SimpsonPhoto Finish Operator – W DavisVeterinarian- Dr C GoodingStarter- Mr L Wareham Race 1: Linemac Ford & Mitsubishi BenchMark 55 Handicap 800m The start of this race was significantly delayed when SET WAIT took charge of its rider en route to the barriers and crashed through the outside fence at the back of the 800m chute dislodging apprentice Ms E Smith and then escaping outside the surrounds of the racecourse before being recaptured after a short period. Stewards ordered all runners be returned to the saddling enclosure. Apprentice Smith sustained significant injuries and had to be stabilised by ambulance personnel before being transported to Biloela hospital by another ambulance for further observations and examinations. As apprentice Smith was injured riding replacements were made as per the riding summary. Stewards consulted with all riders riding at today’s meeting to ensure they were all agreeable to proceed with the races scheduled. After meeting in private, a delegation of riders informed Stewards that they were agreeable to proceed and take their rides for all races. Prior to entering the saddling enclosure all horses were examined by the club veterinarian and cleared to start. SET WAIT – Declared a late scratching at 12.45pm by order of Stewards on veterinary advice. All bets on SET WAIT were to be refunded in full with the following deductions to apply for all winning bets : 21 cents in the win for first 17 cents in the place for first 17 cents in the place for second 17 cents in the place for third Trainer R Vale was advised that the gelding would have to complete two trials to the satisfaction of Stewards including the preliminary prior to being permitted to race again. Correct weight was slightly delayed to allow the connections of the second placed horse to view the photo finish print for first. After doing so they were happy with the judge’s decision and correct weight was declared. HIGH HUSSY – Was declared a late scratching at 11.20am by Stewards as there was no rider available. SALTY’S BOY – Stewards permitted apprentice G Hayes to ride the gelding half a kilo above its allotted weight. GOLDEN BANK – Began awkwardly and then raced ungenerously in the early stages. EXCELACT – Began awkwardly and shifted out abrubtly. SCRIVANO – Raced three wide without cover throughout. HAYLER’S TARY – Raced four wide without cover throughout. Race 2: Milne Bros QTIS Maiden Plate 1200m The start of this race was delayed due to the incident prior to race 1 and for the arrival of a second ambulance to arrive on course. ADAYONDEK- During its preliminary it dislodged apprentice M Wishart and then galloped riderless before crashing through the running rail at the back of the 1600m chute. Stewards declared the mare a late scratching at 2.50pm. Apprentice M Wishart was uninjured and cleared to fulfil her remaining engagements.All monies invested on ADAYONDEK were to were to refunded in full with the following deductions to apply for all winning bets: 4 cents in the win for first 5 cents a place for first 5 cents a place for second 5 cents a place for third DAUNTING QUEEN – Slow into stide. TEREX – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Race 3: Batchfire Callide Ratings Band 0 - 60 Handicap 1200m The start of this race was delayed due to the incident prior to race 1. The start was further delayed when the ambulance personnel had to attend to an injured patron who had sustained some injuries and needed medical attention. DUDOOMP – Bumped on jumping. CAPTAIN ADRIATIC – Bumped on jumping. Race 4: Noel Howard Memorial Newmarket Open Handicap 1200m The start of this race was delayed due to the incident prior to race 1. ELJAY ATOM – Began awkwardly and was bumped. CRAIGLEA PISTOL – Apprentice M Wishart was reprimanded under the provisions of AR137A for using the whip more than the permitted five times prior to the 100m. In determining penalty Stewards took into account her good record regarding this rule and the totality of whip use. Race 5: M & M Electrics Class B Handicap 1400m The start of this race was delayed due to the incident prior to race 1. THE VOLTO – Bumped on jumping and then raced three wide without cover throughout. DUAN DUBAI – Bumped on jumping. NEED A WARRANT – Hung out passing the 800m losing significant ground. CIMARRON KID – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Race 6: Eric & Val Nobbs Memorial Thangool Cup Open Handicap 1600m The start of this race was delayed due to the incident prior to race 1. KING MAX – Bumped on jumping. GREEN EMPIRE – Bumped on jumping. CLAIM THE THRONE – Raced three wide joint leader throughout.
