General:
“Off The Beaten Track” filming was conducted during the course of the meeting.

Stewards questioned jockey M Usher into the reason for his non appearance for his mount Cyclone George in the first event. M Usher indicated that his had become lost in the area due to his first visit to the region and the lack of mobile service in the area did not allow him to advise the club of his predicament until after the starting time for the first event.


Race 1 QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1075 metres

1st Muleskinner 2nd Cyclone George 3rd La La Bongo 4th Doctor Trouble

La La Bongo ( S Quick) was slow into stride. Crystal Appeal ( D Evans) was over racing at approx the 600 mtrs and shifted inwards making brief contact with Dr Trouble ( D Johnston). Mombasa (L Dillon ) raced wide throughout the event. Nikk Too compounded over the concluding stages. On return to scale S Quick rider of third past the post La La Bongo lodged an objection on Mule Skinner (A Coome) being placed first past the post. After considering all the evidence and acting on their own observations stewards dismissed the objection and declared correct weight on the Judges placings of 1st Mule Skinner, 2nd Cyclone George and 3rd La La Bongo.



Race 2 QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1075 metres

1st Shades of Courage 2nd Little Bit Dodgey 3rd Craiglee Spy 4th Doonside Princess

Be Jays Magic (Luke Dillon) was slow away. Jessie Blue (G Booth)hung outwards rounding the 800 mtr turn. Jessie Blue shifted outwards at approx the 500 mad made contact with Craiglea Spy (D Carrigg). Jessie Blue dipped at approx the 300 mtrs and had to be steadied.

Race 3 CLASS 5 HANDICAP – 1075 metres

1st Check That Out 2nd Stanza’s Gift 3rd Goldent 4th Machtig Kaki Saya

Machtig Kaki Saya raced wide throughout the event.


Race 4 CLASS 3 HANDICAP – 1200 metres

1st Flying Fibs 2nd Emporers Hope 3rd Craiglee Path 4th Sydney Jack
Gen Set (M Barnham) jumped inwards at the start and made contact with Emperors Hope (Zelda Landry). Flying Fibs (A Coome) and Spy Chase (C Beets) made contact on jumping. Ola Hasta Luego (D Whitmore)and Sydney Jack ( L Dillon) travelled wide at the home turn.

Race 5 OPEN HANDICAP – 1200 metres
1st Promising Joy 2nd Red bay 3rd Paris Maiz 4th Cariglee Bells

Paris Maiz (L Dillon) and Chief Harmony (M Usher) were both slow away. Grey Hombre (L McCoy) raced wide during the middle stages. Mr Ballistic(D Johnston) shifted wide under pressure over the concluding stages.

Race 6 CLASS B Handicap – 1300 metres
1st Deearne 2nd Carlyle 3rd Bee Jay Dancer 4th Money Jar

Carlyle (M Barnham) and Money Jar (A Coome) made contact on jumping. Zoomerang ( S Quick) and Berani Hayabusa (D Whitmore) were both slow into stride. Approaching the 1000 mtr Brave Pago (G Booth) hung inwards when being crossed by Dearne( Z Landry) and Beejay Dancer (L McCoy) and placed pressure on Money Jar (A Coome). Caryle ( M Barnham) laid inwards from the home turn.



Race 7 CLASS 1 Handicap – 800 metres
1st Princess Labada 2nd Miss Kanoot 3rd Top’s Lad 4th Rouge Adieu

Burlee Girl (S Quick) reared as the start was effected and was slow away as a result. Newsworld (G Booth) started to buck shortly after the start and took no part in the event. On return to scale Jockey G Booth reported that on jumping his saddle slipped which caused the geldings unsatisfactory performance. Shortly after straightening Grinnezz (Z Landry) dipped. On return to the saddling enclosure Grinnezz appeared in a distressed state and required veterinary attention.
