Race1: JEFF HANNAFORD P/L QTIS Maiden Plate- 1000m
 
TEZZA- Was resaddled prior to being mounted in the parade ring. Trainer D Talbot said that he had made a saddling error on this occasion. Trainer D Talbot was reprimanded and was advised to exercise more care in the future. Hung out throughout and did not stretch out down the straight.
 
SINE CURVE- Difficult to load.
 
TINDER LOVING CARE- Slow to begin and raced at the tail of the field. Apprentice I Teh reported that she had no visibility in the heavy dust, and she took the mare very wide on the home turn.
 
FIRST SLIP- On returning after the race it was found that the mare had lost her offside front shoe.
 
LONGSHOT LIZZIE- Slow to begin and was forced to travel wide in the middle stages.
 
Race 2: BRANDON & ASSOCIATES Benchmark 60 Handicap- 1000m
 
Due to the heavy dust problem stewards requested that the track be watered, this caused a delay for the 2nd race.
 
CASH ‘N’ RUN- Jockey P Hamblin reported that the starting gate moved back after opening baulking his mount which lost ground.
 
QUART POT- Missed the start badly when Apprentice T Wheeler attempted to remove pre-race earmuffs as the barriers opened. QUART POT then raced with the earmuffs on until the 300m when they fell to the track. Starter I Henderson and Apprentice T Wheeler where reminded of procedures to remove pre-race only earmuffs prior to the start.
 
 
Race 3: COMMERCIAL HOTEL/HENCOL CONSTRUCTION Class B Handicap -1200m
 
SHERPA JACK- Was examined at the start when the rider felt that the gelding may be lame. SHERPA JACK was past fit to start by the veterinarian. SHERPA JACK was eased down by the Jockey R Goldsbury in the straight who reported that the horse would not stretch out. The horse was sent for a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
BLAZING HARADA- Travelled well to the home turn then did not handle the shifty going on straightening and lost ground.
 
OBJECTIVE- Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
RINGO’S MAGIC- Raced wide with no cover until the home turn.
 
STAR CETRE- Raced wide with no cover throughout.
 
Race 4: WESTERN DOWNS REGIONAL COUNCIL/KEN DOWLING MEMORIAL TARA CUP OPEN Handicap- 1400m
 
SUPERVISOR- Slow into stride and then refused to stretch out in the going and dust.
 
RICHFORD- Raced wide with no cover in the early and middle stages.
 
 
Race 5: TARA RURAL SUPPLIES/ RIVERINA STOCKFEEDS RATINGS BAND 0-55 Handicap – 1400m
 
GRATSIE- Slow into stride.
 
 
HARBOUR TRACK- Was moved out by the rider in the early stages to avoid a sandy patch to race on the grass section.
 
BILL OF RIGHTS- Forced wider by another runner in the early stages.
