Stehbens SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT MACKAY 26/11/24RACE 3 - BECOME A MEMBER MTC MAIDEN HANDICAP (1200 METRES) LUSTROUS SINS – Trainer J Kuhn reported to stewards that in the days subsequent the filly had pulled up with some shin soreness and it would be treated accordingly. GENERAL After a track inspection stewards upgraded the track to a good (3) at 11:30am. Stewards permitted TOUR DE FIELD to take its place in the field in race 5 after competing at Rockhampton on the 29/11/24 and underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. As jockey Adam Spinks was not riding at today’s meeting due to transport difficulties, rider replacements are as per the race day summary. Due to delayed flights, apprentice J Bussetin was unable to arrive on course in time to take her ride in race 1 on RADIANT ROMANCE. Stewards permitted apprentice B Moffat as the replacement rider. Due to the lateness of the pickup ride stewards permitted Mr Moffatt to not claim and no charge to be recorded on Mr Moffat’s record. Stewards permitted overweights as per the race day summary. Race 1: BILOELA DISCOUNT CHEMIST BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1075m The start of the race was delayed approximately 15 minutes to allow for the arrival of the veterinarian on course. LLAMA CHARMER - Slow into stride. Laid inwards under pressure in the home straight. When questioned in relation to the seemingly improved performance trainer D Rideout stated that in the geldings most recent start at Bundaberg on the 5th on November the gelding did not handle the sand track and that he was expecting an improved performance returning to a grass track today. CRAIGLEA THERA – Jumped outwards at the start impeding VALENTINA EXPRESS. Raced wide in the early. JELLISHOT – Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight. SHOW AND GO – Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early stages. Raced wide throughout. JE SUIS FABULEUX – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight. When questioned in relation to the performance trainer J McConachy stated that he was not overly disappointed with the performance as the mare was first up from a spell and would derive significant benefit from the run. CHILL OUT MISS – Raced keenly in the early stages. RADIANT ROMANCE – Raced wide throughout. VALENTINA EXPRESS – Impeded on jumping by CRAIGLEA THERA when that runner shifted out. Over raced in the middle stages. Race 2: BILOELA HOTEL QTIS Maiden Plate 1200m FLAWLESS AMBITION – Fractious prior to the start. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight. Near the 50m carried inwards by MOISSANITE when that runner laid inwards. Apprentice J Devine (MOISSANITE) was reminded of her obligation to stop and straighten her mount when shifting ground. KRAKEN EDITION – Flat footed as the start was effected. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight. Trainer B Bowen was advised that KRAKEN EDITION would have a warning placed on its record for being flat footed. MOISSANITE – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the middle stages. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight and carried FLAWLESS AMBITION inwards near the 50m. TOP ROOSTER – Began awkwardly and slow into stride as a result. Over raced in the early stages and had to be restrained from the heels of SEWN up near the 900m. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight and bumped with POPPY’S PRIDE near the 50m. CRAIGLEA MERIDA – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination behind the barriers and was cleared to start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a minor laceration to its tongue. MAHTIKKAINSTINCT – Raced wide in the middle stages. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight. POPPY’S PRIDE – Raced keenly in the early stages. Near the 50m bumped by TOP ROOSTER when that runner laid in. SEWN UP – Began awkwardly. Laid inwards entering the home straight whist racing in restricted room and had to momentarily steady. Held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight. Race 3: BILOELA PLUMBING WORKS OPEN Handicap 1200m LEGEND OF ZORRO – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. BARNEY RABBLE – Jumped inwards at the start. Laid outwards when placed under pressure in the home straight. CRAIGLEA ETNA – Slow to begin. Over raced in the early and middle stages and had to be restrained from the heels of ALEACO near the 900m. BLERIOT – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. Inclined to lay inwards when placed under pressure in home straight. ALEACO – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination behind the barriers and was cleared to start. Slow to begin. Race 4: FLEXIHIRE BILOELA BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1300m CHILLI PALMER – Began awkwardly. MONEY MUNCHER – Slow into stride. Near the 1000m shifted inwards placing DUSTINS in restricted room. Raced wide throughout. MERLOMANN – Raced wide in the early stages. MEDIA GEM – Jumped outwards at the start bumping DUSTINS. Near the 1000m bumped by RICHUNCLEMONEYBAGS and carried wider. RICHUNCLEMONEYBAGS – Near the 1000m improved onto the heels of TELLMESOMTHIN’GIRL whilst over racing and was obliged to restrain, stepped outwards shortly after bumping MEDIA GEM and carrying that runner wider. Near the 750m carried wider on the track when TELLMESOMTHIN’GIRL shifted outwards. Raced wide in the middle stages. IMAGINE THAT – Near the 800m made the bend awkwardly and stepped outwards bumping CZARACER. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight. WHEREDACRAWDADSING – Inclined to lay inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight. DUSTINS – Bumped on jumping by MEDIA GEM. Near the 1000m was obliged to steady when placed in restricted room by MONEY MUNCHER which shifted inwards. Apprentice B Moffat (MONEY MUNCHER) was reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding for allowing his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear of other runners. KARAKAROO – Slow into stride. CZARACER – Near the 800m bumped by IMAGINE THAT when that runner made the bend awkwardly. LANOVA – Impeded on jumping by TELLMESOMTHIN’GIRL when that runner shifted inwards and slow into stride as a result. TELMESOMETHIN’GIRL – Jumped inwards at the start impeding LANOVA. Over raced in the early stages. Near the 750m laid outwards and carried RICHUNCLEMONEYBAGS wider on the track. Raced wide in the middle stages. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight. Race 5: KERRY LYNCH CONCRETE BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1600m MAN IN THE MIRROR – Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight and made contact with the running rail near the 100m. HOLLYWOOD PARK (NZ) - Over raced in the early stages. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the in the home straight. Trainer G Bell reported that in her opinion HOLLYWOOD PARK (NZ) may not have handled the firmer track surface today and proved detrimental to the geldings chances. NATIVE BEE – Raced wide in the early stages. Inclined to lay inwards when placed under pressure. TOUR DE FIELD – Began awkwardly and slow to begin as a result. Held for clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight. When questioned in relation to the performance trainer D Johnston stated that in his opinion TOUR DE FIELD may not have handled the firmer track conditions today. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. XARELLO – Raced wide in the middle stages. When questioned on the performance trainer R Vagg stated that he believes that the gelding may have come to the end of its preparation and that it would be his intention to send XARELLO for a spell. ROSE OF TAORMINA – Slow into stride. Raced wide in the early stages. LONERGY – Began awkwardly and slow into stride as a result.
