Following a track inspection upon arrival, Stewards became concerned with a section of the track in the 1000m chute. After consultation with trainers and jockeys, Stewards acting under AR21(f)(ii) altered the first race from 1075m to 1200m.

Due to inclement weather predicted, Stewards altered the race program and ran the races earlier to ensure completion of the meeting.

Race 5: THANGOOL RACE CLUB BM55 HCP – 800M

Prior to correct weight being declared, N Seymour the rider of OUR GIRL TAMIYA and trainer L Wright made submissions for the filly to be declared a non-runner under AR204(1)(c) due to an error with the starter not applying the barrier blanket which was part of the filly’s gear. Trainer L Wright further stated that the barrier blanket was essential due to the filly’s poor mannerisms in the barriers and was severely disadvantaged due to starter error. Rider N Seymour further added that without the barrier blanket being applied, the filly jumped away extremely awkwardly and was unable to take any competitive part of the race. Stewards agreed that OUR GIRL TAMIYA was denied a fair start and declared OUR GIRL TAMIYA a non-runner under AR204 (1)(c) with the following deductions;

25c in the dollar for the win #10(STICK WITH ME)
18c in the dollar for the place #10(STICK WITH ME)
24c in the dollar for the place #5 (RAPT IN BLACK)
24c in the dollar for the 3rd place #12(RAINBOW SPARKLES)
