QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT SURAT DIGGER’S RACE CLUB SURAT DIGGER’S RACE CLUB – SATURDAY – 7TH SEPTEMBER 2024 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – DIRT RAIL – True OFFICIALS Stewards – F Hartford (Chair), W Glass. General Medical certificate received from Apprentice T. Noble. Race 1: AGROCORP / ACUMENTIS / NUTRIEN AG BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1000m GRAEWAZI- Began awkwardly. ZA HIDDEN DRAGON- Laid out around the home turn. Correct weight was delayed for Trainer M Gavin to view the photo finish. M. Gavin was satisfied with the placings and correct weight was declared. BEST SIDE- Began awkwardly. OUR GOLDEN CHERUB- App T Noble reported feeling unwell after the race. QAS examined App T. Noble and passed her fit to fulfil her engagements. GILLICK'S WAY- Slow away. Race 2: ST GEORGE MACHINERY / AGNVET / HAYES SPRAYING MAIDEN PLATE 1200mMR CASINO- Raced wide from the 800m. App S Zoljan dropped whip at the 100m. ROGUE ARTIST- Jockey C. Rogers reported the gelding began awkwardly and lost ground and was placed at the tail of the field. Jockey Rogers added thatthe gelding was not comfortable with the dirt kick back and consequently never travelled and failed to respond to her riding.A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Jockey C. Rogers was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) $400, for use of whip on 9 occasions prior to the 100m. Stewards took into consideration that the whip was not utilized after the 100m. DOLLY DISCO- Leaving the 1000m hung out and again at the 500m. Race 3: RSL SURAT SUB BRANCH / SURAT NEW ROYAL HOTEL / RURAL INSURANCE SERVICES OPEN PLATE 1200m JACK BE LUCKY- Raced in restricted room approaching the 1000m. OAKFIELD TARGET- Race in restricted room approaching the 1000m. Approaching the 900m improved on to heels and was obliged to ease VILLADEN(NZ)- Raced tight approaching the 1000m. Laid in under pressure approaching the 100m. SUNFALL- Slow away. Race 4:DAPCO / MOONGOOL CHAROLAIS / FORMOSA / FRITH FARMING QTIS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200m SON OF BEEBEE- Became fractious behind the barrier and refused to load. Scratched by the order of Stewards at 3:12pm. Prior to the declaration of correct weight all monies invested on the gelding were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions to be applied to all successful wagers placed prior to 3:12pm. 25 cents in the dollar for the win19 cents in the dollar for the place Trainer C Smith has been advised that the gelding will need to obtain a further barrier certificate before resuming racing. KYOGLE KID- Leaving the 400m hung in under pressure. RICHUNCLEMONEYBAGS- Hung out on the home turn.App T Noble again reported feeling unwell after the race. QAS examined App T. Noble and passed her fit to fulfil her remaining engagements. JOVIAL KID- Raced wide with no cover for majority. SCOTTISH FARMER- Bumped at the start. Approaching the 100m hung in under pressure. SILVANNA'S SONG- Began awkwardly and bumped SCOTTISH FARMER. Hung out around the home turn. MADAM ROCK- Began awkwardly and bumped GOLDIE’S POWER. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed the mare to be lame nearside foreleg. Trainer C. Taylor has been advised that the mare requires a veterinary certificate before returning to race. GOLDIE'S POWER- Bumped at the start. Race 5: AGL SURAT DIGGERS' CUP BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1400m MAURICE'S MEDAD- App C. Stuart reported when he was unable to obtain the lead his mount did not race comfortably back in the field. PESHWA- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. YANGARI- Bumped at the start. Bumped leaving the 300m. KAZZA’S JETEAL- App T Noble she reported feeling unwell after the race. QAS examined App T. Noble and transported her to the Hospital. App T Noble was advised a medical clearance is required prior to race riding again. NOTQUITELIKEJACK- Jumped awkwardly and bumped. Approaching the 1100m hung out despite the effects of its rider. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an abrasion to the nearside upper leg sustained after the race in the mounting enclosure when contacting the perimeter fence. Trainer C. Smith has been advised that a veterinary certificate is required before returning to racing. PACKAGE- Approaching the 1100m improved onto the heels having to be restrained and losing a considerable ground. Leaving the 300m hung in under pressure bumping YANGARI. Jockey J Rudd reported his saddle slipped back during the race placing him at a slight disadvantage in the finish. REAL HUSSEY- Approaching the 200m laid out under pressure. App J. Golden was suspended for a period of 8 days from midnight 9 September until midnight 19 September pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii), for his use of whip on 10 occasions prior to the 100m.
