THANGOOL RACE CLUB STEWARDS REPORT

STEWARDS PANEL; N. Vagg (chairman) Gary Wust.

RACE 1 MADIEN H`CAP 800 MTRS (12 STARTERS)
Reason To Hail M. Barnham was gallop on and stripped on his near hind leg below the hock.
Magic Mick W. Schmidt over raced and had to be eased off heels at the 600 metre mark.


RACE 2 CLASS 2 H`ACP 800 MTRS (11 STARTERS)
As Apprentice D.Bird was unable to claim his full allowance as rider of Another Power Apprentice D. Bird was replaced by Apprentice N. Nelson. Apprentice Bird was subsequently fined $50.00 under the terms of AR92(12).
Another Power N. Nelson was slow to begin.

RACE 3 QTIS CLASS 1 H`CAP 1300MTRS (11 STARTERS)
Trainer B. Cogill was fined $25.00 under rule AR140A in that he presented Affaire to the saddling paddock without her blinkers. Apprentice Bird was fined the sum of $50.00 under rule AR92 (12) in that he could claim his full allowance, he was granted permission to ride, as there were no other suitable riders available. Lokie`s Warrior Apprentice Mathieson jumped inwards at the start on to Pokomo M. Barnham causing him to lose ground. Newsfront David Rewald jumped inwards onto Ludlow Lad Apprentice Nelson who in turn moved across on to Affaire Apprentice Bird.
At approximately the 150-metre mark Newsfront David Rewald and Chubasco Wayne Schmidt came together.
On passing the winning post the saddle on Craiglea Chick Apprentice Cunningham slipped causing her to be dislodged, after an examination by the ambulance official, she was passed fit for the remainder of her engagements

RACE 4 CLASS 5 H`CAP 1200 MTRS (11 STARTERS)
Apprentice Bird was fined the sum of $50.00 under rule AR92 (12) in that he could not claim his full allowance, he was granted permission to ride, as there were no other suitable riders available. Apprentice Bird was fined the sum $50.00 under rule AR140A in that he sent out an unsafe saddle (girth straps were torn).
Storm Strike Apprentice Nelson was a late scratching at 3pm acting on veterinarian advice (after colliding with the starting stalls). Prior to the declaration of correct weight, deductions were given at 13c in the dollar for a win and 12c in the dollar for a place.
Due to Apprentice K.Cunningham leaving the course, Stewards adjourned an inquiry into interference suffered by My Cracker (Mark Barham) soon after the start. Stewards will be seeking an explanation from Apprentice Cunningham as to her reasons for leaving without permission.
Trainer D.Matts expressed concerns to the Stewards with regards to Jockey M.Goodwin’s handling of WILLY NILLY. After questioning Jockey Goodwin and scrutinising the Patrol footage, Stewards took no umbrage at Jockey Goodwins tactics he adopted.

RACE 5 HANDICAP 1400 MTRS (9 STARTERS)
Apprentice D. Bird was fined a sum of $50.00 under rule AR92 (12) in that he could not claim his full allowance, he was replaced by Apprentice N. Nelson as the rider of Citicharm. Apprentice Bird was strongly advised by stewards not to except rides in the future if he could not make the weight.

RACE 6 CLASS 4 H`CAP 1400 MTRS. (11 STARTERS)
No racing incident to report.

ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED WITH SAMPLES OBTAINED TO BE FORWARDED TO THE RACING SCIENCE CENTRE FOR ANALYSIS.
