Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Jockey G Steele rider of CAMPANOLOGY (3rd) viewed the patrol films and after doing so lodged an objection against JEDDA’S GIRL (1st) for alleged interference near the 900m. After taking evidence from all relevant parties, Stewards determined while CAMPANOLOGY may have been tightened slightly, Stewards could not be satisfied any tightening had come from JEDDA’S GIRL or that any ground lost exceeded the margin between the runners at the finish. Accordingly, the objection was dismissed and correct weight declared on the judge’s numbers.

BOXER – Slow into stride.

GREY PARIZ – Slow into stride.

KURAMOS – Rider reported that the horse was inclined to hang out and that it may have been a result of the firm track.

Race 4: XXXX BenchMark 60 Handicap 1600m

Jockey S Sheargold was fined $300 for weighing in in excess of half a kilogram over his allotted weight. Stewards took on board the circumstances which led to the breach, his poor history in relation to this Rule and the placing and margin of DIAMOND RACER.
