QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT STAMFORD RACE CLUB STAMFORD – SATURDAY 1 JULY 2023 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – DIRT RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – D.GriffithsStewards – S.Nosworthy (Cadet)Clerk of Scales – StewardsJudge – B.Climie, G.LittleVeterinarian & Swab Attendant – Dr. P.Lynch Starter – J.Godfrey GENERAL: Race 2 – FRANKLIN RIVER - Following a request from trainer L.Bowker, stewards permitted the gelding to race with a crossover nose band. Race 1: TROPIC DISTRIBUTORS / ABBOTT MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1000 M JABALI GOLD – Jumped away awkwardly and threw its head in the air shortly after the start. TIME FOR PEACE - Jockey D.Ballard was permitted to ride his mount +0.5kg overweight. Race 2: CAMPBELL’S GRAZING CO/GR TERRY MEMORIAL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000M FRANKLIN RIVER – Was fractious behind the barriers and difficult to load. A warning was issued to connections regarding the gelding’s behaviour. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. SINGLE MALT – Threw its head in the air shortly after the start and lost considerable ground. Apprentice Tyler Leslight was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR 228(b) in relation to using obscene language when entering the enclosure at the completion of the event. GIVE IT THE BEANS – Slow into stride. Raced extremely wide for the majority of the event. Race 3: NORTHERN RURAL GROUP LADIES BRACELET CLASS B HANDICAP 800M VALIANT KNIGHT – Bumped with COLONEL VON TRAPP on jumping. BITTERBLUE – Raced wide for the majority. OUTBACK STEP – Slow into stride. COLONEL VON TRAPP – Was fractious at the barriers and difficult to load. A final warning was issued to trainer K.Krogh. Bumped with VALIANT KNIGHT on jumping then raced wide for the majority. Race 4: HONEYCOMBES SALES & SERVICE BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1200M CAMPEEDO - Raced wide in the early stages. JAKAZONE - Raced wide for the early and middle stages. MISTAKEN IDENTITY - Resented kickback in the early stages. Jockey K. Ballard reported prior to the start being affected, the mare tended to get its hind leg up on the side barrier partition. Jumped on terms with the field. SNIPPY STRATEGIC - Raced wide for the majority. REDZEB – Tired over the concluding stages and was inspected by the club Veterinary Surgeon which revealed no significant findings. Race 5: HUGHENDEN SPAR / RAT ENGINEERING STAMFORD CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1200M METEORANO – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. ANCIENT ECHOES – Jumped awkwardly and collided with LOUIE THE LEGEND. ZOOMERATTA – Reared on jumping and lost ground. Ran wide rounding the home turn. LOUIE THE LEGEND – Jockey K Ballard was permitted to ride his mount +0.5kg overweight. Bumped on jumping by ANCIENT ECHOES.
