RACE 1: CRAIGLEA/RAHEEN/MINLACOWIE DROUGHTMASTER/MARRS DOWNS SERIES CLASS 5 H’CAP – 1200M
PICWORTH, CREST OF THE WAVE and HAPPILY EVERAFTER were all slow to begin.

YUKON PRIDE jumped with its head in the air and lost considerable ground.

Leaving the 1000m, STRATEGIN, whilst begin eased, was forced to check when tightened for room between MIGHTY GRITTY, which shifted in and VALHULLA, which shifted out.

Near the 800m, LEICANAVALANCHE was forced to ease when over-racing on the heels of YUKON PRIDE.

Over the concluding stages, LEICANAVALANCHE was forced to check when disappointed for a run between OPAL TRADER, which shifted out and STRATEGIN, which was taken in when PICWORTH shifted in under pressure.

RACE 2: NEWSTEAD PASTORAL CO/MCINNES WILSON/STATHAM & CHEESMAN/ROYAL HOTEL/ROBOBANK OPEN H’CAP – 1400M
ODONATA and SPINOUT were both slow to begin.

OVERALL PRINCE jumped away awkwardly.

C Bryen, the rider of SALIENT KING, was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift near the 300m tightening the running of OVERALL PRINCE, which was forced to ease.

SPINOUT raced wide throughout.



RACE 3: MOSAIC OIL A A COMPANY SURAT CUP CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1400m

ADD IT UP, INTER THE FRAY and PRINCE PERCY were all slow to begin.

Shortly after the start D Hutchins, the rider of DANESPRING, was stuck in the face by an unknown object, which split his goggles. As a result DANSPRING lost considerable ground during the early stages after being restrained.

PANKKI shifted out under pressure in the straight making contact with BRIDGE TO VICTORY.

Connections of JUNGLE MONARCH, which bled from both nostrils, were advised that the gelding would be barred from racing for 3 months.

RACE 4: JW SCHUBERT & COL WALKER/SUNCORP METWAY/GRANT DANIEL & LONG/JACK DANIELS CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1000M

BAKE’S MISTAKE and MR BOBCAT were both slow to begin.

Near the 900m, PEDROLANI shifted out abruptly resulting in FINE FEATHER, ILLIMANI and SALAMAT KIITOS MOI all being severely hampered and losing considerable ground. Trainer C Smith was advised that a warning would be placed on PEDROLANI.

RACE 5: FORMOSA DOWNS/STGEORGE MACHINERY/ELDERS RURAL BANK & JC, ES & PT KNIGHTS MAIDEN PLATE – 800M

GREY REBEL and CHERRY TREE LANE were both slow to begin.

ROCKY LINER and GREY REBEL both made the home turn wide.
