Barnes and J MullerVeterinarian- Dr Katie ScottSwab attendants – Mr M NewmanStarter- Mr J Devine Race 1: Members BenchMark 50 Handicap 1075m MOZZINATOR – When placed in the barriers, lunged forward and as the start was effected got its head down and was slow to begin. HAYYLER’S TARY – Raced wide throughout. CRIMSON STAR – Post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be sore in both hind legs and was subsequently treated. Trainer S Sigvart was advised that the filly would require a veterinary certificate prior to racing. Mr Sigvart advised that the filly may now leave his stable. Race 2: Owners & Trainers Open Handicap 1200m WORTHY HERO – Delayed the start after being placed in the barrier, lunged forward which caused the saddle to shift back. The gelding was removed and the saddle readjusted. REPO ZEST – Raced wide throughout. Race 3: Patrons BenchMark 60 Handicap 1300m MURRAMARANG – Stood flat footed and was slow to begin. WORTH THE TIME – Raced wide for the majority. DIAMOND DISTRICT – Near the 600 metres was tightened when WORTH THE TIME shifted inwards and had to be checked. It could not be determined if BRADY ‘N’ ME had shifted outward. As stewards could not attribute the fault to any one rider, the riders involved were advised to exercise more care. Following this event Jockey A Butler reported an injury to his right hand. Race 4: Thangool Cup 8th September Class B Handicap 1600m No racing incidents. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Trainer A Stephens and App E Smith viewed the photo finish image of the dead heat for first place. App. E Smith was satisfied as to the placing. Trainer A Stephens objected to the judge’s declaration of a dead heat. Stewards heard evidence from both judges and Mrs Stephens. Acting under AR 156 (1) and (3), Stewards could not be satisfied on the evidence of the available print of any mistake in the judge’s determination of a dead heat for first and accordingly correct weight was declared on the judge’s placings. Race 5: Battle Of The Bush 26th May QTIS Maiden Plate 800m ELEGANT MISS – Declared a late scratching at 4:21pm when unable to be loaded. Deductions were as follows: 3 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets4 cents in the dollar on the face value place bets for the winner4 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets4 cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place bets Trainer B Fitzgerald was advised that, given its previous history, ELEGANT MISS would be required to obtain two consecutive barrier certificates prior to returning to racing. GORDO – Slow to begin. ISIS JECTALE – Suffered heavy contact at the start when VIV’S WINGS jumped in.
