SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
3/2/24 Eagle Farm Race 9 - Trainer M Morrison reported that upon returning to his Gold Coast stables, THE RITZ had bled from one nostril. Mr Morrison was advised that the gelding would be required to gallop over 1000m in the presence of a stewards prior to resuming.
 
 
 
Race 1: YOUNG VETERANS SUNSHINE COAST QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP 1000 M
 
The start of this race was delayed ensuring the QAS vehicle was positioned correctly.
 
THE LUCKY ALIEN – Bumped near the 200m.
 
SONG SUNG BLUE – Began awkwardly then bumped by ALLOUTATIME which shifted in. Laid out near the 200m when placed under pressure.
 
ALLOUTATIME – Shifted in on jumping.
 
ZOU ZOU ZOEIA – Trailed the field and was uncompetitive in today’s event. Post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer K Kemp was advised that a warning would be placed on the filly.
 
 
Race 2: FLYING START SYNDICATIONS QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1000 M
 
Prior to the running of this race the track was upgraded to a Good 4.
 
HARLEY CHARLIE – Slow to muster speed.
 
ALLEZ PARIS – Raced wide.
 
LOVE IS A ROSE – Knuckled on jumping then shifted out.
 
MISHANI AMORE – Slow to begin.
 
OVERFULL – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
READY FOR BUCKS – Slow to begin. Near the 700m improved onto heels, shifted out, then raced wide for the remainder.
 
SKYPORT LANE – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped with LOVE IS A ROSE.
 
Race 3: INTEGRAL CONSTRUCTION BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1200 M
 
 
WHAT A SHAM (NZ) – Raced keenly early and middle stages.
 
KASEAR – Slow to begin.
 
SARODEC – Slow to begin. Over raced early, shifted out then raced wide throughout.
 
Race 4: KEVLACAT POWER BOATS AUSTRALIA CLASS 3 PLATE 1800 M
 
 
MASTER MARKO (NZ) – Slow to begin. Bumped, became unbalanced and taken wider rounding the home turn when BELLA TIVACI shifted out.
 
WESTERN FRONT (IRE) – Over raced badly before weakening from the 500m. Shifted out rounding the home turn before weakening badly in the home straight. Cast the near fore plate. Post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainers’ representative for Neasham Racing, Miss I King was advised that the gelding would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to resuming.
 
BELLA TIVACI (NZ) – Shifted out rounding the home turn after improving onto the heels of the tiring WESTERN FRONT then bumped with MASTER MARKO.
 
TONI TOO (NZ) – Obliged to steady rounding the home turn after improving onto the heels of MASTER MARKO which was taken out by BELLA TIVACI.
 
 
 
Race 5: PERRY'S SUNSHINE COAST EVENT HIRE MAIDEN HANDICAP 1600 M
 
SMOKE 'N' OAKUM – Shifted out near the 700m to improve.
 
AMERICAN PHIREBALL –Raced wide. Taken wider near the 700m when SMOKE 'N' OAKUM shifted out to improve.
 
BLUEPRINT – Restrained from the wide barrier to a position nearer the rail.
 
SHAMUKA -Began awkwardly and lost ground. Over raced and steadied from heels on a number of occasions between the 800m and 600m. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
DAWN PARTY – Caught wide early before being ridden aggressively to secure a forward position and when unable to obtain a position near the rail, raced wide for the remainder.
 
VADAMOON (NZ) – Hampered shortly after the start.
 
BEAN ALL OVA – Jockey J Byrne reported that his saddle shifted back shortly after the start, placing him at a disadvantage in the event.
 
EASILY AMUSED – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
FIDDLER ONTHE ROOF – Held up approaching the home turn. Steadied from the heels of EASILY AMUSED entering the straight and continued to be held up until approaching the 300m.
 
 
 
Race 6: SUNSHINE COAST FLOORING XTRA BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 2200 M
 
GOOGAZ – Required farrier attention in the race day stalls prior to the event. Rounding the home turn became unbalanced when attempting a tight run to the inside of the tiring MOTTRAM.
 
CONTRITION (NZ) – Bumped and became unbalanced leaving the 300m when BLAGNY shifted in and GOOGAZ shifted out under riding. Apprentice S Champkin was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that when under hard riding she did not make sufficient effort to prevent her mount from shifting out. Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
AUTUMN SHOW – Declared a late scratching at 3.16pm on veterinary advice.
 
STRONGBOW (NZ) – Cast the off fore plate.
 
BLAGNY – Over raced early when restraining for cover. Leaving the 300m bumped with CONTRITION after shifting in and away from KINGSTAR BULLET which laid in slightly before being corrected by its rider.
 
PROSPETTIVA (NZ) – Declared a late scratching at 4.02pm on veterinary advice.
 
 
MOTTRAM – Over raced early before being allowed to stride forward leaving the 1600m and reach the lead near the 1350m.
 
Race 7: TAB BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP 1600 M
 
SKIDDAW – Trainer advised it was their intention to attempt to settle in a more forward position. Ridden accordingly.
 
DIACO – Commenced to over race leaving the 1300m and obliged to check from heels near the 1200m. Laid in near the 200m obliging its rider to stop and straighten and again near the 100m.
 
TRIPLE MONEY (NZ) – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after making contact to its off hind exiting the enclosure and was cleared to start. Laid out rounding the home turn. Laid in when placed under pressure over the final 200m.
 
KUBWA – Began awkwardly making heavy contact with FLEETING CHANCE. Post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer B Healey reported that considering todays performance the gelding would now be spelled.
 
SPIRIT OF BEANS – Jockey M Rodd reported that his saddle shifted to the near side which placed him at a disadvantage in the early stages causing the gelding to settle further back than anticipated. Raced wide. Near the 300m shifted out and away from THUNDER MANIA making heavy contact to the hind quarters of ZATTASTAR and became unbalanced.
 
FLEETING CHANCE - Began awkwardly making heavy contact with KUBWA. Post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be exhibiting clinical signs of heat stress.
 
ZATTASTAR – Near the 300m bumped heavily with SPIRIT OF BEANS and became unbalanced.
