GENERAL

Rider M Haley advised he received an injury and was unable to attend today’s meeting. Mr Haley was advised he requires a medical clearance prior to resuming riding.

Races 1, 2, 7 and 8 - Prior to the declaration of correct weight, the Stewards were notified that the photo finish equipment had failed to operate in the above races. Acting under AR214(4) the Stewards determined that the correct placings had been declared by the Judge and correct weight was authorised.


Race 1: THANK YOU ED DEVINE BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1075M

GENDEBIEN – Hung outwards and made the bend awkwardly near the 400m.

DREAMING OF BISCAY – Slow into stride over the early stages.

ARARRAC – Rider D McGillivray reported that his mount shifted outwards sharply approaching the 600m while leading.

MUSIC SCENE – Rider L McCoy was reminded of her obligations to ensure she rides her mount out fully to the line.

BRIDYN MAY – Raced wide through the middle stages

LOUIE THE LEGEND – Raced wide middle stages.

SWEET VENOM – Begun awkwardly and was slow away as a result.

BLAINE – Raced wide throughout.


Race 2: THANK YOU KATH ROSS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 800M

HAYLER’S TARY – Jumped away awkwardly.

PRINCESS LOTTIE – Raced wide throughout.

LIBERTY’S GIFT – Slow to begin. Shifted ground inwards near the 200m when attempting to improve its position.

MEGASHOT – Underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection as the gelding hadn’t raced in excess of 12 months and was cleared to race. Inconvenienced approaching the 100m when MUNGARA shifted ground.

CHEEKY MILA – Shifted outwards at the start. Laid inwards when attempting to improve approaching the 200m.

MUNGARA – Was slow to begin. Shifted outwards near the 100m when attempting to obtain clear running.

SALTY’S BOY – Laid outwards near the 400m. Raced greenly in the home straight.


Race 3: THANK YOU MARK SIMPSON BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 800M

Prior to declaration of correct weight Apprentice Jockey C Collis and Trainer K Miller viewed replays of the start to ascertain if EXOCET ROCKET had been denied a fair start. Trainer K Miller made a formal application to be declared a non-runner pursuant to AR 204. After hearing submissions from Mr Collis, Mr Miller and the starter Mr Wareham the Stewards deemed EXOCET ROCKET’s own manners were responsible for its slow beginning and EXOCET ROCKET was deemed to be a runner and correct weight was declared.

EXOCET ROCKET – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Bounded away at the start and was very slow to begin. A warning was placed on the barrier manners of EXOCET ROCKET.

GLAM ROCK (NZ) – Inconvenienced at the start. Hung inwards rounding the bend.

ISIS JECTALE – Shifted outwards at the start. Upon pulling up ISIS JECTALE shied and dislodged apprentice rider A Ross. A Ross was taken to Hospital for further observation. A Ross was advised a medical clearance would be required prior to her resuming riding. A post-race veterinary examination of ISIS JECTALE revealed a small laceration to the offside nostril.

THE OLD BIRD – Tightened for room near the 400m when GLAM ROCK hung inwards and in turn tightened ROCKSURE on its inside.

ROCKSURE – Was slow to begin. Had to be restrained near the 400m when THE OLD BIRD was taken inwards by GLAM ROCK which was hanging.



Race 4: THANK YOU NORMA SEMPLE QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 800M

THINK I CAN CAREEN – Underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection due to not having raced in excess of 12 months and was cleared to race. Slow to begin. Held up in the home straight until approaching the 100m.

GENRAL MO – Hung inwards in the home straight.

IN MEMORY OFA MATE – M Murphy replaced T Bannon who was unable to make the allocated weight. T Bannon was reprimanded pursuant to AR190(3). Rider M Murphy was reminded of his obligations to ensure he fully rides his mount out to the finish line in future circumstances. IN MEMORY OFA MATE was treated by the veterinarian after it returned to the enclosure with a laceration to its near side hind leg.

AWESOME BELL – Late scratched at 8.13am on veterinary advice. Trainer S Sigvart was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the mare resuming racing.

WEAGLES – Slow to begin.

EMPEROR’S REWARD – Shifted outwards at the start contacting FAINTLY MACABRE. Raced wide over the early stages.

FAINTLY MACABRE – Contacted on jumping.

GOD’S ANGEL – Shifted inwards at the start. Laid inwards throughout the running.

GRAND CARRARA – Slow to begin.


Race 5: THANK YOU GRAHAM BARNES CLASS B HANDICAP 1200M

BLONDE’S DAY OUT – Very slow to begin. Improved wide on the turn.

