJ Graham to ride the horse. R Payne was reprimanded under AR190(3) for accepting a ride when overweight.In determining penalty Stewards acknowledged her recent good record under this rule. Jumped in at the start. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
LOVEZELADYS – Began awkwardly.
 
 
Race 2: MAEVA HOSPITALITY OPEN HANDICAP    1600M
 
SNEAK PREVIEW – Approaching the 300m, when laying in, steadied from the heels of FIRE KING which was taken out slightly by RITANI.
 
STAR OF MICHELIN – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running from approaching the 450m until leaving the 250m.
 
RITANI – Jumped out at the start.
 
 
Race 3: MARTIN COLLINS AUSTRALIA BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP  1600M
 
WEST CORK – Rider N Evans reported WEST CORK, in his opinion, resented the cross over noseband which resulted in the horse racing keenly when leading the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer M Faulkner indicated it would now be his intention to remove the cross over noseband from the horse’s approved racing gear.
 
DISPUTED RIVER – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
JUBAI PRIDE – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
 
Race 4: COASTLINE BMW MAIDEN HANDICAP    1600M
 
The start of this event was delayed due to STAR OF PERU undergoing a veterinary fractious after becoming fractious in the barriers.
 
STAR OF PERU – When being loaded into the barriers, bumped its head on the nearside partition, was removed, underwent a veterinary examination, and was cleared to start.
 
VADAMOON – Hung out and raced wide throughout the event and was uncompetitive from the 700m.A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer S Kendrick was advised VADAMOON must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
 
FIREBOLT – Held up rounding the home turn and was then disappointed for a run leaving the 400m between SUSPICIOUS TIME and MARVIA MISS.
 
MARVIA MISS – Trainer T Miller was reprimanded under LR67(1) for the late declaration of rider on the horse. Inconvenienced shortly after the start.
 
WHOLELOTTATAPIN – Change of tactics, to be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. Inconvenienced shortly after the start. Rider T Banks was fined $300 under AR211(1) for returning to scale in excess of half kilogram overweight.
 
CAILIN ALAINN – Change of tactics, to be ridden back in the field from the wide barrier if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly.
 
FORGETS ME NOT – Inconvenienced shortly after the start.
 
EVERCLEAR – Inconvenienced shortly after the start.
 
CALL ME HILTON – Began awkwardly. Near the 1500m steadied to avoid the heels of FRIJOLES which shifted in when not fully clear. N Tomizowa, rider of FRIJOLES, was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
 
FRIJOLES – N Tomizowa, rider of FRIJOLES, was fined $300 under AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on 8 occasions prior to the 100m, three more than permitted.
 
 
 
Race 5: LIEBKE BUILDERS RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP          1200M
 
The start of this event was delayed due to delay in the previous event.
 
BULSARA – Over-raced near the 800m when being restrained to obtain cover. Near the 100m crowded for room and had to be steadied between SEIRYU which shifted in to improve and GERRYMANDER which laid out when weakening. R Dolan, rider of SEIRYU, was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
ALL THE SHOPS – Jumped out at the start. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
ANNAKURI – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
SPIRIT OF GIVING – Raced wide for the majority of the event. When questioned regarding tactics in the early stages of the home straight rider D Smith advised SPIRIT OF GIVING races best when held up for one short run and for that reason, he elected to remain behind PRONTO VINCENTO until the 250m before shifting out to improve. After viewing previous performances of SPIRIT OF GIVING, Stewards noted the explanation of D Smith.
 
PRONTO VINCENTO – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
LATE NIGHT DEVIL – From the wide barrier was restrained shortly after the start to rearward position closer to the rails.
 
ONE IN ALL – Jumped in at the start.
 
SEIRYU – Checked at the start between ALL THE SHOPS and ONE IN ALL, both of which shifted ground on jumping.
 
ALPHA JANE – Disappointed for a run leaving the 400m before obliged to alter course to the outside a short distance later to secure clear running.
 
 
Race 6: CALOUNDRA RSL CLASS 2 HANDICAP  1400M
 
CHARLIE'S CASE – Bumped at the start. Inclined to hang out from the 700m, and more so when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
SHIPS AHOY – Rider C Waddell reported in her opinion the horse did not handle the prevailing track conditions.
 
KERKORIAN – Jumped in at the start and bumped CHALIE’S CASE. Laid out under pressure in the early stages of the home straight before being corrected by its rider. Lost off fore plate in running.
 
QUEST OF QUESTS – Trainer O Cairns was reprimanded under LR67(1) for the late declaration of rider on the horse.
 
UNIQUE ELLE – Crowded at the start and lost ground.
 
 
 
Race 7: HIGGINS COATINGS CLASS 3 PLATE      1000M
 
ORACOLO – Slow to begin.
 
INVINOVICH – Slow to begin.
 
SONG SUNG BLUE – Raced wide throughout.
 
SHAJEA – Rider R Dolan reported the horse became unbalanced when changing stride rounding the home turn.
