GENERAL
 
Due to a section of the track at the 900m insufficiently drying following local rainfall, stewards amended the distance of all 1000m races to the 1050m.
 
As Apprentice J. McGrath was injured, she was subsequently absent from today’s meeting. Replacements as per stewards summary. Apprentice McGrath was advised she will require a medical clearance prior to returning to race riding.
 
Race 1:SAMUEL HANNAFORD MEMORIAL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1050m
 
SHE’S ABLAZING – Began awkwardly.
 
JIMMY PLOD – Began awkwardly making contact with the inside barrier partition.
 
COLD – Began awkwardly bumping another runner to the outside. Raced greenly throughout. At a point leaving the 900m was tightened for room, checked and lost ground when TAKEMEOUTBACK shifted in. Jockey H. Phillips plead guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR.131(a). The specifics of that charge being that at a point leaving the 900m she permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of COLD (Apprentice C. Miles) resulting in that running being tightened for room, checked and lost ground. Jockey Phillips license to ride in races was suspended for a period of eight days to commence midnight 7/10/2021 and the conclude midnight 15/10/2021. Jockey Phillips was advised of her right to an internal review.
 
ROCK EASY – Bumped on jumping.
 
BEAN DANCING – Raced wide without cover throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
 
Race 2:PRESIDENT'S QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1050m  
 
The start was delayed when SIR ALTIUS proved difficult to load. Trainer C. Smith was advised a warning would be place on the gelding.
 
JETZ – Began awkwardly. When questioned regarding the below market expectation performance Jockey W. Peel advised that her mount was inclined to hang out throughout and failed to respond when placed under pressure form the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Trainer D. Reynolds advised that the gelding would now be retired from his stable.
 
KINGSFORD TIGER – Began awkwardly.
 
MADAME TESS – Began awkwardly
 
AMOUR VOLE – Raced wide throughout.
 
RED PENIJANE – Race wide throughout.
 
 
Race 3:RIVERINA STOCKFEEDS/TARA RURAL SUPPLIES
COUNTRY STAMPEDE QUALIFIER OPEN HANDICAP – 1050m  
 
MY BEST EFFORT – Knuckled on jumping dislodging its rider. Shifted out at the 900m forcing another runner to the outside wider. Tailed the field for the remainder of the event. As a result of this incident Jockey W. Peel was transported to the local hospital for observation. Replacements as per stewards summary. Jockey Peel was advised she will require a medical certificate prior to returning to race riding.
 
PIRACY – Began awkwardly.
 
NEW ALLIANCE – Raced wide throughout.
 
LAST ARMAGDDON – Began awkwardly tightening another runner to the outside.
 
ALL EEZ – Tightened on jumping and lost ground. Forced wider on the track by a riderless runner leaving the 900m. Raced wide without cover for the remainder.
 
Race 4:COMMERCIAL HOTEL/HENCOL CONSTRUCTIONS
CLASS B HANDICAP – 1200m
 
LUNAR LUSTRE – Began awkwardly. Bumped by another runner shortly after the start.
 
OUR BOY BORRIS – Began awkwardly making contact with another runner shortly after the
start.
 
WHOSTOPPEDTHERAIN – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
SUZY NEEDS LOVIN’- Began awkwardly.
 
JAYBE HERSCHELLE – Raced wide without cover throughout. Jockey G. Steele could offer no explanation for the below market expectation performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
HIGH REWARDS – Jockey C. Frater was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for her use of the whip 7 times prior to the 100m.
 
Race 5:WESTERN DOWNS REGIONAL COUNCIL KEN DOWLING MEMORIAL CCC QUALIFIER/TARA CUP OPEN HANDICAP – 1400m
 
HARBOUR TRICK – Tailed off from the 300m and took no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Stewards will speak to trainer P. Webster in the coming days in relation to the horse pulled up following the event.
 
GREY FALCON – Slow to begin.
 
MISS BULITZ – Fractious in barrier. Began awkwardly.
 
CHAMBERLAIN – Began awkwardly. Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
KAPPY CHINO – When questioned regarding the below market expectation performance, Apprentice I. Rabjones advised that after being caught wide in the early stages her mount failed to respond when placed under hard riding from the 300m. She further added that in her opinion the gelding failed to handle the soft track conditions. A post- race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
LI’L RODGE - Raced wide without cove throughout.
 
 
Race 6:BRANDON & ASSOCIATES BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 1400m
 
AND OVER AGAIN – Slow to begin. Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost further ground. Held up for clear running from the 300m till a point leaving the 200m.
 
FOXY ROSE – Began awkwardly.
 
KING BART – Tailed off from the 500m taking no further competitive part in the event. Jockey C. Frater could offer no explanation for todays performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
