General
As Jockey B Richardson suffered an injury during track work on Friday (31/05/19) morning and was unable to ride, rider replacements were made as per the Stewards race day summary. Jockey Richardson was advised that she would need a medical clearance prior to race riding again.


Race 1: LONGHORN TRANSPORT MAIDEN PLATE 2 Y O & UP - 1000 metres

BLINKIN NOMORE – Slow to begin and travelled wide for much of the event.

MOJOS – Eased off heels shortly after the start. Hung in down the home straight under pressure.

WALLACH – Jockey L. Dillon was dislodged on the way to barriers, remounted and continued.

CHERMSIDE MISS – Apprentice A. Bakos was reprimanded for her use of the whip on the filly. The filly was unable to be swabbed after the event due to the filly becoming unruly and a sample could not be obtained safely.


Race 2: LANDMARK CLASS B HANDICAP - 1100 metres

C. Bryen was the rider of TENT LOVER and permitted to ride 3kg overweight due to no other rider being available.

M. Milford was the replacement rider for DIAMOND JESS.

BEHIND THE THISTLE – Slow to begin and travelled wide for much of the event.

SUPER KEEN – The gate on the left side came back marginally on the gelding hampering his start slightly.
REAL DEAL MCNEILL – Caught wide for much of the race. Jockey L. Dillon reported that in his opinion the gelding did not handle the track or conditions.

YOU’RE NOT WANTED – Jumped away awkwardly contacting TENT LOVER.

DOCAROCKET – Travelled wide for much of the race with no cover.

OUR SAY – Held up for clear running down the home straight.

TENT LOVER – Jumped away awkwardly contacting YOU’RE NOT WANTED.


Race 3: JOHN WAGSTAFF MEMORIAL BM 65 HADICAP - 1100 metres

TIMETUS – Tightened for room at the 300m when an outside runner shifted ground.

DUCK IN DUBAI – Jumped away awkwardly, travelled 3 wide with cover for much or the race, hung out rounding the home turn and lay in down the home straight under pressure.

CLAPPER – Travelled wide for much of the race with cover.

BOUND TO ME – Slow to muster speed and travelled wide from the 600m.

CHRISTMAS CHEER – Shifted in near the 350m and lay in for some distance tightening runners to the inside. Apprentice A. Bakos was reminded of her obligation to keep her mount straight and relieve pressure.

RHYTHM NATION – Tightened for room at the 300m and had to take hold and lose momentum when an outside runner shifted ground.

HIDDEN CHIEF – Fractious prior to the start and jumped away with his head in the air for several strides, travelled wide for much of the race with no cover.


Race 4: GEORGE BOURNE & ASSOCIATES GOLDEN CLASSIC QTIS CLASS 3 PLATE - 1200 metres

Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Apprentice E. Bell requested to see the photo finish print placing her mare in second place and ALFIARTO in first place. After significant deliberation, judges declared a dead heat and correct weight was given on the amended placings.

CANALASSO – Approximately 200m metres after the start shifted in, tightening runners to the inside then travelled wide for the remainder of the race. Apprentice A. Bakos was severely reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding.

TOCCO D’ORO – Eased at the 1000m, losing ground when an outside runner shifted ground.

ALFIARTO – Shifted in approaching the 800m, tightening an inside runner.

GOLDEN LIGHT – Jumped inwards contacting NO FINER JET, slow into stride and travelled wide for much of the race.

NO FINER JET – Contacted at the start, eased at the 1000m and drifted back when an outside runner shifter ground, then tightened approaching the 800m when an outside runner shifted ground.



Race 5: BLACK TOYOTA TAMBO CUP OPEN HANDICAP - 1400 metres

Prior to the declaration of correct weight Jockey D. Rewald requested to view the photo finish print prior to correct weight being given. After doing so, he as satisfied and correct weight declared.

PALACE TYCOON – Shifted in at the 300m contacting an inside runner, then buffeted between runners near the 80m and hampered.

OUR BEATNIK – Slow into stride, held up momentarily approaching the 380m for clear running and contacted at the 300m when an outside runner shifted ground.

HUNTER ISLAND – Slow into stride.

TURKEY BEACH – Lay in under pressure down the home straight.

NERO D’AVOLA – Lay in under pressure down the home straight, crowding an inside runner over the last 80m. Jockey D. Rewald was reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding and failing to relieve pressure to an inside runner. Jockey D. Rewald was fined $300 for excessive use of the whip and using the whip under AR132(7)(a)(i) consecutive times prior to the 100m.


Race 6: TURNBULL FAMILY BM 60 HANCICAP – 1800 metres

YEEZY—Shifted inwards near the 200m contacting another runner.

ARRESTAR – Shifted out at the 200m contacting another runner.

ROCKSETTA – Bounded out of the gates.

BARBERANCE – Eased across to the rail shortly after the start, checked off heels at the 1000m and buffeted between runners at the 200m gaining clear running.

PART THE SEA – Caught wide for much of the race and lay in under pressure down the home straight.
