 GENERAL
 
Due to the abandonment of Wandoan, late riders were made available and as a result, late declarations were accepted by stewards and were made as following.
 
R1 – OUR VERA – Hannah Philips
R2 – CURRUMBIN – Hannah Philips
R3 – SIRATRO – Hannah Philips
R5 – THE CONSIGLIERE – Hannah Phillips
 
Trainer Wayne Baker was fined a sum of $200 in that he had an unlicensed person assisting him in the race day stalls with race day procedures.
 
 
Race 1: BEVERLEY O’KEEFFE MEMORIAL Class B Handicap 900 Metres
 
Race 1 was delayed approximately 30 minutes due to the late arrival of the Ambulance Officials on course.
 
Following the running of Race 1, Jockey Chris McIver, the rider of BITTERGREYMAGIC, had asked permission of stewards to view the judge’s photo of the finish prior to declaring correct weight. After viewing the photo, Jockey McIver was satisfied, and correct weight was declared on the judge’s placings on 4 (THE LAST DRAGON) -9 (MOSSMAID) -10 (MAX’S SOURCE) -1 (BITTERGREYMAGIC).   
 
BARTOS – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
OUR VERA – Upon heading around to the barriers, proceeded to the start point at a strong gallop for a distance, as it proved difficult to steady. The mare underwent a pre-race veterinary examination at the barriers and was passed fit to start.
 
MOSSMAID – Delayed the start as its tongue tie had to be re-applied prior to loading. Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
MAX’S SOURCE – Apprentice Jockey Angela Jones was reprimanded under AR143(14)(a), in that she was unable to claim her full allowance. Permission was granted to Apprentice Jockey Jones to ride the mount 0.5kg overweight as there was no other available riders. Jumped away awkwardly.  
 
LADY ELLEY – Due to no other available riders, Jockey Martin Haley was granted permission from stewards to rider his mount 0.5kg over the allocated riding weight. Was fractious in the barriers. Slow to begin. When returning to scale, Jockey Haley stated that mare failed to respond to his riding urges throughout the race.
 
 
Race 2: DOOLEY’S TAVERN & MOTELS QTIS Maiden Plate 900Metres
 
 
THINK I CAN CAREEN – Jumped away awkwardly, contacting CURRUMBIN.
 
CURRUMBIN – Was fractious in the barriers prior to jumping. Hampered on jumping by THINK I CAN CAREEN.

NIKSICKO – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
WEBCKE – Jumped away awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin.
 
A TOP CHANCE – Apprentice Jockey Anna Bakos reported that her saddle had shifted in the early stages of the race, placing the rider and A TOP CHANCE at a disadvantage.
 
EVRYNOW’N’THEN – Slow to begin. Wide in the early stages. Laid in entering the home straight.
 
SAINT NO MORE – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Apprentice Jockey Dan McGillivray was reminded of his obligations to ride his mount out to the finish post.
 
 
Race 3: PAUL TAYLOR MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1400Metres
 
POINT THE WAGON – Raced wide throughout. Apprentice Jockey Angela Jones was charged under AR132(5) in that she used her whip on 17 occasions in totality during the race. Apprentice Jockey Angela Jones had her license suspended for a period of 7 days that are to commence on midnight the 27th of March 2021 to midnight the 3rd of April 2021.
 
MALVAGIO – Jockey M. Haley was charged under AR132(5) in that he used his whip on 18 occasions throughout the race. Martin Haley had his license suspended for a period of 8 days, to commence midnight the 20th of March 2021 to midnight the 28th of March 2021.  
 
SIRATRO – Shortly after jumping, was hampered by NO MORE BIDS which had shifted in on jumping.
 
NO MORE BIDS – Jumped away awkwardly, shifting in contacting SIRATRO.  
 
 
Race 4: SOJITZ MDS MINING BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1100 Metres
 
CALCULATED RISK – Was fractious in the barriers. Hung out rounding the home turn. Apprentice Jockey Dan McGillivray reported that CALCULATED RISK failed to handle the track conditions as the gelding resented the kick back of the dirt track.  
 
YALANJI – Raced wide throughout.
 
PETITE ELLE – Was fractious in the barriers prior to jumping.
 
RURAL REBEL – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
 
Race 5: KEVIN WOOLCOCK MEMORIAL BRACELET OPEN Handicap 1100Metres
 
BEST GUESS – Rounding the home turn, hung out despite the efforts from the rider.
 
THE CONSIGLIERE – Approaching the 450m, THE CONSIGLIERE had to be steadied by Jockey Hannah Philips rounding the home turn as BEST GUESS, ridden by Apprentice Jockey Angela Jones, had hung out despite the efforts of the rider while trying to straighten. As a result, H Philips had to check the gelding to avoid the heels of HEZHOME before racing in restricted room.  
 
TEN GOAL POLO – Raced wide throughout.
 
ADDICTED – Slow to begin. Apprentice Jockey Montana Philpot reported that after ADDICTED began slowly, the gelding didn’t respond to her riding and as a result failed to muster any speed, tailing off from the rest of the field.
