GENERAL
 
Stewards were advised by Racing Australia (RISA) that Jockey G. Steele would be replaced in race two on MANYANA MISS and in race four on VICTORY LASS as she was to be overweight. Stewards took into consideration the explanation and grated the change, replacing Jockey Steele with Jockey G. Snowden on both rides. Jockey Steele was reminded of her obligations under AR.120(b). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account Jockey Steele’s prior good record.
 
RACE 1: MICK & SHELL'S MOBILE SEAFOOD QTIS MAIDEN PLATE  900m
 
COALBANK CAVIAR – Shifted in making heavy contact with another runner during the middle stages.
 
 ONYX LASS - Forced to take hold during the middle stages when placed in restricted room by a runner to the outside.
 
ROYAL VALOREM -  Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
HIDENA MAN -  Slow to begin.
 
SHELLY’S DREAM – Began awkwardly, making contact with the barriers. Shifted out rounding the home turn. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
RACE 2: TOPX BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP  900m
 
MELLORE – Slow to begin. Shifted out over the concluding stages. Apprentice N. Keal was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
 
MANYANA MISS – Jumped in at the start. Failed to muster early speed.
 
VIVID IMAGINATION – Weakened shortly after the start. Shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages. 
 
EVERINGHAM – Began awkwardly.
 
LISTANERA – Began awkwardly. Raced wide over the concluding stages.
 
 
 
BAIO – Restrained off the heels of another runner at the 600m. Held up for clear running over the concluding stages. Jockey B. Appo was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
 
 
RACE 3: WILSHIRE & CO MAIDEN PLATE 1200m
 
The declaration of correct weight was delayed while stewards inquired into Apprentice N. Keal returning to scale 0.48 underweight. After taking evidence from both Apprentice Keal and Trainer M. Reynolds, stewards were not of the opinion any act of negligence was to blame for the weight variation. Stewards took no further action and correct weight was declared.
 
FAREWELL ANNA – Slow to muster speed in the early stages. Shifted out at the 400m.
 
MY CRIMSON LAD – Taken out at the 400m by a runner to the inside.
 
RACE 4: JEFF HANNAFORD TEXAS CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1200m
 
ROBBERT’S COMMAND – Slow to begin.
 
BAKER BOY – Hung in over the concluding stages, affecting runners to the inside. When questioning Jockey Appo in regards to the incident it became clear that despite the best efforts of Jockey Appo, BAKER BOY hung in placing TAPESTRY VISION in restricted room. Stewards therefore took no further action in regards to the matter.
 
TAPESTRY VISION – Placed in restricted room at the 400m by a runner to the outside.
 
CHARGE MISSILE – Raced wide over the concluding stages.
 
BELLE EXPRESS – Upon returning to scale, Jockey T. Banks reported he held up for clear running at a crucial stage over the concluding stages.
 
 
RACE 5: NH FOODS WHYALLA BEEF BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP  1200m
 
The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow Jockey B. Appo a view the photo finish. Jockey Appo was satisfied with the judges placings and correct weight was declared.
 
SAIL THE STARS – Began awkwardly. Stewards spoke with trainer B. Snelling, advising him that a warning would be placed on SAIL THE STARS for its racing manners.
 
NUSHEE PARKER – Slow to begin, failing to muster any early speed. Raced wide over the concluding stages.
