QUEENSLAND RACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT DAWSON JOCKEY CLUB – SATURDAY 28 SEPTEMBER 2019 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – GOOD(DIRT) RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – E. BarronStewards – D. KerwickBetting Steward – StewardsClerk of Scales – ClubJudge – ClubVeterinarian – Dr. H. Oliver Starter – T. Campbell RACE 1: IGA TAROOM CLASS B HANDICAP - 1000M AKLAVIK and MOUNTAIN RETREAT were declared late scratching at 12:40pm as there was no available riders. PUMP ACTION – Began very awkwardly and lost ground. TORQUATO TASSO – Stewards permitted Jockey G. Geran to ride 2kg overweight as there was no other rider available. Hung out throughout. FLOSSY TOP – Hung out throughout. LETITRIPPOTATOCHIP – When questioned in relation to the improved performance Trainer B. Hudson advised that in previous starts the gelding was inclined to get on the wrong leg going in a clockwise direction and therefore was of the opinion that the mare would be more suited to the anti-clockwise direction. Due to an impending storm the remaining races were brought forward. RACE 2: ANIPRO BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP - 1000M ROSINCA – Trainer J. Wehlow was fined $100 for failing to produce the horse’s Thoroughbred Identification Card. BRING ME LUCK – Began awkwardly and lost ground. RACE 3: COUNTRYSIDE ELECTRICS PTY LTD QTIS MAIDEN PLATE - 1200M SPEZIA LADY – Jockey S. Sweeney reported that the mare failed to muster early speed and was under pressure until straightening and then finished off well. GALSHADOW – Slow to muster early speed. RACE 4: PHIPPS FAMILY TRUST BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP - 1400M No racing incidents. RACE 5: LEICHHARDT HOTEL TAROOM CUP OPEN HANDICAP- 1400M This race was rescheduled to race an hour ahead of schedule, however was abandoned due to a severe storm which made the track unsuitable for racing.
