Race 1: Howard Helicopters Class B Handicap 1075 metres

MOVING DAY – Declared a late scratching at 12:30pm when there was no available rider.

MARTO – Slow to begin. Shifted in and steadied to avoid the heels of LA BELLE LA BELLE near the 100 meters when that runner rolled in subsequently resulting in GENERAL MO being tightened and steadied. Jockey H Richardson, rider of LA BELLE LA BELLE was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR 131(a) in that she allowed her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of MARTO resulting in that runner being tightened, steadied and taken in on GENERAL MO resulting in that runner being tightened and steadied. Jockey Richardson’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days to commence midnight 17th July 2021 and expire midnight 26th July 2021.

TOY WHITTY – Jumped inwards at the start.

VIKING CLAP – Tightened and lost ground shortly after jumping.

CLUSTERFEST – Steadied near the 900 metres to avoid the heels of LA BELLE LA BELLE. Jockey H Phillips reported upon returning to scale that her mount failed to respond to her riding from near the 700 metres for the remainder of the event.

LA BELLE LA BELLE – Rolled in and tightened runners to the inside approaching the 100 meters.

BONNY’S TREASURE – Raced three wide without cover throughout.

GENERAL MO – Tightened and steadied when MARTO was taken in by LA BELLE LA BELLE near the 100 metres.

Race 2: Biloela Screens & Awnings Open Plate 1200 metres

THE OLD BIRD – Slow into stride.

WALSHIE – Shifted inwards on jumping.

THE BAKER – Checked and clipped heels near the 900 metres when crossed by GALAPAGOS. App. T Townsend, in the presence of Trainer J Devine, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that she shifted in when insufficiently clear of THE BAKER result in that runner clipping heels and being checked. App. Townsend’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 25th July 2021 and expire midnight 2nd August 2021.

Race 3: Star Precision Electrical Benchmark 55 Handicap 1600 metres

ARJAYCEE – Began awkwardly.

FRASCATI MISS – Slow into stride.

CENTAUR – Raced three wide without cover throughout.

CRAIGLEA CETINA – Suffered a superficial laceration during the race. Was treated by the veterinary surgeon prior to leaving the track.

Race 4: First Grade Contract Maiden Plate 800 metres

Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Jockey L McCoy viewed the photo finish image to ascertain the margin between her mount and STRATHBOGIE LAND with a view to a protest potentially being lodged. After doing so, Jockey McCoy declined to proceed with a protest and correct weight was declared.

ROUND THE FIRE – Stewards permitted the late scratching of ROUND THE FIRE at 8:35am. Stewards will inquire with Trainer C Russell as to the reason for the late scratching.

RECUSE – Declared a late scratching at 12:30pm when there was no available rider.

PUNJABI SAVITAR – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after being rubbed severely whilst on the float while on route to the course. The mare was found to have a severe abrasion on the near hind rump and was declared unfit to start. Declared a late scratching at 1:10pm on veterinary advice. Trainer Storch will be advised that the mare would require a veterinary certificate prior to its next race start. The mare was treated with anti-inflammatory medication prior to leaving the course.

STRATHBOGIE LAND – Began awkwardly and bumped on jumping.

TISAYAC – Bumped on jumping.

TOY BLAZE – Began awkwardly.

FRENCH VIDA – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 400 metres was tightened and checked when TOY BLAZE was taken in by STRATHBOGIE LAND. App. T Fenlon, in the presence of Trainer M Lehmann, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that she allowed her mount to shift in near the 400 metres resulting in TOY BLAZE being taken in onto FRENCH VIDA and FRENCH VIDA being tightened and checked. App. Fenlon’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days to commence midnight 19th July 2021 and expire midnight 28th July 2021.

Race 5: Biloela Hotel Benchmark 55 Handicap 800 metres

LOST LIGHT – Declared a late scratching at 12:30pm when there was no available rider.

BONVILLE – Declared a late scratching at 12:30pm when there was no available rider.

OUR STORMY GIRL – Declared a late scratching at 12:30pm when there was no available rider.

CRAZY GOOD – Reared on jumping.

JOJO GO – Fractious in the gates prior to the start. Slow to begin.
