As stewards could neither prove or disprove as at to whether STRATIGIC POSITION got its tongue over the bit and if it had any effect on the geldings finishing chances, stewards advised Ms Rodgers that regardless of any instructions or plans heading into the race that in some circumstances there may be times that she needs to change her tactics during the running of a race in order to give her mount the best possible chance in the finish.
