GENERAL
 
 
Race 1: BILOELA PLUMBING WORKS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1075 metres
 
There was a delay to the start when OH SO REWARDING was removed from the barriers to refit the cross over noseband on the gelding.
 
LEGEND OF ZORRO – Slow to begin. Raced wide on the home bend after shifting ground outwards.
 
I’M JACKO – Raced wide with cover.
 
NO BETTER AFFAIRE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
OH SO REWARDING – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 2: TAB RACING MAY 2ND QTIS CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1200 metres
 
HEROIC SPIRIT – Approaching the 900 metres, steadied and shifted outwards to avoid FAV’S FLYER, which was shifting inwards. Jockey N Summers was reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding in that she allowed her mount to shift in when not sufficient clear of HEROIC SPIRIT. In determining penalty, Stewards took into account Jockey Summers’ record and the level of interference suffered by HEROIC SPIRIT as well as the behaviours of FAV’S FLYER. Nonetheless, Jockey Summers was also advised to exercise greater care in the circumstances.
 
LENNY ROCKET – Began awkwardly.
 
MAVERICK HENRY – Steadied and shifted outwards near the 400 metres to avoid the heels of a tiring runner.
 
CRAIGLEA ETNA – Slow to begin.
 
ISSHEGREY – Steadied for a short distance near the 400 metres when another runner was giving ground.
 
 
Race 3: ST JOEY’S DAY JULY 15 OPEN HANDICAP 1300 metres
 
SO YOU DREAM – Raced ungenerously for a short distance near the 900 metres.
 
WREN PLUCKED – Slow into stride.
 
 
Race 4: LH / AUSLEC BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1400 metres
 
The start was delayed slightly when AWESOME SPIRIT had to be resaddled.
 
TOY WHITTY – Began to tail off from near the 400 metres and finished the event well back. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
ITSA CLAMITY – App. T Fenlon dropped her whip near the 100 metres.
 
WHO TOLD YA – Inclined to lay in for the majority of the home straight.
 
 
Race 5: HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATE MCWHINNIE MAIDEN PLATE 800 metres
 
FLAMING ASTEROID – Began awkwardly and jumped outwards at the start.
 
REGALO D’ORO – Began awkwardly and jumped inwards at the start.
 
LONERGY – Tightened and lost ground on jumping. Inclined to hang out for a short distance near the 400 metres.
 
REBEL’S DAUGHTER – Proved difficult to load. Trainer D Schultz was advised that a warning was placed on the filly’s record for being difficult to load. Slow into stride. App. S McCann dropped her whip near the 120 metres.
