Prior to the declaration of correct weight a protest was lodged by S Cormack, rider of second placegetter PARIS AFFAIR against first placegetter HEREDITARY (R Dolan) alleging  interference in the home straight. After hearing evidence from both riders and viewing the stewards footage, it was found that PARIS AFFAIR was tightened for room after passing the 400m when HEREDITARY shifted in and whilst noting shortly afterwards a shift from the inside runner KAIROS LOUIE, which was taken out by SON OF SATONO, Stewards were satisfied that this interference and further tightening when HEREDITARY shifted in again near the 250m, was sufficient to reverse the placing and the protest was upheld declaring correct weight on the below amended result

1st PARIS AFFAIR
2nd HEREDITARY
3RD SON OF SATONO
4TH GINASUE

KAIROS LOUIE (NZ) – Checked when tightened for room near the 300m. N Beriman’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 12/10/24 until midnight 20/10/24.
