Due to the track rating and weather forecast, all races were brought forward with the permission of the Club.
Race 1: Paul Hibble Memorial BM 60 Handicap- 1075 metres
Mysterious Man- Began awkwardly and lost ground. Approaching the 800m, hung out, awkwardly placed on heels of another runner and was steadied. From the 400 metres, placed under pressure and did not respond. Post-race veterinary inspection revealed no abnormalities.
Champagne Willie- Jumped awkwardly and the rider become unbalanced.
Following this race, Jockey C McIver reported ill and was stood down for his remaining rides. A medical certificate of fitness would be required prior to his next riding engagements.
Race 2: Norm Crouch Photography Open Handicap- 1075 metres
Rattle ‘n’ Run- At the start, hampered when runners shifted ground on each side.
Race 3: Callide Manufacturing Company Maiden Plate- 1200 metres
Lookslikerain- Began awkwardly.
Counting Time- App L Attard was permitted to ride half a kilo kilogram overweight, due to no other available rider at or closer to the allotted weight.
Missing At War- Jumped outwards, bumped near the 1000m.
Joffa Valour- Jumped inwards. Rider reported in his opinion the gelding did not handle the rain effected racing surface and it had felt awkward in its action and he eased it down in the straight. Post-race veterinary inspection revealed poor post-race recovery.
Hidden Beach- Tightened when runners either side shifted ground. Lost some ground. Near 1000m, hung out and bumped another runner.
Race 4: Biloela Quality Meats Class B Handicap- 1300 metres
Hope Springs- Jumped awkwardly, bounded in the air and made contact with another runner. Checked and lost ground at the 1000m.
Hang on Tight- Contact at the start.
Curlew- Jockey M Abe pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in near the 1000m allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of HOPE SPRINGS and caused that runner to be checked and lose its rightful running. Jockey Abe’s licence to ride in races was suspended from m/n Thursday 11th December, 2014 up to and including Thursday 18th December, 2014 (2 CQ meetings). Race wide for the majority of the race. Trainer reported the gelding had a laceration to the off hind leg and would now be sent for a spell.
ZIONIC- App J King reprimanded for excessive use of the whip.
Race 5: Fitzpatrick Constructions BM 65 Handicap- 1400 metres
The Pantz- Jumped out and made contact with another runner. Rider reported gelding did not handle the prevailing track conditions. Post-race veterinary inspection revealed a slow post-race recovery.
Kaputski- At the start, contact with another runner.
Usurper- App L Attard was permitted to ride half a kilo kilogram overweight, due to no other available rider at or closer to the allotted weight. Shortly after the start took a number of awkward strides and lost some ground.
Telesius- Raced wide throughout.
