GENERAL
 
As Jockey N. Callow and Apprentice C. Collis were not riding, Stewards permitted rider changes as per the race day summary.
 
Race 6: Stewards accepted the explanation and circumstances regarding trainer D. Ward failing to scratch dual acceptor APTERIA, which was accepted in Race 2 and Race 6, by the prescribed time of LR 36(6).
 
Race 1: WESBEAM CLASS 1 PLATE   2200 M
 
CASANOVA MAN (NZ) – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be heat stressed.
 
SON OF SATONO (NZ) – Rider N. Beriman reported that she was disappointed in the performance of the gelding however was of the opinion that SON OF SATONO (NZ) appreciates softer track conditions.
 
 
Race 2: AKD MAIDEN PLATE      1000 M
 
COSTA CATORI – Began awkwardly. Raced greenly throughout.
 
KING OF THE VIBE – Raced three wide throughout.
 
HALF MOON ROO – Raced three wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Rider N. Thomas reported the mare did not travel comfortably during the event. A post-race veterinary revealed
 
VICTOIRE D'AMOUR – Raced greenly in the home straight.
 
 
Race 3: NASAHI AUSTRALIA BM78 HANDICAP         1000 M
 
HELLUVA BARTY – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room approaching the 850m. Over-raced in the early stages. Held up from approaching the 400m till leaving the 300m.
 
GODFATHER – Raced three wide for the majority.
 
LOST HIS BEANS – Slow to begin. Disappointed for a run approaching the 200m and was obliged to shift in to secure clear running.
 
PHANTOM SPIRIT – Checked and shifted out approaching the 850m to avoid the heels HEARTONI. Raced three wide for the majority. Apprentice S. Willis, the rider of HEARTONI, subsequently pled guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR 131(a) in that approaching the 850m she permitted HEARTONI to shift in when not sufficiently clear of PHANTOM SPIRIT, causing that horse to be tightened for room, shift in and bump STAR OF KINGS and then be checked by its rider. The licence to ride in races of Apprentice S. Willis was suspended for a period of 11 days to commence midnight 5/11/2024 up to midnight 16/11/2024 with her free to resume riding on 17 /11/2024. Apprentice S. Willis was advised of her appeal rights.
 
STAR OF KINGS – Shifted out at the start. Bumped approaching the 850m.
 
 
Race 4: HUME DOORS MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400 M
 
ZINOTAR (NZ) – Raced three wide throughout.
 
BEFORE THE THUNDER – Over-raced for a short distance approaching the 800m.
 
EMBEZZLED HEART (NZ) – Bumped heavily at the start.
 
ARTZ ON FIRE – Began awkwardly. Commenced to over-raced badly approaching 1200m and continued to race ungenerously until approaching the 800m before being checked from heels and losing ground. Co-trainer A. Simpson was advised the gelding would be required to officially trial or jump out to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to being permitted to race again.
 
MAN HANDS (NZ) – Inconvenienced when racing behind ARTZ ON FIRE between the 1000m to the leaving the 800m.
 
CHEERFUL CAT – Shifted in at the start and bumped EMBEZZLED HEART (NZ). Raced wide throughout.
 
RUMBLING AWAY – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced in restricted room approaching the 900m. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
ZOUBLIME – Bumped heavily at the start.
 
 
Race 5: DINDAS BM62 HANDICAP       1400 M
 
HALF CROWN – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
MONEY MAN – Checked and lost ground approaching the 1100m. After Stewards inquired into the reasons for MONEY MAN being checked approaching the 1100m, it was established that despite the efforts of apprentice J. Franklin, MONEY MAN improved quickly to the inside of DIVAKARA which also shifted in and away from QUEST OF QUESTS resulting in MONEY MAN being severely checked and contacting the running rail.
 
CHARLIE'S CASE – Race three wide throughout.
 
MILLWARD – Rider C. Graham reported it was not intention to lead however after beginning well and also as a result of her saddle shifting, she allowed her mount to stride forward rather than restrain.
 
QUEST OF QUESTS – Over-raced in the early stages when being restrained in an effort to find cover. Over-raced and had to be steadied from heels approaching the 900m. Held up rounding the home turn till and some difficultly securing clear running until approaching the 100m.
 
BLUE CHIP GIRL – Race three wide throughout.
 
WORTH AVENUE – Slow to begin.
 
BETTER LAD – Race three wide throughout.
 
 
Race 6: ITI - INNOVATIVE TIMBER IDEAS QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN PLATE  1000 M
 
BOLD ARTIC – It was reported by Jockey Beriman that her saddle slipped back in the home straight.
 
COOL RUNNING – Bumped at the start.
 
NOBLE DECREE (NZ) – Shifted in at that the start and bumped BEE TWO.
 
OOHLALOUVRE – Began awkwardly. Improved onto heels at 300m and had difficulty securing clear running until the approaching the 200m.
 
BEE TWO – Bumped at the start.
 
LADY ZAYDI – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
CHILPUR – Raced wide and greenly throughout.
