Race 1: Fitzpatrick Constructions QTIS Maiden Plate- 1075 metres
CHAMPAGE WILLIE- Due to significant spell, underwent pre-race veterinary inspection and cleared to race.
FIELDS OF OXLEY- Underwent pre-race veterinary inspection and cleared to race.
ELLE THE MODEL- Slow to begin.
LILLIAN ELIZA- Hampered when another runner jumped in.
MOONMERA- Slow into stride.
COUNTING TIME- Near 100 metres, eased momentarily when ELLE THE MODEL rolled in.
Race 2: KJ & HJ Lynch Concrete/ Ray White Biloela BM 65 Handicap- 1075 metres
ROSE OF MAYHEM- Due to significant spell, underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection and cleared to race.
CECCUZZI- Near 700 metres, hung out and was steadied.
Race 3: Thinkwater Callide Valley BM 55 Handicap- 1200 metres
AYBESEE- Jumped in and short distance after the start, shifted out and away from runner to its inside. Rider stated gelding failed to travel well and was placed under pressure when positioned at rear of field from the 900 metres. Near the 350 metres, gelding was shifted to the outside of the field and responded to make ground and finished race off well. It was noted the gelding was up in class and against older horses. A post-race veterinary inspection- no abnormalities. Trainer stated the gelding it was his intention to start at Rockhampton and drop the gelding back against its own age.
PIPIT- Jumped in and made contact with another runner.
NOTABITOFWHITE- Raced wide throughout.
MOSCOW- Raced wide throughout.
HIDDEN PRAYER- Raced wide throughout.
LEGAL DANCER- Held up in early stages of straight.
Race 4: Nobbs Family BM 60 Handicap- 1400 metres
RYTARGA- Slow to begin. Near 1000 metres, hampered when another runner rolled in.
VOLTURNUS- Contact with another runner on jumping away
SUPPOSING- Contact with another runner on jumping away. Regarding performance, rider stated that as per the gelding’s usual racing pattern he rode the horse back in the field, went forward in the middle stages at which time the horse responded and run on for short distance however did not run on in the straight. Trainer stated the gelding would be freshened up and dropped back in class for its next start.
CYCLONE STEVE- Near 1000 metres, threw its head in the air and rolled in. Near 800 metres, when inside runner rolled out, placed in restricted room and steadied.
GU BRATH- Raced wide throughout.
Race 5: Commercial Hotel Thangool Cup Open Handicap- 1600 metres
When L Dillon was to be overweight on JUST FOR KEEPS, he was replaced by J Missen. Jockey Dillon was fined $100.
DAMN GOOD IDEA- Slow to begin.
JUST FOR KEEPS- Refused to jump and lost ground on beginning. Warning placed against the gelding.