DIRT RICH – Proved difficult to load. Jumped awkwardly and was slow to begin as a result. Raced keenly over the early stages and made the bend awkwardly. Jockey M Gray reported the gelding raced greenly throughout.

BARBICAN - Jumped awkwardly and was slow to begin

HAVANNAH SUNSET – Shifted inwards at the start. Had to be restrained near the 600m when racing on heels.

IMALI – Slow to begin.

MOA’S GIRL – Raced wide throughout the event.

MISS LITERATI – Was fractious in the barriers prior to the start and jumped awkwardly. Trainer M Bailey advised the mare was galloped on during the race on its off-hind leg with a post-race veterinarian examination confirming this.

FIORETICAL – Slow to begin.


Race 6: THANK YOU HELEN WAREHAM CLASS B HANDICAP 1200M

CLUSTERFEST – Slow to begin.

QUEENOFMAINSTREET – Raced wide throughout.

ON THE TWEED – Slow to begin.

TEYA – J Molloy replaced D Graham after she was unable to make the allocated weight. D Graham was reprimanded pursuant to AR190(3). TEYA broke through the barriers prior to the start and was cleared to race after a pre-race veterinary examination.

SIRATRO – J Missen replaced the injured A Ross. Stewards permitted J Missen to ride SIRATO .5kg over its allocated weight as there was no other suitable rider available. Slow to begin and failed to muster any early speed.

LADY ELLEY – Slow to begin and raced wide throughout.


Race 7: THANK YOU BOB MOSCONI MAIDEN PLATE 1200M

CAIRNSY – M Murphy replaced the injured M Haley. Was declared a late scratching at 3.53pm after refusing to load. Trainer B Trimble was advised the gelding was stood down to complete a satisfactory barrier trial. The following deductions applied;

7 cents in the dollar for the place of winner #9 MOSCOW MISTRESS
8 cents in the dollar for the 2nd place #7 NIKSICKO
6 cents in the dollar for the 3rd place # 11 YAZZI JEAN

GREAT BRAVE – Slow to begin.

WEATHER MAN – Was a late scratching at 3.46pm after being kicked behind the barriers prior to the start with the following deductions;

14 cents in the dollar for the place of winner #9 MOSCOW MISTRESS
18 cents in the dollar for the 2nd place #7 NIKSICKO
16 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #11 YAZZI JEAN

BAGGER TWISTIES – Was examined pre-race by the veterinarian and cleared to race after racing at Rockhampton on the 13th of January. Dislodged rider J Missen while parading to the start and was declared a late scratching at 3.46pm with the following deductions;

7 cents in the dollar for the win #9 MOSCOW MISTRESS
8 cents in the dollar for the place of winner #9 MOSCOW MISTRESS
9 cents in the dollar for the 2nd place #7 NIKSICKO
7 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #11 YAZZI JEAN

J Missen was taken to Biloela Hospital for further examination.

BETTER LOOKING – Apprentice Jockey C Collis was examined by the Queensland Ambulance Officers prior to saddling and cleared to ride. Jumped awkwardly with rider C Collis being unbalanced and was slow to begin as a result.

MOSCOW MISTRESS – Rider D Graham dropped her whip near the 150m mark.

PRIDE OF JEZBEEL – Slow to begin and hung outwards on the bend losing ground.


Race 8: THANK YOU PAT BREENAN BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1400M

JOE ALBERT – Jumped away awkwardly.

CRAIGLEA CETINA – Jumped awkwardly and was slow to begin.

FROZE – Shifted inwards at the start. Made the bend near the 400m awkwardly and shifted outwards.

BESTERS – Held up on the bend and approaching the 200m and had to shift ground outwards to obtain clear running.

WHAT A THOUGHT – Passed to race after undergoing a pre-race veterinary examination. Rider M Murphy advised the Stewards in his opinion WHAT A THOUGHT failed to handle the firm nature of the todays track.

GENG – Barrier gate was slow to open. Raced wide with cover throughout.

OR ELSE – Late scratched by order of the Stewards after refusing to load at 4.30pm with the following deductions;

9 cents in the dollar for the win #2 CRAIGLEA CETINA
10 cents in the dollar for the place on the winner #2 CRAIGLEA CETINA
12 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #5 BUTTER TOAST
9 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #8 GENG

Rider H Phillips was dislodged from OR ELSE while returning to the saddling enclosure. She was examined by Queensland Ambulance Officers and cleared of any injury. The connections of OR ELSE were advised a warning was placed on the barrier manners of the gelding.

ROCK’N’ROLL BOBBY – Raced three wide outside the leaders before tiring from the 400m mark.

LEMON’S PADDOCK – Raced wide with cover.
