QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT SUNSHINE COAST TURF CLUB SUNDAY 15TH DECEMBER 2024 WEATHER – Overcast TRACK RATING – Heavy 10 RAIL – 9m entirePENETROMETER – 7.2 OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – P ZimmermannStewards – G Goold, K Daly, S Fletcher, H Matthews Race 1: K SMITH & SON JEWELLERS MAIDEN PLATE 2200 M No racing incidents. Race 2: LANDSBOROUGH PUB MAIDEN PLATE 1600 M BIT OF GRUNT – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Rider R Thorburn dropped his whip near the 200m. Bumped and taken wider passing the 100m when ZINOTAR shifted out under pressure. PRIDE OF PASSION – Jumped out at the start and bumped YONAKA. Raced wide for the majority of the event. YONAKA – Bumped at the start. Over-raced in the early stages, shifted and raced wide until commencing to tire from the 500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. ZINOTAR – Shifted out under pressure passing the 100m.JOHNTIALJO – Laid out shortly after the start and bumped ZONTO WILBERFORCE. Raced keenly in the early stages. Inclined to lay in under pressure over final 200m. ZONTO WILBERFORCE – Bumped shortly after the start. Following the running of this event Stewards and a delegation of senior riders conducted a track inspection which revealed concerns with section of the track surface near the 600m and also passing the winning post where horses pull up, and in the interests of both horse and rider safety the meeting was called off at 2:01pm.
