Race 1: Sojitz Minerva Mine BenchMark 60 Handicap 1000m
 
Stewards accepted the reasons tendered for the late declarations of riders for OSSENHAGEN and IT’S WANTED.
 
OSSENHAGEN – Threw its head in the air as the start was effected and lost significant ground. Raced ungenerously for a short period in the early stages and resented the kick back throughout.
 
TEN GOAL POLO – Raced three wide without cover.
 
TYRANNIZE – Raced four wide without cover. Commenced to lay in passing the 200 metres and approaching the 50 metres laid in tightening CLAPPERS. App. Seymour was advised to show greater care in the circumstances.
 
CLAPPERS – Tightened for room near the 50 metres when TYRANNIZE laid in.
 
IT’S WANTED – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 2: Central Highlands Toyota Class B Handicap 1000m
 
EARL OF FORDYCE – App. S Gittos was permitted to claim only 3.5 kilograms of his 4 kilogram allowance. Began awkwardly and raced ungenerously in the early stages.
 
NORTHERN SECRET – Made contact with the gate on leaving the enclosure and was subsequently examined by the veterinary surgeon behind the barriers and passed clear to start. Raced three wide without cover.
 
MAGITORIAL – Raced four wide without cover.
 
BURJ AL – Began awkwardly and floundered in the going during the early stages. Shifted out and raced wide for the remainder to avoid the dust kickback and over the final 500 metres made significant ground and finished strongly.
 
Race 3: Dooleys Tavern and Motel QTIS Maiden Plate (3YO & Up) 1100m
 
Correct weight was delayed as Jockey N Seymour, rider of second placegetter LA JULIETTE, upon pulling up dismounted and was experiencing severe cramping. As he was attended to by ambulance personnel and unable to weigh in, stewards acting under the provisions of AR142  were satisfied that LA JULIETTE had carried its allotted weight and subsequently declared correct weight. Jockey N Seymour was subsequently stood down from his remaining engagements by ambulance personnel and was therefore advised that he is required to provide a medical clearance prior to race riding again.
 
DRUMEOUS – Began awkwardly and threw its head in the air for a short distance after the start.
 
YAKAPARI – Began awkwardly.
 
SIR EARLSTON – Race three wide without cover.
 
LA JULIETTE – Raced extremely wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 4: Glencore Rolleston Coal BenchMark 55 Handicap 1400m
 
The start of this race was delayed when SILENT FLYER proved difficult to load. Trainer N King will be advised that a warning will be placed on the gelding’s record regarding its barrier manners.
 
SILENT FLYER –Raced wide around the home turn and laid in under pressure over the final 200 metres.
 
HIERCHAL – As N Seymour was stood down by ambulance personnel he was replaced by Ms B Richardson. Failed to muster speed in the early stages.
 
AUTHADANE – Raced three wide without cover.
 
SIRIUS WITNESS – Prior to the event Trainer J Manzelmann advised that the mare had cast a near hind plate. As the plate was unable to be refitted, Stewards permitted Trainer J Manzelmann to remove the other hind plate and rac bare behind. Raced four wide without cover.
 
ONEMORETWOLESS – Raced wide after passing the 1000 metres for the remainder. Laid in under pressure over the final 200 metres.
 
Following this race App. N Seymour was examined by ambulance personnel and stood down from her remaining engagement. App. N Seymour was advised that she is required to provide a medical clearance prior to race riding again.
 
Race 5: Colin Meek Memorial Apringusre Cup Open Handicap 1400m
 
ATEACES – As App. N Seymour was ill, Stewards permitted App. E Bell to ride the gelding claiming 1.5 kilograms of her 2 kilogram allowance.
 
HOT TEMPO – Reared slightly as the start was effected.
 
HUNTER ISLAND – Jockey P Romeo was fined $100 for using his whip on more than five occasions prior to the 100 metre mark.
