TOWER HILL PICNIC  AMATEUR RACE CLUB INC -Saturday 29th April, 2023.  (Day Two).

GENERAL:  No Bookmakers or Photo Finish operated at this meeting. All starts were by means of a flag fall and all riders who competed were licensed Approved Riders.  All prizes were in the form of trophies only.

Race 1: BUNDELLA PASTORAL COMPANY MAIDEN PLATE –SET WEIGHTS )   1000 Metres.  
 
C’MON  EYELEEN – Was a late scratching when examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and found to be lame in the front near side.(Report No. 13838 refers).  Trainer Mr. F. Manwaring advised that a veterinary clearance is required before the gelding can again start in a race.
No racing incidents.
 
Race 2:  R.H. and R.E.MACINTOSH RESTRICTED TROPHY 3.  (Set Weights).  1000 Metres.
 
MOQWAO (NZ) – Raced wide for the majority.
 
Race 3:  PENLAN RESTRICTED  TROPHY 4. (Set Weights)    1200 Metres
 
HAYYLER’S MOUNTAIN – Slow to go and raced wide rounding the home turn.
COWBOY’S GIRT.  Near the 700 metres was retired from the race.  A veterinary examination revealed an injury to the near side front leg.  (Vet Examination report Q 13859 refers).  Trainer Mr J. Delahunty advised a veterinary clearance is required before the mare can start again.
HARVEY STAR -   Raced wide, rounding the home turn.
 
Race 4:   JC & JM O’CONNELL WESTERN PICNICS OPEN TROPHY RACE.  (Set Weights).
 800 Metres.   
DIAMOND HAY – Slow to begin.
SAME OLD STORY – Raced wide for the majority and lay in under pressure in the home straight. 
 
 
Race 5:  KATE WEDGEWOOD MEMORIAL OPEN TROPHY RACE.  (Set Weights). 1200 Metres.  .    
 
SUMMER LEA -  Slow to go.
SHERIFF KENDELL  - Slow to go.
SUMMER LEA -  Slow to go.
ZAHA DREAM – Raced wide for the majority.
GOLD SAY - Raced wide for the majority.
 
Race 6:  WILLY’S GIFT OPEN TROPHY RACE.  (Set Weights). 1600 Metres. 
 
FRASCATI MISS (NZ) -  Very slow to begin and tailed off throughout.
EXCEL WITH REWARD -  Raced wide rounding the home turn. 
 
Race 7: MARRIED TO THE LAND/ SAUNDERS ELECTRICS RESTRICTED TROPHY 6 RACE.  (Set Weights).  1000 Metres.      
 
NOBLE THOUGHT – Slow to begin.
THE ALAMO – Raced wide for the majority.

 
Race 8:  THE HERITAGE JUMBO OPEN TROPHY RACE.  ( Set weights).  800 Metres

 SERIOUS CAPER – Late scratching at the barrier when the rider was dislodged in preparation for start and the gelding returned to the mounting yard.  No action was taken against the horse. 
ELLE STYLE - Slow to begin.
BAUHINIA DROUGHT – Slow to begin.
