QUEENSLAND RACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORTSTANTHORPE – 16TH OCTOBER 2021WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – GOOD(4) RAIL – TRUEOFFICIALSChairman of Stewards – T Hudson Clerk of Scales – D RossiterJudge – S KayVeterinarian – Dr K WidderickStarter – D HodgesRace 1: COUNTRY CLUB HOTEL/ MJ CLEANERS MAIDEN PLATE – 1000MThe start of this race was delayed approximately 8 minutes after GOLDEN EMBERS broke through the gates and galloped riderless for an extended period of time after proving difficult to capture. After being caught it was subsequently declared a late scratching at 1.22pm with the following deductions to apply;3c in the dollar for all win bets on #8 (CYCLONE DIVA)4c in the dollar for all place bets #8 (CYCLONE DIVA)4c in the dollar for all place bets #5 (MISTER QUICKSTEP)4c in the dollar for all place bets #11 (SHEZANUISANCE)When considering taking action against GOLDEN EMBERS, Stewards were made aware of the circumstances that enabled the mare to break through the barriers and as such, elected not to take any action against GOLDEN EMBERS.Stewards were also mindful that all runners had been in the barriers for an extended period of time and therefore could not be comfortably satisfied that any disadvantage from this delay was worthy of any action against any individual runner.AVOCA – Steadied from the heels of MISTER QUICKSTEP on several occasions near the 700m. Rider J Oliver was reminded of his obligations when reducing the pace. Taken wider in the home straight when SHEZANUISANCE laid out despite the efforts of its rider.EMPIRE DAY – Reared as the start was affected and lost significant ground. Apprentice M Savva stated that she wasn’t ready when the start was affected and had relayed those messages to the starter which unfortunately was not heard. As such, Stewards elected not to proceed with any action against EMPIRE DAY and spoke to the starter regarding the communication aspect between riders and barrier staff.GOLDEN WHITT – Steadied from the heels near the 700m.CHILLI PILLS – Slow to begin.ITSAVARIATION – Shifted in on jumping bumping MA DUSHKA. After viewing the available films Stewards believed although the barrier that SUZY NEEDS LOVIN’ was placed in had shown to have opened unintentionally prior to the jump which caused the delay, at the time that SUZY NEEDS LOVIN’ was ready to jump, the barriers were in working order and Stewards could not be satisfied that SUZY NEEDS LOVIN’ was denied a fair start and correct weight was declared.SUZY NEEDS LOVIN’ – Slow to begin and lost considerable ground.WHISTLIN’ ARROW – Raced wide throughout.Race 4: STANTHORPE MITRE 10 STANTHORPE CUP OPEN HCP – 1200MNil report.Race 5: QUEENSLAND COUNTRY BANK BENCHMARK 60 HCP – 1400MSALAZAR – Held up for clear running from approaching the home turn until the final 50m.HIGH I CUE – Pulled hard in the early stages.
